This visitor satisfaction 12-month barometer gives some highlights of VISITBRUSSELS online satisfaction survey
www.visitbrussels.be/qualitydestination, which is part of the Quality Scheme for Brussels tourism.
The survey is completed on a voluntary basis. Face-to-face interviews are also performed once in a while in touristic
areas of Brussels, at random.
Therefore, the survey does not at all pretend to be “scientific” or to be a true reflection of what all visitors think or
feel about our destination.
Nevertheless, we consider it is a useful tool for our future visitors, Brussels tourism professionals and public
authorities.
Because your appreciation and comments help us to create a world of real hospitality, your participation in this

Meeting locals and getting to chat with them were
great because they were all so nice! I met a woman
who owned a small cafe that had the best waffles
and a chocolatier at the Chocolate VIllage who was
beyond cool. It made being in Brussels a little more
special because now I can say I made friends half way
across the world :)

Dans les musées (MIM, musées d'arts, BD, BELvue )
avec la carte Brusselscard. Dans le nouveau centre
piétonnier, au pied de l'atomium, dans les balades
de quartiers (sablons châtelain) et autour d'une
bière belge dans les bars!
Le musée des brasseurs belges est une arnaque et ne
devrait pas figurer dans la brusselscard.

I took a taxi when arrived the driver didn't use the
meter and forced us to pay 12 euros for short
distance which should be charged 5.8 euros I have a
picture of the car and evidence so i contact the taxi
company but they just covered for the driver. The
lady in the front desk of our hotel helped us by
calling the taxi company for several times so she
knew the whole story. I don't want my money back I
just hope the taxi driver won't do this to other
tourists again. Can you help me?

Innenstadt. Ein Sammelbecken aller Sprachen und
Rassen dieser Erde.

Not many but we had two nice days in Brugge and
Antwerp a lot cleaner safer places than Brussels.
Myself and my partner decided we were staying in
Brussels from 29th July 2015 to 5th August 2015 our
hotel was the midi business lodge Bd Maurice

there must be at least 7 receptionists which change
regularly. Our room 202 had old carpet cigarette
burns and dirty the windows one didn't open no
handle the wardrobe no door it smelt real bad
because of drains the extract fan in bathroom was
showing bare wires dangerous chair was stained it
was dirty very dirty the lock you could not lock from
inside. During one night we had somebody open
the door during the middle of night whilst we were in
bed terrifying my partner both naked on the bed as it
was so hot . We swapped to next room for last
night because window didn't open its right on Main
Street and very very noisy. The area itself I did not
feel safe in whatsoever I am not a small male and
travelled a fair bit in my life this is one holiday I wish
I never came and wasted money on the streets were
rubbish everywhere old buildings not looked after
graffite everywhere the sights where good over
priced and touristy I'd find somewhere a lot safer for
my partner next time.

Il ne faudrait plus qu'il y ait de snacks ni de
nightshops dans le centre.
Les belges sont accueillants. Une ville verte. On peut
se déplacer très facilement.
Le passage piétonnier est une très mauvaise idée en
hiver il n'y aura personne. Et au niveau du passage
on ne sait pas si ca reste piétonnier indiquer des
panneaux! Ce n'est pas convivial. Tous les musées
sont réunis à un seul endroit. Il n'y a pas beaucoup
d'auberges de jeunesse. Pas beaucoup d'activités
pour les jeunes comparés à d'autres capitales. On
doit payer dans les toilettes de café de cinéma alors
qu'avant c'était grauit. Pas beacuoup de fontaines
d'eau potable.

The connectivity of public transport and the ease
with which I could get to places all by myself is
something I love about Brussels.
Public areas and residential streets are not that
hygienic as I expected. There is dog shit everywhere I
see. Apart from dog shit and chewing gums I think
the city is pretty neat. Would love to see Brussels
take care of this aspect of cleanliness as I LOVEE

We had a very difficult time finding the hop on and
off stops. I feel like an address for each stop should
be posted because the maps are not clear enough. It
took us until our last day to finally find one then
when got off and tried getting back on it we felt like
we were waiting forever that we just walked instead

MOOF museum is good chocolate shops are good
but expensive
City tour bus driver drove like a maniac audio guide
through headphones did not match where we were.
Many attractions badly signposted difficult to find.
Many museums galleries palaces etc. quite
disappointing - not so much to see when compared
with other cities such as London and Rome. Smell of
wee on the streets quite often - could be the public
urinals!

Good things are people, hotel, food attractions,
Hop on bus. Airport line Bus 21 is excellent. Seafood
trolley in front of Manneken Pis is MUST EAT.
Musical instrument museum is one of the best in the
world.
Brussels airline have no toiletries in the toilet on
board. No soap. Only a few people know Comic
museum. There is no sign post for Comic museum
and it is too far away from Hop on Bus Stop. Taxi
driver doesn't know where the Comic museum is. We
took 4 hrs to get into Comic museum from Grand
Place. The other issue I noticed is there is no Hop on
Bus stop Number at Bus stand. So Chinese may not
know which Hop on Bus stop he is now . There are
only 14 Bus stops for each Blue line and Red line. So
please write number 1 to 14 in each Hop on Bus Stop
so your tourist will know which Bus stop he got to
stick. They can't read letters of your sign post at Bus
stop.Perhaps you could install LCD display in Hop on
bus like in Geneva so people will know when to get
out from the Bus. Thank you.

