Chiang Mai - (la « Rose du Nord ») parfois appelé aussi « Chiengmai », est la seconde plus grande ville de Thaïlande,
culturellement la plus significative au nord de la Thaïlande et la capitale de la province de Chiang Mai. Elle est située
à 720 kilomètres au nord de Bangkok, parmi les plus hautes montagnes du pays. La ville se situe sur les rives de la
Ping, un tributaire important du fleuve Chao Phraya. Ces dernières années, Chiang Mai est devenu une ville de plus
en plus moderne, bien qu'il lui manque le lustre cosmopolite de Bangkok. La ville propose beaucoup d'attractions
pour les milliers de visiteurs étrangers qui viennent à Chiang Mai tous les ans. La force historique de Chiang Mai
dérive de son importante situation stratégique près d'une branche méridionale de l’ancienne route de la soie, et
longtemps avant l'afflux moderne des visiteurs étrangers. La ville a servi de centre important pour son artisanat, les
ombrelles, les bijoux (en particulier argent) et ces sculptures sur bois. La province de Chiang Mai a une population
estimée d'environ 1,6 million d’habitants, dont 6 à 700.000 dans la ville de Chiang Mai. Les chiffres concernant la
population varient beaucoup: certains pensent que seuls les gens vivant dans « la zone centrale » (Amphoe Muang)
de Chiang Mai doivent être comptés comme résidents de la ville, mais Chiang Mai est un cas incontestable
d’étalement urbain. Est-ce qu’une personne habitant Mae Jo ou Hang Dong, peut être comptée en tant que résident
de la ville de Chiang Mai? Des questions semblables s'appliquent à New York, à Los Angeles, et à Tōkyō. En
conclusion, cependant, il est assez facile de savoir quand vous vous trouvez dans la ville de Chiang Mai (pop.
700.000), et quand vous vous trouvez en dehors dans la province de Chiang Mai (pop. 1.600.000). Le Roi Mengrai a
fondé Chiang Mai (signifiant « nouvelle ville ») en 1296, et elle a succédé à Chiang Rai comme capitale du royaume
thaï de Lanna. Mengrai a construit un fossé et un mur autour de la ville pour la protéger contre des incursions

habitants et elle resta abandonnée pendant quinze ans (1776-1791) ; (Lampang fut la capitale de ce qui restait du
royaume de Lanna durant cette période). Chiang Mai est formellement devenue une région du Siam en 1774, quand
le roi Taksin l'a reprise aux Birmans. La ville s'est relevée tant culturellement qu’économiquement, pour devenir
graduellement la capitale officielle du nord de la Thaïlande, seconde ville en importance après Bangkok. Le peuple
parle généralement le Kham Muang (également connu sous le nom de thaï ou lanna nordique), mais le thaï central
de Bangkok est employé dans l'éducation et compris par la plupart des gens. Le vieil alphabet Kham Muang est
maintenant seulement étudié par des érudits et le thaï nordique est généralement écrit en utilisant l'alphabet thaï
standard.

An 18 hole par 72 Championship golf course almost in the middle of Chiang Mai Town. Situated right behind Mae Jo
University, the oldest agricultural college in Chiang Mai, the course is less than 30 kilometers or only 20 minutes
drive mostly along the divided highways from the airport. The course features rolling zoysia grass fairways and large
challenging Korea Velvet greens with beautiful views of Doi Suthep and other surrounding mountain ranges. With
thousands of matured Longan, Lychee, Mango, Pomelo, and Tangerine trees alongside its fairways, the golf course
looks and plays more like a well-matured course rather than a newly constructed one. The course also features
several elevated tees not only to allow golfers to enjoy the panoramic views of the course, the fruit orchard and the
surrounding mountain ranges but also to make plays on the holes more interesting and challenging. From the yellow
tees, low handicappers will play the course 6,537 yards long while higher handicappers can play from white tees
with the course being 6,199 yards long. Ladies or senior golfers may play the course at 5,511 yards from the red
tees.

Ronald M. Garl is the President of Ron Garl Designs Company, located in Lakeland, Florida, USA. He is one of the

International Network Golf Industry (ING). Three years before that, he had designed a golf course for Alpine Golf
Club. Mr. Ron Garl is the designer of most of the golf courses in the top 50 golf courses in Florida including the TPC
at Prestansia and Palm Beach Polo Club.

Located a 30 minutes pleasant drive from Chiangmai. The resort is set among wooded hills by cool placid mountain
streams. It is the place for the whole family for recreation and relaxation. The 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson
designed links style course opened in February 1996. The par 4, 4th ( Hcp 1) is an absolute brute of a hole, playing
at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way. Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as
the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length. More so, considering there is 94 well-placed
bunkers to catch any stray shots. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in
play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well.
Many of the holes are set with beautiful mountain backdrops, so if your game goes to the pack at least the course
and it’s backdrops will be pleasing to the eye. All Tees, Fairways and Roughs are grassed with 419 Bermuda grass
and Greens with imported Tiff Dwarf Bermuda grass. A practice putting and chipping green, as well as a driving
range are available for you to fine tune your skills before attacking the course.

