The previous versions would try to upload the modification, would get an error, and would then download the previous modification, erasing the modification (for example the dismiss of the reminder). To check this, just be invited to a repetitive meeting, you’re not the creator. Previously at every synchro, the information ‘reminder dismissed ‘ would have been cleared, then the eyesoft item would be synced in again and you would be nagged again by the reminder. No more in ALOC 1.3. - Modification of the settings panels: The configurations panels have been splitted in sub windows. As a consequence, it’s now possible to display the configuration forms ( with the previous versions, ALOC couldn’t because the configuration forms were part of Outlook®’s settings panel) and ALOC does it when the network hasn’t been configured. Also, as the design of the panel is just a string and a button, ALOC settings panel should be able to fit in every reasonable size of Outlook® settings panel, when previous versions would require this panel to be designed explicitly to make sure it fits in the dialog box. - “Synchronize” button status: The synchronize button is active if the current folder is mapped to a folder of the Appliance, and inactive if not. Previous version updated this (active/inactive) status when the user changed of folder. This could lead to incoherent state if the current folder was Contact, and the user didn’t subscribe to his contact folder, and then the user subscribed to it. As long as he wouldn’t change the current folder, the button would be inactive. Now the status is fixed also when changes occur in the list of folders the user is subscribed to. - Event transferred to personal calendar in assistant mode : In the ‘Appliance’ subfolders, a folder can be read only, but it can be changed from read only to read write, neither can it be changed from read write to read only. The access right enforced by the Appliance store is set when the folder is created, i.e. at subscription time. If the rights of the folder evolve on the appliance it wouldn’t be updated. So, if a user A is the assistant of B, it can subscribe to B’s calendar folder, and create / modify … events for him. But, if for some reason, B doesn’t want A to be his assistant again, B would remain subscribed to his calendar, and would visually be able to modify the calendar (i.e. Outlook® would let him edit items in this folder). At synchronization time, ALOC would try to upload the events, and the appliance would accept the upload (ie return no error) BUT would create it in the user’s calendar folder (see bug 5359). The appliance now returns an error. Also, when timely synchronizations of the folders occur, ALOC now compares the folders of the appliance and the folders in outlook®, and warns the user if there is a mismatch (for example a folder is deleted, or the rights have changed). Some preventive actions have been implemented in ALOC 1.3. - Outlook® early events transformed as "full day" events after synchronization in the Web Calendar - Encoding problem with events categories in the web calendar : Unexpected characters are displayed in category names of synchronized events. - "Disconnect/connect" button position not conserved - Values that aren't synchronized are deleted or modified in contact (Category, private) - Empty pop-up at connection loss - Several corrections linked to synchronization with Outlook® 2007 and exchange - Contact classification is changed to default value - Truncated sentences in the Portuguese help table of content - Outlook in Exchange connected mode (without cache): ALOC can't synchronize too many contacts - Contact information (title) is lost after a synchro to the Virtual Desktop - Event sync (ECS -> Outlook) fails in "Exchange without cache" mode - ALOC disconnected after a calendar synchro in "Appliance" folder mode - Error message "Error while importing event (NULL)" while synchronizing - A warning message is always in French (on a non-English OS) while installing the ALOC add-in - ALOC XML synchronization file may contain obsolete data All Rights Reserved © Alcatel-Lucent 2008 Page 4 www.alcatel-lucent.com All Rights Reserved © Alcatel-Lucent 2008 Page 5