La stib pose certes de nombreux desagrements tles
prix sont tres chers que ce soit restaurants
transports toilettes. Proprete discutable et

Au Grand Parc de Bruxelles dans la vieille ville et ses
petites ruelles.
A Fritland. Les employés se sont montrés fort impolis
et ne pouvaient pas me dire de quoi étaient faites les
sauces. Par la suite ils ont refusé mon bon "brussel
cards" pour une sauce grauite. Quand je leur ai dit
qu'alors je ne voulais pas de frites chez eux l'un m'a
répondu "tant mieux va-t'en!". C'est inacceptable. Je
n'y retournerai jamais et ne recommande nullement
cet endroit.

A améliorer la qualité de l'accueil touristique par la
plage horaire plus large: amabilité du personnel
(prendre le temps et ne pas leur lancer la carte). Il n'y
a pas moyen de réserver l'accueil du bnb. Améliorer
fortement la réservation et l'acceuil de bnb. Il n'y a
pas de proposition efficace d'un acceuil de bnb de
dernière minute.

Wheelchair friendliness: 1. Lack of accessible tram
and metro stations (We stayed in Avenue Louise). 2.
Cracks between cobble stones are either missing or
uneven making negotiation of the streets difficult in
a wheelchair. 3. Wheelchair assistance with shops
and transport non-existent. So to put this right and
make it perfect: 1. Introduce accessible ramps at
each station for tram and metro - even temporary
ramps are better than none. 2. Fill in gaps between
cobble stones - don' t get rid of the cobbles they are
part of Belgian heritage just fill in the gaps between
them. 3. Introduce city center "Accessibility Angels"
that you can text for assistance up steps into shops
on bus etc. - a helping hand close by..

I cannot specifically remember dates as I have been
in Brussels many times but I like the restaurants the
variety of shopping and the beautiful cafes (in terms
of design and quality). Prices could be a bit better but
still affordable. Additionally I love the parks and
several spots in the city (apart from Grand Place).
I come frequently in Brussels (multiple times in a
year) since I have my relationship there. It is such a
pretty city but there is one major problem that
annoys me : the cleanliness. The city is dirty with
garbage vomotings pee etc etc. I'm sorry to notice
that municipality doesn't really care much on this
otherwise they would take drastic actions until now.
Many friends of mine that also visited the city they
had one negative thing to say which is how dirty it is
on the roads pavements squares etc. Municipality
should finally do something to control this. They
came up with an advertising campaign last year ('qui

As I complained by e-mail, the quantity and quality
of information center in Brussels Midi Station was
very poor. On 19.05.2015, 10:35-10:50 and 11:4512.05, I could not find anyone to ask the place of bus
shuttles to Charleroi Airport. The information center
was closed (two person& not working). Also
Charleroi Airport was a poor quality airport according
to me (there was only one buffet which serves the
passengers after passport control!) Maybe special for
Pegasus Airlines passengers or flying to Turkey.

busy, yet very friendly and kind staff, great food and
beer, public WiFi available too.
Friday evening, walking on Rue Neuve through piles
of cardboard boxes and all kinds of garbage. Wind
blows parts of this garbage around. NOT amused.
This is supposed to be the capital of Europe? No way.

deal with the situation, as my aggressive neighbors
spoke only French. My host said he, too, had trouble
with the neighbors and he's been in Brussels for 5

We bought the 72 hour Brussels card and it more
than halved our entry costs for the MANY galleries
and museums etc we visited. We bought it online
before travelling and it to have it ready to use
straight away (unlike Amsterdam where we wasted
valuable holiday time searching out the place to buy
theirs!)
In general the museums and art galleries only had
info about the art pieces in the two languages of
Belgium and we English speakers had expected to be
provided with captions in THE international
language!

Déception en fin de séjour (grêve des Thalys, accès

la gare personne n'a vraiment été capable de nous

Card 48h - 29 euros , ce qui represente un bon budget
.. et nous avons eu la désagréable surprise de trouver
les 3/4 des musées et expsitions fermées .. nous
étions samedi soir, dimanche, lundi ..Meme le
Musée des Brasseurs Belges qui était censé etre
ouvert n' a pas ouvert ses portes nous étions
nombreux à attendre l'ouverture mais rien ! Du coup
sur les 150 euros de la carte nous avons utilisés 70
euros , d'ou notre impression de nous être fait avoir !

The house of Rene Magritte was fantastic. I also
liked the area of around Museum Place a lot.
I visited Brussels in summer 2010, and I remember
that a free transportation pass was included in the
Brussels Card then, whereas this time it was not. I
wish I could have had a free transportation coming
together with the Card. I could not find a good app
for information of transportation in Brussels which
works even offline. The app I found and
downloaded would work if one can have internet
access all the time, however which was not the case
for me, as there is not so many free WiFi spot in
town.

