This fall,
we are introducing a new worship opportunity for people who are
‘pet guardians’. All people, and especially those who have a dog
as a member of their family, are welcome to attend and participate
in “Paws and Pray”, a Holy Communion celebration of our
relationships with the animals who are members of our families.
All dogs are welcome. In these services we hope to demonstrate,
emphasize and renew our bond with animals and affirm that they
are Gods’ creation and with that HE gave us the responsibility to
take care of them AND NOT leave them tied to a shed alone with no
human contact, to be abused and neglected. This worship is being
offered in conjunction with caacQ, whose objective is to change the
mentality in Quebec surrounding animal welfare.
In the spirit of this goal “Paws and Pray” will be offered at 1:00 p.m.
on the first Sundays of each month – October 4th, November
1st, December 6th, and January 3rd. Holy Communion will be
offered to all humans present, and special treats will be offered to all
dogs present. Water bowls will be provided (for the dogs!).

Cet automne,
l’église Christ Church Beaurepaire, en collaboration avec les
Centres d’adoption d’animaux de compagnie du Québec (caacQ)
offrent un nouveau culte aux personnes et à leurs chiens. Bienvenue
à « Museaux et prières », une Sainte Communion visant à célébrer
notre relation avec le meilleur ami de l’homme. Ces services visent
à démontrer, à accroître et à renouveler les liens que nous avons
avec les animaux, de même qu’à confirmer qu’ils sont la création de
dieu et qu’il nous a chargés d’en prendre soin. Ce culte est offert en
collaboration avec les caacQ, qui ont pour objectif de changer les
perceptions des Québécois à l’égard du bien être des animaux.
Dans cette optique, des services religieux se tiendront à 13 h les
4 octobre, 1er novembre, 6 décembre et 3 janvier. La Sainte
Communion sera offerte à toutes les personnes présentes, et des
gâteries seront offertes à tous les chiens. Des bols d’eau seront
également fournis (pour les chiens!).