Chiang Mai : Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep est un temple bouddhiste de la province de Chiang Mai. Le temple est désigné
souvent sous le nom de Doi Suthep bien que ce soit en réalité le nom de la montagne sur laquelle il est localisé. Le
temple est situé à 15 kilomètres de la ville de Chiang Mai et est un site sacré pour les Thaïs. Depuis le temple, il y a
une vue impressionnante sur la ville de Chiang Mai, Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep demeure toujours une destination très
populaire auprès des visiteurs étrangers.

15 minutes by car from the town centre of Chiang Mai is Green Valley Country Club, a championship 18-hole golf
course, part of the Green Valley Group of country clubs in Thailand. The appearance of the fairways, lined with palm
trees, seems wide, but golfers must be careful in that traps like water hazards and bunkers are plentiful and
carefully sited by the course designer, thus making the fairways narrow and leaving no room for the wayward shots.
Within and around the golf course, there are also land allocated for housing estate providing a serene view of the
lake. The total area covers 1,300 rais.

Designer by Dennis Griffiths and Associates Inc., an 18-holes world standard golf course with par 72 stays very
prominently among the view of mountains, cool and cosy atmosphere. The golf course is well maintained by
professionals. Landscaping is arranged to mix with the beautiful surroundings and freshness of air, lake, various kind
of trees which are the unique of northern city as Chiangmai. All of these combinations will make golfers enjoy their
play at the coures. Green Valley is an excellent, championship caliber 18-hole golf course that is beautifully
landscaped and well maintained. It features an abundance of well placed sand bunkers and lots of water that can
come into play on nearly every hole on the course. The fairways are ample and mostly level. The greens are large,
receptive to approach shots, and putting speed is moderate to slightly fast. However, course length, numerous
elevation changes, and prevailing wind makes Green Valley a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
The course drains exceptionally well during the wet season and benefits from the nearly constant "good air" breeze
of the Mae Rim area. The beautiful clubhouse provides full features and service: a polite & professional staff, wellstocked Pro Shop, dining & refreshment areas, locker room facilities, and luxurious health spa services.

Chiang Rai - Chiang Rai (thaï
เชียงราย,
littéralement ‘la Ville des Rois’) est une ville du nord de la Thaïlande. Sa
situation géographique est de 19° 56' nord, 99° 51' est. Elle abrite une population de 62 000 personnes. La ville fut
fondée par le Roi Mengrai en 1262 et devint la première capitale du royaume de Lanna Thai, mais perdit peu après
ce statut au profit de Chiang Mai. En 1432, le Bouddha d'Émeraude, la plus importante représentation de Bouddha
vénérée en Thaïlande, fut découvert à Chiang Rai dans un temple du nom de Wat Pa Yier (temple de la forêt de
bambous) ; celui-ci fut alors renommé Wat Phra Kaeo. A 13 kilomètres au sud, se trouve le Wat Rong Khun, plus
connu sous le nom de temple blanc.

Away from the heat and bustle of Bangkok, Chiang Rai is located in the far north west of Thailand. It is known as the
‘Golden Triangle’ between the beautiful mountains along Thailand's western border and the Mekong River. A visit to
Santiburi in Chiang Rai is a delightful experience year round Santiburi Golf Club, Chiang Rai's first and foremost golf
course was designed to take advantage of the natural terrain by Robert Trent-Jones jr., one of the world's finest golf
course designers. The 18 holes championship course, par 72, is a challenge for every golfer. Rolling hills guarded by
countless sand and grass bunkers, trees and huge water hazards, were designed into the natural landscape of the
northern region. The beautiful and full functional club house dominates the highest point of the club area. Santiburi
Country Club Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., this course features a wide range of sloping lies and natural
hazards. Surrounded by distant hills, the golf course and housing development is set on low hilly land. At holes 2,3 &
4 players have to play alongside a huge lake. Most greens are well protected by bunkers and there are several very
good dog-leg holes, particularly the par-5 eighteenth, where players have to negotiate water on the right side of the
fairway on the approach shot to the green. The clubhouse is very nice and there are hotel accommodations on site.

Chiang Saen – vous embarquerez sur des pirogues pour une promenade sur le Mekong. Possibilité de tenter le gros
lot au Casino Birman ou de poser le pied en territoire Laos afin de déguster les boissons locales. Le retour en bateau
sur ce fleuve plein de secrets, vous fera traverser ce que l’on nomme le Triangle d’Or, jadis, la plaque tournante de
la drogue et de tous les trafics. Sur la route des berges, vous passerez par un village de minorité Thai-Lue spécialisé
dans le tissage traditionnel, et vous vous arrêterez au petit temple de montagne de Wat Phrathat Ngao. Retour vers
Chiang Rai et installation à votre hôtel.
