INFLUENZA
GRIPPE
C h il e (information dated 8 September 1972). — In Santiago,
since the end of August, local outbreaks of influenza-like illness
have occurred in the general population and, since 1 September,
an increase has been observed in the daily number of hospital
admissions for influenza-like illness.
Evidence of infection with virus A has been obtained by virus
isolation and serological tests.

on a observé une augmentation du nombre journalier des admis­
sions hospitalières pour affections d ’allure grippale.
L’infection à virus A a été mise en évidence aussi bien par l’isole­
ment du virus que par les examens sérologiques.
