Congratulations to Dr. Sophie Hofstader,
Scarborough Walk of Fame Inductee!
CDA is pleased to share that Dr. Sophie Hofstader will be inducted into the Scarborough Walk of Fame on
October 17, 2015. Dr. Hofstader is being recognized for her long standing medical career at The Scarborough
Hospital. She has been on staff for 52 years and has contributed greatly to the city of Scarborough. After a
decade of her Family Practice, Dr. Hofstader in 1971 began her career in dermatology and in 1980 she
organized the Canadian Dermatological Association’s lecture tour of China, the first embarked upon by a
Canadian medical group.
The Scarborough Walk of Fame (SWOF) celebrates the achievements of Scarborough residents, past and
present in the fields of Sports, Arts, Entertainment, Health, Education and Community. The SWOF is a not-forprofit, volunteer driven organization dedicated to honouring citizens whose extraordinary contributions garner
community pride.