Any language assistance I received in a city that
focuses on Dutch and French, little English.
My hotel stay was one of the most disappointing in
all my years of travel throughout the world. My
initial treatment was disrespectful and unkind. As an
American elderly woman traveling alone I am
completely at the mercy of everyone, especially
when outside of the US. I believe my treatment was
a form of bullying and discriminatory. It was Grand
Place Hotel Boulevard Anspach.

I found the Brussels Museum card to be valuable,
proportionate to its price, the Metro, although
currently under heavy construction, was always on
time and regular, the nightlife lives up to the level of
a city that is awake and interested in its
entertainment, Although I did not use the ticket for
the subway that came with my concert tickets, it is
definitely a good idea.
I found the price of the tickets for the Atomium,
Mini-Europe and the Museum of the Chocolate to be
disproportionate to the entertainment level they
provided (especially the last one...), I did not feel safe
in the subway at any time, not to mention the poor
state of cleanliness of the stations.

Nous avons utilisé le service des bus
citysightseeing.le chauffeur de la ligne 2 a été très
aimable et nous avons bien profité de la visite.
Par contre le chauffeur de la ligne numéro 1 ne nous
a pas fourni les casquesni fait part des différentes
promotions auxquelles nous avions droit.il a roulé
beaucoup trop vite pour que nous puissions apprécié
la vue. Et le plus beau, c'est qu'il n'a pas respecté les
horaires ce qui fait que nous avons été obligé de
remonter à l'atonium en taxi pour récupérer notre
voiture, ce qui nous a coûté 20 € en plus.

and bibliotheque. It was a really true Belgian style
place. I was even upgraded for free and insteed in a
economy room I was offered a suite.
On a date of my arrival it was a meeting in EC and
bus didn't drive to Luxembourg. It was difficult to
find out from the bus drivers when they will start
drive to the final station.

Bruxelles est une ville on ne peut plus intéressante
sur le plan linguistique, c'est une ville très
cosmopolite et les gens sont ouverts d'esprit. Je suis
attiré aussi par sa diversité culturelle et par son

multiples musées et centres d'information. Bruxelles
est une ville internationale qui attire l'exotisme et les
rencontres, je ne peux que faire l'éloge de cette ville!
Il se trouve que Bruxelles est inadapté pour les
cyclistes: il manque des pistes cyclables. La beauté
architecturale de la ville, ainsi que sa verdure sont
ternies par le manque de propreté dans les rues et
autres espaces publiques. Bien que Bruxelles soit
bien desservi par les transports, je dois admettre que
les tarifs sont chers par rapport à d autres capitales.

First of all I lived there for 6 months but the range of
events offered through these months far exceeded
my expectations. The variety of museums and events
every single weekend is amazing. Epsecially liked the
Jazz Festival and the random Zumba Party on a sunny
summer day. The gastronomy is just amazing, you
can find everything from Thai to Turkish, many
friteries and chocolatiers.
Truth to be told, Brussels is not the cleanest city of all
and I could complain about the quailty o the water
(unbelievably hard) but it is out of reach of
VisitBrussels. People could be friendlier (much less
rude) and the customer service in all shops of Rue
NEuve could be way better.

jeden Fall sehenswert, aber leider ein bisschen
teurer. Im Zentrum findet man tolle Bars und Cafés.

Non è stato sempre semplice l'utilizzo di bus o tram,
invece la metro ottima. Ottimo il ristorante in cui

Er was verwarring bij wie er gereserveerd moest
worden voor een toeristische rondleiding en
museumbezoek. Visit Brussels kon ons slechts ten
dele helpen. We werden eigenlijk bij reservatie 'van
het kastje naar de muur gestuurd'.

La visite de la maison Cauchie a été un moment très
émouvant sous la conduite du petit fils du sauveteur
de la maison. Visite de la Monnaie et de l'hôtel de
ville très intéressantes. Déambulation au fil des rues
et découverte de la grand place de nuit, magique.
Redevenir enfant en escaladant l'atomium
Bon, l'ascenseur de l'Atomium était en réparation
mais il faut bien faire ça un jour. Déçu par les églises
superbes à l'extérieur, banales à l'intérieur.

l'histoire de Bruxelles très bien réalisé. Apprécié ce
mois la Brafa, bon jazz au Festival Blue Flamingo du
Karreveld, expo BD Corée/Belgique au Centre
Culturel Coréen.Très bonne cuisine à la taverne de
BOZAR.
Accueil en général très chaleureux , l'exception,
encore une fois, au bureau d'information grand place
une jeune et réessai chez une dame plus âgée .Toutes
deux grossières , désagréables et totalement
inefficaces.

Visite guidé gratuite proposé le premier jour,
exceptionnel, pendant trois heures nous avons
découvert toute l'histoire du centre ville de bruxelles.
Une ville très agréable, des gens accueillants pour la
plus part. Découverte de la gastronomie et de
nombreux musées. Je vous conseil le musé d'histoire
naturel et le musée de Bruxelles. Tres pratique la
Brussel card.

