It produces little information about how to manage a collection of applications which must coexist and evolve together to satisfy a company's requirements, while most complex problems to be solved by Enterprise Information Systems are related to the multiplicity of heterogeneous applications. Centre for Information architecture, the CEISA q Architecture definition, its implementation and its evolution follow rules and practices which are common to any Organisation. But a strong Research and Training Centre does not exist in this field. This plan, running for the second year and managed by the ANR, is endowed with 60 M euros for 2007. Acting just like German Fraunhofer, the Carnot labellisation enables the active organisations in joint research to annually receive a contribution, according to their contractual turnover. This contribution particularly allows to recharge the research teams involved in the joint activities by giving them the means of works, on average and long term, renewing their offer, and to improve the quality of provision to the companies. Ecole Centrale Paris and Supélec - gathered in one C3S Scientific Interest Group, with the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research) - have answered to the 2006 invitation to tender, by proposing a common project in the field of Science of the Systems, and leaning on a representative technological base of the activities in Information, Communication, Energy and Processes. Group of the Ecoles Centrales Research Symposium ■ The edition 2007 will take place at Centrale Marseille (IMT, ChâteauGombert - Marseille) from the 29th of May to the 1st of June, 2007. Organisation, admission and programme are available on the symposium website (in french). More on: criec2007.ec-marseille.fr Corporate brochures for the Research Direction ■ The C3S Consortium has just officially received the labellisation Carnot. This new Carnot Institute represents a research potential of more than 270 researchers and professors researchers, and 370 PhD students. Its joint activity results in more than 300 contracts signed with 80 companies for a turnover close to 7 M euros. This Institute provides by more than 800 publications and communications a year. This success is a real acknowledgement of the work made within the teams and the laboratories, either about research led in partnership with companies or about upstream research. It completely joins in the participation of both institutions to the RTRA Digitéo and the Pole of Competitiveness SYSTEM@TIC, so completing their common plan of research and increasing the prestige in the field of Science of the Systems. Our great thanks to all those who, at Ecole Centrale Paris and Supélec, have imagined and built a solution to this invitation to tender, and have constituted an already real operational team for piloting and managing what is from now on the C3S Carnot Institute. *C3S = Centrale-Supélec Science of the Systems Contacts: Jean-Hubert Schmitt (Dean of Research, Ecole Centrale Paris) [email protected] Yves Tanguy (Dean of Research and of international relations, Supélec) - [email protected] Top of page ▲ Tous droits réservés - Ecole Centrale Paris - contact: [email protected] The Research Direction has released two corporate brochures : - The Research Centre (with Research areas, Research Centre, Research departments, Publications, Research Master, Doctoral Studies, etc.); - The Research Master (english version available in June 2007). The work placements can have a variable duration, but if they are not integrated into an educational programme, they can’t exceed 6 months. The following article determines the ceiling of bonus. The decree 2006-757 of 06/06/29 clarifies that if the amount of the bonus exceeds 12,5 % of the Social Security hourly ceiling by the work placement number of hours done during the month, it becomes a payment. The work placement charter - 06/04/24 - is the text that supervises and asserts the educational nature of the work placement which thus cannot be likened to an employment. It structures the work placement around three sequences built in common by the institution, the host company and the student: the definition of an integrated mission into the educational project, the conditions of its practise in the professionnal environment and the evaluation modalities of this experience, according to the double professional and educational appreciation. From which three guarantees: a compulsory frame by a supervisor and a member of the company, an agreement accepting the three partners' responsibility, and the setting up of evaluation and follow-up. The work placement Office, in cooperation with our legal department, has thus elaborated a new model of written work placement agreement, which notably specifies the supervisors'names. The Mastères Spécialisés* shows Contact: In order to recruit in Mastères Spécialisés degree, the Ecole Centrale Paris organizes several events not only for the future students but also to introduce its trainings to the companies. Ducruix and