My name is XXX and I graduated in 2014 from XXX University with a BA in English Language.
This letter is to inform you of my interest in working next year with the language assistant
program in the United Kingdom in a secondary school.
I have been fascinated by the English language and culture since secondary school because my
English teacher shared many stories of her time in the UK. Ever since then, I have wanted to
work and live abroad in order to improve my language skills and experience life in another
culture. Furthermore, I hope to encourage students to learn Spanish the way my teacher
inspired me to learn English by telling them about my culture and sharing music and films from
Spain. In addition, I hope to develop my teaching skills by working with teachers in the UK. I
want to gain classroom experience because in the future, I would like to work as an English
teacher in Spain.
Although I have never taught Spanish in a classroom, I believe that I would be a good
candidate for this position because I have taught many people from other countries about
Spanish culture and language. In my university, I have been very active in the Erasmus Student
Network and have had the opportunity to make friends from many other countries. This has
helped me learn to speak clearly and patiently with foreigners and share Spanish food, music,
and movies with them.
In addition, I am very passionate about Spanish and English music. I hope to share this hobby
with my students by bringing my guitar to class to help them learn Spanish language and
culture. Furthermore, if possible, I plan on joining a choir in my free time.
Thank you very much for considering me as a candidate.
I am writing to express my interest in working as a Spanish language assistant in a primary
school in England or Norway. I have a bachelor´s degree in Translation, and I am interested in
teaching and learning about other cultures.
My main motivation for applying to this program is to experience life in the UK, improve my
English fluency and gain experience teaching Spanish. While I have never taught languages
before, I greatly enjoy working with children and hope to pursue a career in education in the
future. Furthermore, I am very interested in English culture, history, and literature. I have
always wanted to travel to the UK, and would welcome the opportunity to live there for a year.
I believe that I would be a good candidate for this position because I have many years of
experience working with children as a nanny. I am very positive and enthusiastic when
interacting with children. Furthermore, I have good communication skills that will help me
when coordinating lessons with the classroom teachers. My bachelor´s degree in Translation
from the University of XXX helped prepare me to teach Spanish to primary school students by
giving me a passion for learning languages and base for explaining language structures.
In addition to my academic experience and professional goals, I believe that this will be
personally enriching experience for me. My pastimes include sport and nature, and I would be
very interested in walking in the countryside and participating on a local football or handball
team to integrate into the local culture.
Thank you very much for presenting this opportunity to me, and I hope you will consider me as
a candidate for the position.
My name is XXX, and I am a temporary classroom teacher at XXX school in XXX, Spain. In
addition to teaching 5th grade, I also teach English to 3rd and 4th grade classes. Next year, I hope
to develop my English skills further by spending a year working and living in the UK.
I have decided to apply to this program because I love teaching and learning other languages
and working with children. When I was in secondary school, I participated in a class trip to
France. Ever since then, I have dreamed of living in a foreign country, and I am very excited
about the opportunity to do so in the UK. It would be a very personally and professionally
enriching experience to live and work with British teachers and experience life in a British
school.
My personal educational philosophy is that all children are curious, creative, and talented. It is
the job of the teacher to help them grow and discover new interests and passions. I hope to
share my love of other cultures and learning foreign languages with children in the UK. One of
the projects I would like to create for them would be a pen-pal exchange with children from a
school in Spain.
I believe that I am a strong candidate for this job because I am a positive, enthusiastic teacher
with a lot of patience and a desire to help all children. Furthermore, I like to do crafts and
cooking in my free time and also incorporate these into my lessons in order to engage the
children in hands-on learning. If selected for this position, I would like to teach British children
about Spanish culture in addition to teaching them about Spanish language.
Thank you for considering me for this excellent opportunity.
Madame, Monsieur,