LEFFE de Bruxelles. je ne le conseillerais pas, tres cher

J'apprécie surtout la possibilité de lier connaissance
avec des touristes étrangers sur la Grand'Place.
L'ambiance est unique et incite aux contacts pour
échanger des points de vue sur Bruxelles.
La saleté des trottoirs et le manque d'entretien du
mobilier urbain est catastrophique et digne d'un pays
du tiers monde. Trop de maisons abandonnées au
centre ville.
Pour ces 3 jours à Bruxelles, j'avais bien préparé
notre programme de visites avec plans et guides, et
nous avons pu réaliser ce que j'avais envisagé:
découvrir le coeur de la ville y compris l'Atomium.
C'était un premier contact, donc pas de temps pour
visiter des musées dont Magritte! Ce sera une
prochaine fois. Nous avons vu tous les monuments et
quartiers intéressants.
Nous (4pers) regrettons sincèrement d'avoir réservé
à l'avance le Brussels Card (pass musée-transport) car
peu utilisé pour les musées et n'est pas accepté dans
tous les musées. Donc dépense inutile. De plus, ce
pass n'est pas disponible à notre arrivée à la Gare du
Midi. Donc obligés d'aller à pieds sur la Grand Place,
au lieu d'aller directement à l'hôtel poser les
valise.Légère perturbation dans notre organisation. il
faut différencier pass transport et musées et le
rendre dispo dès notre arrivée. De plus, en cette
période de changement de celui-ci et les infos sur le
site internet ne sont pas claires. Ce pass -onéreux
quand même- est notre seul regret, si non la ville
parait accueillante.

Very nice experiences at some restaurants and some
quaint areas ( Grand Place, Chatelain, Abbaye de la
Cambre).
Mostly very dirty city, garbage on the ground,
garbage bags lying around,grafitti. Chaotic traffic at
times. Feeling of insecurity especially in the Centresaw someone being mugged near Monnaie. Lack of
Police presence.

Brussels has a unique environment. It's the main city
in the EU, it's a centre of business, a very busy city.
But at the same time it has lots of interesting places
to visit (museums, art centers - Mini-Europe,
Autoworld, Comic Strip, Museum of Natural Science,
etc). We really liked old buildings, architecture is
amazing. We are also food lovers, so it was a
fantastic trip for us: sea food, waffles, beer - just
delicious! Public transport is easy and convenient to
use.
We were in Brussels during the holidays, so many
places of interest were just closed till the 5th of
January. We were a little upset about it. And the
opening hours confused us a bit: from 10 to 6. We
are early birds, so we had nothing to do but have a
walk, because everything is closed till 10 a.m.

The "OldMasters" exhibition at Musees Royaux des
Beaux Arts was just extraordinary.
I had a bit of a problem when I lost myself in the
downright corner of the city and the time schedule of
the trams was a bit not-so-helpful. I missed my train
to Germany, but I was very happy to book a bus
ticket and I was on my way only 6 hours later.

Some really nice areas and restaurants.
The city in general seems quite dirty and
disorganised and traffic is very bad mainly, I think,to
a huge number of works going on at the same
time.Also,some city areas do not feel very safe ( eg
Louise, Schuman for traffic, city centre for insecurity).
A further negative point is the lack of customerminded service,or lack thereof,in many stores.

I've really felt good visiting the beautiful monuments
of bruxelles. I really appleciate te quality of the
museums thet I've visited, such as the Musee du
Cinquantenaire, the Beaux Arts Museum, the Mim,
the MOOF, the Musee de la bande dessinee and the
Magritte Museum
I didn't like the atmosphere at the metro station: too
many clochard and a terrible smell of piss, I really felt
afraid of staying there

Reiseführern, die einzigartig für unsere Gruppe
waren und sehr kompetent.
Hop on Hop off Busse im Sommer sehr schlecht
organisiert mit langen Wartezeiten und
Umsteigmanövern von einem Bus in den anderen, da
scheinbar Mittagspause war. Völlig kompetenzfreies

To our great disappointment (not a value-for-money
service) as purchased 78 hour Brussels Card but
partly due to flight irregularity arrived one day late and was informed by Town Hall Tourism office
employee I could get no refund (ie instead a 48 hour
card) as it had been purchased online. I accepted,
naturally, but was faced with the inability to use
almost any needed public transportation due to New
Years celebrations and routes which did not operate
or city streets which were closed. In the end we were
only able to visit the Museum of Musical Instruments
(MIM) and received a discount at the Atomium - and
for this we paid 43 euros each. I realize this was a
special occasion but visitors should be informed
beforehand. :(

Excellent séjour. Hotel très confortable et
accueillant. Ville très agréable, où tout peut
finalement se faire à pied en 3-4 jours (nous avions
pris un pass transports en commun, que nous
n'avons pas utilisé : beaucoup plus agréable à pied,
et la ville n'est pas très étendue). Beaucoup de
plaisir à visiter des quartiers très différents (Sablon,
boutiques luxe, vieux quartiers et antiquaires etc).
L'ensemble n'a pas été très bon marché... dans la
moyenne haute des capitales européennes.

