Programme partners: FORUM: FRENCH LANGUAGE IN PROFESSIONAL DOMAINS Towards French language teaching adapted to the needs of the professional world. ST. XAVIER’S COLLEGE, MUMBAI 26-27 NOV. 2015 Companies recruit employees with communication skills in French for various reasons, notably increasing economic exchanges between India & France, the strong presence of French companies or Joint venture companies in India as also the increasing investment in France & in other francophone countries. Indian higher education institutions preparing future leaders for Indian economic scene mostly include French in their foreign language programs. Additionally, the Indian universities and the Alliance française institutes develop French language courses catering to the professional needs of students enrolled in various specializations. This forum thus seeks to provide an overview of these developments, by bringing together companies, universities and language training centres, resulting in development of French language course content that meets the need of the corporate world.
