Ex : I’ve rented a car. – J’ai loué une voiture. Le résultat (on dispose d’une voiture) est lié à un évènement passé (signature du contrat de location). Le present perfect simple est formé de deux éléments: l’auxiliaire avoir au présent et le participe passé du verbe. Ex : He has walked six miles. Il a fait six kilomètres à pied. ‘Have’ est l’opérateur par lequel le locuteur relie une activité passée (walked) à la situation présente.