J'ai particulièrement apprécié les visites culturelles et
la gastronomie. La qualité de l'hébergement et les
petits plus pratiques comme la brussels cars.
J'ai par contre été déçu sur le plan du parking, en
effet j'avais appelé la veille de mon arrivée
interparking pour savoir s'il fallait réserver une place
dans le parking loi. On m'a répondu que ce n'était
pas nécessaire, or quand je suis arrivé le samedi
matin, le parking loi était fermé. J'ai donc du trouver
un autre parking, qui m'a coûté un peu plus cher. Et
on manquait d'information et de renseignements en
ville pour prendre le bus et le tramway.

Les bruxellois sont charmants et serviables. J'ai
passé un séjour très agréable à l'hôtel rue de la
Concorde. J'ai aussi passé un très agréable moment
au Musée Wiertz avec la personne qui m'a reçue.

Museum of Musical Instruments. Visited Sunday
21/12. Did not realise I had to queue for a ticket even
though I had a Brussels Card (in previous cities eg
Salzburg they simply scanned the card). The man
scanning the entry tickets snapped at me and
gestured abruptly to go and queue for a ticket - at
least that's what I gleaned, as I couldn't even figure
out if he was speaking French or Dutch, he spoke so
loudly and rapidly! Then when I had the ticket he
shouted at me again that I had to check in my coat.

When I got inside I discovered that the information
panels were only in Dutch and French! I went back to
the desk and asked if they had an English translation
(I thought they might have a typewritten handout or
something) The young bearded guy at the audio
guide counter said "No, there is none. We speak
French, so..." and just trailed off as if to say it was my
own fault. I heard a number of other native English
speakers in the museum, British, American and
Australian, so I doubt I was the only one struggling! I
bought the Brussels card, and I know I got "free"
entry but 12€ is a lot to pay to be treated so rudely
and left largely uninformed. I had been very much
looking forward to the visit beforehand.

Hotel gare du midi
Certaines rues mal indiquees,difficile de trouver
certains monuments,en centre ville
Had some fantastic meals - Le Wine Bar du Sablon
and Dolce Amaro were both wonderful, food and
service. MIM was a great museum, and very much
enjoyed the art museum complex. Subway system is
one of the best ever experienced in terms of signage
and cleanliness. City overall is lovely, and the
average person is friendly and welcoming.
Overall, staff in museums are at best tolerant of
visitors - concept of "customer service" seems to
have not caught on in many places, although there
were some notable exceptions in better restaurants.
Perfect example would be MIM restaurant - never
able to order & left after being ignored for 30
minutes - a big let-down after viewing such a great
collection. Train station signage terrible and staff
actively unhelpful - impatient and brusque.

In Lion Belgique, the bar/restaurant, the owner and
his family were the niecest people ever, really take
care of customers, made you feel so welcome, help u
out when u don't speak french, highly recommended.
It was 2nd or 3rd of November, In the city centre we
went to eat moles and the star of turkish/moroccian
or other nationality first said we can't share moles
ration (we wanted to try but weren't hungry enough
to take one each) and was rude, then we waited like
30min before being served (restaurant wasn't that
busy) and the they said that we can't pay by the card,
when before other member staff said we can, at the
end of day we did. it was one of those restaurants in
tiny streets near Grand Place. Very disappointed,
won't come there back...

Vorig schooljaar (november2013) hebben wij de
eerste keer een geleide rondleiding in het centrum
van Brussel geboekt voor onze leerlingen van het
zesde leerjaar lagere school. De gids en de
rondleiding waren super goed zodat we het dit jaar
opnieuw geboekt hebben, maar dit jaar was het heel
anders...!!!!
Op 17 oktober (in de namiddag) hebben wij de
historische rondleiding voor een groep van 10
kinderen ( 11 jaar )en twee begeleiders geboekt.
Hopende op dezelfde kwaliteit van vorig jaar,
kwamen wij jammer genoeg tot de conclusie dat de
dame absoluut niet gemotiveerd was en zeker aan
onze kinderen heel weinig heeft geleerd. (in SintHubertusgalerij aantal chocoladewinkels tellen,kijken
naar een etalage met speelgoed, voor een
taparestaurant halt houden, een blad met een
"doolhof" geven en de weg zoeken, een blad geven
en een menu laten opschrijven,...!!! Wij verwachten
dat de kinderen een legende van Manneke Pis,
Jeanneke Pis te horen krijgen, de kathedraal
bezoeken,uitleg bij het koninklijk paleis krijgen,...
Zelfs onze kinderen vonden de rondleiding
ondermaats ("die mevrouw stapt zo snel alsof ze ons
wou kwijtspelen" en "wat ze vertelde was voor
kleuters"!!!) en dit voor de prijs van 135 euro!! Het
was misschien mevrouw Cool "haar dagje" niet, maar
wij hebben veel betaald voor weinig! Hopelijk
kunnen we volgende keer rekenen op een
enthousiaste gids (zoals vorig schooljaar) want ik ben
ervan overtuigd dat die er zeker zijn in jullie team !!!

