Casual Launchmasters – Halifax, NS Reference # 2015-LM The Atlantic Pilotage Authority operates, maintains and administers in the interests of safety an efficient marine pilotage service in Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking Casual Launchmasters to join our team in Halifax, NS. The Launchmaster is the Captain of the pilot launch and is primarily responsible for the safe transfer of Marine Pilots between the Pilot Boat and a ship entering or leaving a compulsory pilotage area. He/she must possess superior boat handling skills and excellent seamanship to maneuver the pilot boat alongside an oceangoing vessel, often in open water. Qualification Requirements: Must reside within the province of Nova Scotia and provide proof of Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Residence Status Must provide copies of the following valid Transport Canada approved Canadian Certificates: o Master, 150 GT Domestic Certificate of Competency; o SEN II; o Restricted Operator’s Certificate (ROC-MC); o Seafarer’s medical; and o Marine Advanced First Aid/CPR Level C Experience with commercial small boat handling considered an asset If you are interested in this opportunity, please forward your resume and appropriate documentation quoting reference #2015-LM to [email protected] The Atlantic Pilotage Authority would like to thank all applicants for their interest. Il est essentiellement chargé d’assurer le transfert sécuritaire des pilotes entre le bateau-pilote et un navire qui entre dans une zone de pilotage obligatoire ou qui en sort. Il doit posséder des aptitudes supérieures pour piloter des navires et des talents avérés de matelotage pour manœuvrer le bateau-pilote à côté d’un navire océanique, souvent en mer libre.
