HMCSAnnapolis.HemadetripstoEurope,GreatBritain,Mexico,PanamaCanal,SanFrancisco,
Aruba,SantaDomingo,BahamasandBermuda.Hesoondecidedthiswasnotthelifeforhim
andreleasedin1989.AftertenyearsherejoinedasanMSEOpandwenttoTrenton2001.He
wasmostlyemployedwithSPVhoninghisskillsasaHeavyEquipmentOperator.Duringthis
timehewasdeployedonTAVtoKabulanddidasixmonthstintinsunnyAlert.
Inthesummerof2008,AlwaspostedtoComoxandpromotedtoMCpl,whereheworkedasa
TankFarmSupervisor,I/CRefuelling,I/CHeavyEquipmentandI/CMP&L.Deploymentsfrom
ComoxincludedanAlertboxtopandHawaiiforRimpac,wherehereceivedaRimpac
CommandersCommendation.Inthesummerof2015hearrivedinEdmontonandspenttimein
QL4trainingandSPVasaCrewChief.DuringthattimeheappliedforandgainedanMDO6
positioninEdmonton.
3.MCplBentwillbesayinggoodbyetothemilitaryon2May2016.HeandhiswifeKimberlywill
continuetoliveinSherwoodParkABforafewmoreyearsuntilthegrandkidsstart,thanretire
toVancouverIslandtobewiththem.
4.AlhaschosennottohaveaformalDWDceremony.Aninformalgettogetherwillbeheldon6
MayatBldg301CFBEdmontonfrom1200-1600hrs.