sympathique. Au restaurant, compétence et

Everything very expensive and no justified, ruin the
experience: 1 waffle 8 euro, 0.20 cl coca cola 4,5
euro, 1 burguer 18 euro, 0,5 l water 6,5 euro. Metro
crazy expensive. Brussels just doesnt worth it. Totally
recommend another city with normal even over
pricey but not at that level. Brussels is just a city
with a very few normal tourist spot, you can live
without seeing, not at that price again. Visiting

Athletic events in Brussels are awesome. This year's
Color Run and Belfius Marathon/Half Marathon were
outstanding and can't wait to do it again next year.
This has never been the case. Brussels is in my top 5

The public transportation system is very good, even if
some escalators in the subway where not working.
We felt very happy drinking good beers and eating
Belgian salami and cheese at Moeber Lambic (place
Fontainas). The chocolate museum is so interesting!
The luggage storage at the central station is very
useful. The Brussels Card is GREAT! We loved MiniEurope.
Beer Museum at Grand-Place : only 2 kind of beers
and no explanation at all about them. There are too
many beggars (even with children and/or animals).
The town is a bit dirty.

We are staying at the Hotel Van Belle, Near the
clemenseau Metro station. The hotel is antique,
awful, there is no Free wifi, the breakfast is very very
poor, but al least is kind of clean. The wrost is the
neighbour the hotel located! It,s full of immigrants
and you can,t walk alone not even in the morning!
This hotel must be shut down, because they are
kidding people through their photos on the Internet!
Shame on them! We are really disapointed and can,t
wait to get back home!

gebracht een levend museum als het ware met een

Kon.Erkend Chevremonts Mannenkoor 1912 alleen
maar lof gekregen van de deelnemers. 28/09 naar
Grimbergen abdij H-Mis opgeluisterd met ons
koor.Leuke dag in Grimbergen gehad,Fenikshof menu
etc.Grimbergen biermuseum.
Indien men Tel.info opvraagt bij Visit Brussel Guide
Tour en men neemt dan de keuze voor
Nederlandstalig krijgt men ineens eens Franstalig
bandgesprek te horen waarna de verbinding wordt

Nous avons cherché le musée Scientastic (toujours
mentionné surtout sur les panneaux touristiques
pour piétons !) pendant deux heures alors qu'il a
fermé il y a deux ans... Il faut actualiser la
signalisation ! Par ailleurs les musées sont très chers,
ce qui limite les visites.

The hotel and places that I visited have a very good
staff, very polite and helpful. The city is very
beautiful.
I'm really disappointed with the city in many
respects. I've already travelled for several European
contries and never felt so insecure as I did in
Brussels. For 3 times I was asked for money: at the
supermarket, in the Street and at the train station.
Moreover, the streets are quite dirty. But this is not
the worst: I was stolen!!! I left some luggages at the
locker located at Brussels Midi train station and
when I came back to pick them up 10 days later, it
was missing about 200€ in purchases, including
chocolates (that were gifts for my family and friends),
makeup and cosmetics. That's an absurd!!! I filled up
a form on train station reporting what happened and
they didn't answer me yet! This happened last
monday (29/09/2014). Because of this, I do not
recommend anyone to visit Brussels and I'm really
sorry about that because it's an amazing city.

Het ontdekken van Brussel op de fiets was een ideale
manier, het is een schitterende stad. De glooiingen
maken het fietsen wel behoorlijk sportief. Dit kwam
weer goed uit gezien de copieuze en heerlijke lunch
bij Pei & Mei in de wijk Sablon. Schitterende glas-inlood ramen van de St. Michiel kathedraal. Een
overdaad aan historische gebouwen en een goede
sfeer. Zoveel te zien dat we Manneken Pis helemaal
zijn vergeten. Dus we moeten nog een keer terug.
Het aangeklampt worden in de Beenhouwersstraat
door de vele restauranthouders vond ik niet
aangenaam. De onduidelijke informatie bij het
fietsenverhuurstation van Villo en de reactie van
Villo wanneer je dat kenbaar maakt.

Door ziekte waren we genoodzaakt onze trip naar
Brussel uit te stellen. 3 dagen vooraf werd het hotel,
het restaurant en de toeristische dienst in kennis
gesteld dat onze trip verplaatst werd naar oktober.
Noch het hotel noch het restaurant rekenden
annulatie kosten aan. Voor de gids moest wel de
helft van het bedrag betaald worden
niettegenstaande de gidsbeurt verplaats werd. Op
verschillende mails kwam er geen reactie van de
toeristische dienst. Na telefonisch contact bleek dat
verschillende mails spoorloos waren,
niettegenstaande het antwoord een reply was. Is dat
de klantvriendelijkheid van Brussel, hoofdstad van
Europa?

