Justin Bieber. Ce nom ne vous
PANORAMA by // par Mathieu Chantelois Justin justin Bieber’s performance at the Much Music studio in Toronto justin Bieber lors de sa performance au studio de Much Music à Toronto Canada’s Teen Heartthrob Cœur de tombeur If you haven’t heard of Justin Bieber, it’s time to check with your favourite teenager. Be prepared for a very enthusiastic response. Justin Bieber. Until a year ago, Justin Bieber and his mother had never set foot on an airplane. From their home in Stratford, Ontario, they posted YouTube clips of 15-year-old Justin with his trusty guitar, singing his heart out. Within just a few weeks, hundreds of thousands of people had watched the young man’s performances, unleashing a viral sensation much like the meteoric rise of England’s Susan Boyle. Among Justin’s earliest fans was Atlanta hip-hop producer Scooter Braun, who was so impressed that he immediately asked the young performer to fly south for a meeting. A week after Bieber’s first flight, Canada’s teen heartthrob and his mother found themselves mingling with recording-industry heavyweights. In the ensuing bidding war between celebrityproducers Usher and Justin Timberlake, Usher won the rights to work with the Web’s latest musical wunderkind. With that kind of support, it is hardly surprising that last year’s My World, Bieber’s debut album, became one of Canada’s fastest-selling CDs. In the United States, Justin’s CD sold more copies than any other new artist in 2009. His first video, On Time, has been viewed over 30 million times on YouTube alone. At this point, only time will tell if our teen infatuation with Bieber will last into adulthood—but so far, it seems he’s got everything it takes to win our hearts for the long term. Puis, l’effet Susan Boyle a opéré.
