Description:
JP medical is seeking a Paramedic volunteer to provide training for community residence to
teach them immediate response to emergency medical situations. Paramedics are usually the
first healthcare person on the scene and are responsible for assessing a patient's condition and
providing essential treatment prior to hospital admission.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Emergency Medical Technician volunteer will be responsible to teach and train community
residents on:

Opening and maintaining an airway;

Ventilating patients;

Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation;

Providing pre-hospital emergency medical care of simple and multiple system
trauma such as:

Controlling hemorrhage;

Treatment of shock (hypoperfusion);

Bandaging wounds;

Immobilization of painful, swollen, or deformed extremities,

Immobilization of painful, swollen, or deformed neck or spine;
Essential Functions:

Training residents of Delmas 32 cardio pulmonary resuscitation

Train residents on how to assist choking victim

Train residents on assessing an emergency scene, controlling bleeding, applying splints,
Non-Essential Functions:

Assist during transportation and transfer of patients
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years EMT or Paramedic experience as a provider of pre-hospital care
in an emergency setting.

EMT State registration.

Current certification in CPR, Healthcare Provider course C or American Red Cross CPR
for the professional rescuer.