Dear Sir or Maddam, yesterday my wife and I
visited for a daytrip Brussels. We didn´t informed us
about the city, because we wanted to go to the
tourist information center. We wanted to go into the
city by metro. So we drove to the P+R Roodebeek.
One kilometre ante the parking space we weren´t
allowed to drive to the parking space because of the
special day Brussels without cars. So we parked our
car and went to the metro station Roodebeek. When
we entered the station we haven´t seen any special
sign or something like this. Therefore we went to the
ticket automat and bought two day tickets for the
metro. After we paid a friendly woman told us that
we don´t have to pay. She said today the go by metro
is for-free. Unfortunately we had allready paid our
tickets. After this conversation we looked for a sign
which should indicate us about this information, but
we weren´t able to find something like this. After
this we went by metro until grand-central. Then we
looked for a ticket counter and found one. There
were two men sitting. We asked him, if it is fine to
talk english and he answered yes. So we told him
about the happening and asked if we could return
the tickets. He said we should use the ticket the next
day. Because of this we explained that we could only
visit the city for this day and therefore we don´t
needed a ticket for the next day. After this he just
shruged his shoulders and didn´t say anything. So we
tried to explain again we can´t use the ticket and
then he only answered at french. Because we don´t
speak french we wanted to go. After we turned he
began to speak much louder and sounded aggressive.
We don´t know if he really offended us, but we are
really sure. After this we wery very suprised about
this behavoiur and went to the tourist information
center. There we met a very friendly man. He told
us about we should go to the central station. So we
told him what was happened and he was kind of
upset. So he for the behavour of this men. He was
also very suprised that there were no signs about the
priceless going by metro and bus.He said he would
like to give us the money back but he can´t. So he
gave us this adress to contact. All after this we
went to your beautiful city and enjoined the day.
When we decided tr drive back home again we
wanted to look for some signs at another metro
station. We were at metro station Maalbeek. And
again we couldn´t find any hints for the free-goingby-metro. The only thing we saw were two other
tourist. We noticed that they stand in front of the
ticket automat and talked about it. We explained
them, that they don´t need to buy a ticket. They also
didn´t knew this fact and were very happy we told
them. So we recognized that we were not the only
tourists who bought or wanted to buy a ticket. Then
we went to the rails and we looked up to the screen
about information for the ride. There we saw for the
first time that going by metro is for free. When I saw
this I thought: Why is this the only place for this
information can bee seen. Because you have to buy
the tickets at the beginning and not at the rails. And
why is this information not be presented in english? I
don´t think I would understand the message if it is
only presented in french or dutch. After this we
drove back home. Now I write to inform you about
this happening. And I also wanted to ask if it is
possible to return our tickets? I still got the tickets
and thew receipt of my payment. Shall I send the
tickets back to you or what will happen next?
Thanks for your answering. I would prefer an answer
written in german, but english would also be okay.

Au musée Horta, au musée Magritte, dans la plupart
des restaurants ou cafés où nous nous sommes
arrêtés.
Au musée fin de siècle qui ferme hélas trop tôt
(comme les autres musées d'ailleurs). Une fermeture
à 18h00 serait la bienvenue, surtout en été.

As Belgium is the country of beer, so Brussels has a
lot of fantastic places for beer lovers. Our favourite
ones were 'Braiserie de Lombard' and 'Moeder
Lambic'. We felt particularly welcome in Br.Lombard.
We were a bit disappointed about the cleanliness:
streets weren't so clean as expected, taking into
account we were in the Capital of Europe.

im Chez Leon zum Mittagessen und waren alle voll
zufrieden. Der Service und das Essen waren gut. Die
Getränkepreise sind allerdings überall sehr hoch. Die

interessant. Der Guide hat uns gut informiert und die

We purchased the Brussels card and when we
collected it we asked if it could be used for the town
hall balcony to view the flower carpet. It could not,
so we queued up and paid for the town hall
balcony,then when we realised that the city of
Brussels museum balcony also overlooked the flower
carpet and this was in the Brussels card (with a 1.50
euro supplement) we were cross that we hadn't been
given this information as the queue was very long for
the Town Hall, and we didn't need to pay the 5 euro.
The ti office on the Place Royal should have given us
this information.
Tout simplement lors de ballades dans la ville,
restaurant et bar.
Un peu de pluie, mais ça on n'y peut rien !

Le mardi 19/08 soir, lorsqu'avec ma copine nous
sommes allé à la Porte Noire déguster de la bière
locale dans une taverne à l'ancienne ainsi que le
lendemain au Délirium café, deux soirées très
sympathiques et mémorables!

