Report on Grants and IT Donations (2015)
The EIB Institute aims at promoting local philanthropy by channeling support, mainly through
grants for eligible initiatives or donations of IT equipment that is no longer used by the EIB Group,
to non-profit organisations, local community centres or schools.
In 2015, in the framework of the “Small Grants” Initiative, the Institute approved 24 grants,
equating to a total of EUR 75 000, for the benefit of 23 different organisations. The table below
provides further details on total requests:

with HIV can meet, discuss HIV/AIDS and their struggles and needs.

Training of managers for several “Banques Alimentaires”.
Organisation of concerts in hospitals and care homes in Luxembourg, with
musicians from the Luxembourg Philarmonie, working on a pro-bono basis.
Support for the “Meet an Athlete” project, which aims to create a positive
impact on young people through a mentorship-type interactive session with
an athlete (a former world champion and Olympic medallist athlete, Debbie
Ferguson-Mc Kenzie, from the Bahamas, came to Luxembourg in November
2015).

In total 339 desktop PCs and 682 laptops, corresponding to a total of 58 requests, were donated
in 2015, to beneficiaries located in France (36%), Luxembourg (17%), Belgium (14%), Bulgaria
(9%), Slovakia (4%), Germany and Kenya (3%), Albania, Hungary, Lithuania, Morocco, Romania,
Spain and Tunisia (2% each).