P. Becker, from February 10 to 23, at the occasion of the Edufrance “France - India” event in Delhi and Chennai. Among the 120 present Institutions, ECP appeared as a privileged potential partner, owing to the strong specificities of ots international programme. The multiple contacts we had revealed the cultural diversities and richness of this great nation. IITs and IISc, highly similar to our highest “Grandes Ecoles d'ingenieurs” are definitely our priority. Taking advantage of strong existing cooperations through P. Becker and S. Ducruix, it has been possible, during intense visits at IIT Kanpur and IISc Bangalore, to sign first exchange agreements concerning students or professors. Following a precise contact of P.Becker, we have also signed a similar agreement with IIITM Gwalior, and another project is under finalisation with IIT Madras. Creation of Carnot Institute allows us for a common strategy with Supélec, that opens a very wide range of disciplines to offer for partnership. Starting this summer, we will host at least six high level Indian students for 10 weeks internships, and 7 of our students should also go (5 in IITK , IITM and IIITM Gwalior) and two for their final six month internship, in cooperation with Capgemini / Kanbay. This should be the seed for an intense partnership, with future exchange of faculty, post docs and co-sponsored PhDs. H. Biausser is very enthusiastic about this visit and the many opportunities that appear. Following our participation in 2006 at the first IIT-EU alumni in Hannover, and the contribution of P. Becker to the 5000 participants Pan IIT Mumbai at Xmas, we will host the second IIT EU Colloquium on next May 11 and 12, concerning R&D interface challenges. This is a major event where many European and Indian Companies, Academic Institutions, Students will participate. About 80 Indian students will stay on campus. A specific announcement will follow very soon. Through the double degree programme Ecole Centrale Paris recruits the best students of prestigious universities of many countries. These high potential students are put in competition for Eiffel scholarships and Ecole Centrale Paris obtained, this year again, excellent results (24 scholarships for 35 double degree candidates, 1st ranking for this number), in spite of an increasing competition with other engineering schools (53 schools have got one scholarship at least). number 10 - April 2007 C École Centrale Paris ORPORATE WORLD HOME PAGE RESEARCH ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES Careers’ Round Tables in 2006-2007 6 careers’ Round Tables in 2006-2007 for the second year students to help them in their area of concentration and professional track choices. The incubator increases the speed of start-ups creation wether it is the completion of Filière Centrale Entrepreneurs students' projects or of school laboratories' innovations. So far, ten companies were hosted in the incubator. Most of them, such as ANEVIA, CRYOLOG, MAKING PROD, NASKEO or VOLUNTIS, have already achieved important successes. Others, younger companies, such as AMOES or CERAM HYD, possess a promising future. To awake and tutorate entrepreneurial behaviours among students and to facilitate the opportunities of technology transfer are the two main goals of Ecole Centrale Paris' incubator. It is open to all Centrale students, Centrale workforce and to any exterior entrepreneurs whose projects have a strong connection with one of the school's laboratories. Very young projects can be hosted and technological projects of any kind have been developed. The incubator offers to creators a managerial tutoring, a privileged access to research labs as well as to a large network of expertise, including the Centrale community and to offices and equipments, for a 24 months period. This excellence programme is very useful for those carrying projects and is ambitioned to be significantly developed by Ecole Centrale Paris in future years. Its objective is to help to structure and simplify the Information System by urbanism, massive usage of components, and a new relation between business and IT, to help company transformations. The impact is huge in terms of time to market, productivity gains, business sharing with partners, international, or CRM. The Ceisa is sponsored by large IT users or Providers with an annual gift of 200.000 euros, of which 60% is deductible from Tax. Sponsors define priority topics. For each of them 4 actions: • Case studies; • Analysis of some vendor offers; • Formalisation of best practices in white papers accessible on Ceisa web site; • Training to attract best students, and to enforce the best practices inside companies. Axa and BNP Paribas are the first sponsors. The Cigref, club for CIOs of the most important French Companies, strongly supports the initiative. The Ceisa is managed by an experienced person, JeanRené Lyon, who was Credit du Nord, then AXA CIO, and founded 2 companies involved in these fields (LyonConsultants, and Wyde). First white papers will be delivered in October 2007.