Malgré un temps plusieurs et grâce à la carte
"Brussels card" nous avons pu rayonné sur tout
Bruxelles avec visite de l’Atomium, le musée du
chocolat, le musée Magritte, le musée de la musique,
visite à pied de la ville... mais pas le temps de faire
tout ce que nous avions envisagé faute d'avoir
préparé correctement ce séjour par manque
d'information. En effet, je pensais recevoir la Card à
mon domicile avec les différentes brochures mais il
nous a fallu les récupérer à la gare du Midi en
arrivant et là pas facile de trouver l'office du touriste
dans cette gare où les informations ne sont pas très
bien indiquées.
LA GROSSE DÉCEPTION ! Le camping "A ciel ouvert"
situé à Ixelles. Il est HONTEUX pour une ville comme
Bruxelles d'avoir un camping de ce STANDING,
sanitaires dans un état de CRASSE, douches avec des
rideaux sales, les bacs à douche et les toilettes ne
sont pas nettoyés ou de façon très superficielle ! Lors
de notre séjour, des groupes de jeunes en camps de
vacances au vue de l'hygiène des lieux sont repartis
alors qu'ils devaient séjourner plusieurs jours ! Le
Jardin qui, d'après les publicités sur le net, est un
havre de paix en plein centre ville, est plutôt
assimilable à une décharge publique avec des gravas,
des tas de ferraille autour du terrain, des poubelles
débordantes de cadavres de bouteilles (il est vrai que
l'on pratique le tri sélectif dans ce camping) ... Je
possède des photos que je tiens à votre disposition.
Tout cela pour 30,00 € la nuit pour deux personnes à
payer EN ESPÈCES ! La seule chose positive, c'est
l'accueil de la jeune fille très sympathique, même si
elle n'a pas su gérer le manque d'eau chaude tout
une journée et qu'elle a attendu que tout le monde
se fâche pour réagir et appelé les "patrons" ! Je dois
préciser que le camping est PLEIN TOUS LES SOIRS
avec un va et vient tous les jours de touristes qui
partent et arrivent. Je vous laisse imaginer la
déception de tous ! Autre laïus, la propreté de vos
rues ! Nous avons trouvé que Bruxelles est sale !
Papiers, déchets partout dans les rues. Nous avons
séjourné, lors d'un voyage à vélo avec mon époux en
cyclotourisme en 2012, à GAND puis à BRUGES, où
nous avons trouvé des campings dignes de ce nom.
Je pense qu'il serait souhaitable que Bruxelles face
un effort de ce côté, tout le monde n'a pas les
moyens de se payer un hôtel !

I had a great experience of the city in the time that I
spent there.
I believe that Brussels could benefit from more
signposts letting people know that do not stay in the
centre which how to get there and general direction
of key attractions, as there was very few around.

Durant le mois d'août, durant les visites du Mim, de
Magritte, des musées royaux, BSF Maison Horta tour
audioguidé (pl Ste Catherine, les Marolles et la
Grand Place) + le tour en bus découvert
Je n'ai jamais trouvé la maison de Magritte (travaux
aux alentours, un panneau indicateur puis plus rien
abandon après quelquesssss KM , l'accessibilité Wifi
(gratuite) est assez pauvre.

Arrivée pour la fête nationale et à la sortie du métro
place Ste Gudule fut le début d'une aventure qui a
duré 4 jours.

In my visit (from 13/08/2014 to 20/08/2014) I liked
very much: 1. Musical instruments museum and the
Old England (Brussels) 2.Museum of Natural
Sciences (Bruxelles) 3.A lot of churches were
beautiful (Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Brussels) 4. Food
and drinks (especially beer and chocolate) 5.Visits to
the canals of the city of Bruges and Ghent 6. Flemish
architecture 7. The Rubens House (Antwerp) 8.
Plantin-Moretusmuseum (Antwerp) 9.Grote Markt
(Antwerp)
1. Shops close too early 2. The cuisine of pubs, bars
and restaurants closes too early and it is a problem
for many tourists 3. there was too much dirt on the
street. The shops closed early and left by the 18 bags
full of trash in front of their shop. Which made the
city a dump, in particular Brussels

We used the Brussels Card to visit. It was an
excellent deal and allowed us to visit many museums
without feeling the need to stay 3 hours to get "our
money's worth". We were able to see a lot in a short
time. Special congrats to the manager of the Beer
Museum at "La Grande Place" He was very friendly
and fun.
Loved the city and the ambiance.

I had a really lovely chat with the shopkeeper at a
small cheese and sandwich shop that had the most
amazing products on 1st September. I also very much
enjoyed the Atomium.
Unfortunately, the exhibition at the Atomium was
closed when I visited on 1st September. It would've
been really great to have known that beforehand and
I would've come at a different date. The Magritte
and Fin de siècle Museums were very interesting,
however it was very cold in the exhibitions and I
ended up rushing through and not making the most
out of my visit because I'd left my coat in the locker.
It would be great to advise visitors of the low
temperature in the exhibition halls in the locker
room so you can take a coat or jacket. At the Musee
Horta I noticed that there seemed to be a whole half
of the house that wasn't open for visitors. Assuming
this was the servants' part of the house it would've
been terrific to be able to explore this and learn
more about the way Horta's family actually lived
here as servants were an integral part of daily life.
What's more, I felt that the focus of the exhibition
here was more on the design than on the
architecture. It would've been great to be able to
understand better how the rooms slot together and
everything is laid out using blueprints or any other
kind of information.

En visitant immeubles art déco et centre bande
déssinée

I really enjoyed exploring Grand Place and trying
different types of food, especially Belgian chocolates!
The aquarium staff too were really helpful in helping
us find attractions we wanted to visit afterwards.
