How it Works
FAST EnergyCam 2.0 uses a camera and OCR technology to take regular meter readings and
transmit the resulting data either via a wired network or wirelessly. The Data Logger software
option enables you to store up to 10,000 readings in the device’s internal memory.

Installation
Use the universal template to determine the correct mounting position for your source meter. The
clear, high-performance tape provided ensures a secure mount and the pivoted mounting bracket
gives you an unobstructed view of the meter number and display whenever you need it.

Capturing Meter Readings
The built-in camera captures an image of the meter’s counter while LEDs ensure a clear picture,
even in dark meter cabinets. The OCR algorithm transforms the image into a digital numerical
value. Use the supplied ECWin software to set reading intervals of 1-60 minutes and select
appropriate fonts and meter types.

Data Transfer
Captured meter readings are transmitted to a gateway where they can be processed – for example, using dedicated energy data management software. In wireless M-Bus mode, FAST
EnergyCam 2.0 automatically transmits data at preset intervals, while in wired mode, you can
take readings anytime using an appropriate command. The new and unique bidirectional data
transfer capability enables you to use the wireless M-Bus to take readings, calibrate the device
and update its firmware.
