Call for applications for Global Grant Scholarship for the academic year 2017-18.
District 7040 will offer one Global Grant Scholarship in the academic year 2017-18. The scholarship will
be awarded according to the criteria of the Rotary Global Grant Scholarships. The successful candidate
in this competition will be awarded a non-renewable, one-year scholarship to a maximum of $30,000
USD for the first year of studies at the Master's degree level in one of the six designated areas of study
as identified by Rotary International's project criteria:
1) Peace and conflict resolution/prevention
2) Disease prevention and treatment
3) Water and sanitation
4) Maternal and child health
5) Basic education and literacy
6) Economic and community development
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
1. the candidate must meet the criteria as set by the Global Grant Scholarship application form;
2. the candidate must be entering the first year of a Master’s degree program;
3. must have the endorsement of a District 7040 Rotary Club;
4. must be a citizen of Canada or the US living permanently within the boundaries of District 7040
(i.e. where you go home for the holidays not where you are currently attending university – a
quick search on the Rotary International website will provide the information re the boundaries
of your home district);
5. must be studying outside of District 7040 and his/her home country,
6. must provide proof of acceptance into the university program of his/her choice for the academic
year 2017-18.
7. must submit a copy of his/her current curriculum vitae
8. must submit at least one letter of reference
9. must not be a linear descendant of a Rotarian

NOTE: Because the Rotary International Global Grant scholarships are part of a relatively new grants
system we anticipate that there may be some changes or adjustments in the process as currently
outlined.
Candidates are strongly advised to consult the RI website- www.rotary.org - frequently to ensure that
they continue to meet the criteria/requirements for a Rotary International Global Grant Scholarship.
The deadline for applications is April 15 2017 and those applications should be e-mailed to
[email protected]
Interviews will take place on Saturday, May 6 2017 at a location yet to be determined; applicants may
request to be interviewed over the Internet with the understanding that D 7040 is not responsible for any
technical problems.

Le District 7040 offrira une bourse d’études (subvention mondiale) pour l’année scolaire 2016-17. La
bourse est offerte selon les critères des bourses subventions mondiales de Rotary International. Le/la
candidat(e)s gagnant(e)s dans cette compétition recevra une bourse non-renouvelable d’un maximum
de $30,000 USD pour poursuivre la première année d’études au niveau de la maitrise dans un sujet lié
fortement à un des 6 axes stratégiques tels qu’identifiés par le plan des projets du Rotary International :
Axes stratégiques
1. Paix et prévention/résolution des conflits
2. Prévention et traitement des maladies
3. Eau et assainissement
4. Santé de la mère et de l'enfant
5. Alphabétisation et éducation de base
6. Développement économique et local
Le/la gagnant(e)s doit
1) conformer aux demandes de l’application pour une bourse d’études – (subvention mondiale),
2) être un(e) étudiant(e) commençant la première année d’un programme au niveau de la maitrise,
3) avoir l'approbation par écrit d'un club Rotary du district,
4) être citoyen(ne) du Canada ou des États-unis, demeurant dans le district 7040, (c’est-à-dire doit vivre
dans le district 7040 – non seulement être un€ étudiant(e) vivant dans le district,
5) continuer ses études en dehors du district 7040 et de son pays,
6) faire preuve d’avoir été accepté dans le programme de l’université de choix,
7) remettre une copie de son CV
8) remettre au moins une lettre de recommandation,
9) ne pas être un(2) descendant(e) directe d’un Rotarien (enne)

À NOTER : parce que les politiques de Rotary International rapportant aux bourses sont encore en
transition, nous prévoyons qu’il y aura peut-être encore des changements au processus tel que décrit
présentement. Les candidats/candidates sont fortement encouragés (es) à consulter fréquemment le
site web du Rotary International – www.rotary.org pour s’assurer qu’ils conforment aux critères exigés
pour les bourses du Rotary International.

Les interviews auront lieu le samedi le 6 mai 2017 à un lieu à déterminer. Les candidats peuvent
demander un interview par Internet. Le District 7040 ne sera pas responsable pour les problèmes de
technologie.
