At information events involving several languages, there will be one or two cultural mediators per language present. –– Learners from each particular language group report on their experiences of choosing a career and searching for an apprenticeship (only at events with one language group). Target group –– Parents of young people of career-choosing age (1st–3rd secondary school years) –– Young people in secondary school –– Other family members and interested parties Goals –– Young people and their parents become familiar with the road- map for choosing a career, the Swiss education system, and the importance of basic vocational education (apprenticeship with or without Professional Baccalaureate BM). –– Parents are familiar with the range of services offered by the Job Information Centres (biz) and know where they can obtain support if necessary. Registration with registration card or at www.berufsberatung.zh.ch/integras. Attendance is free. Integras events in English during the school year 2016/2017 Saturday, 05 November 2016, 09.30–12.00, at biz Uster Thursday, 10 November 2016, 19.00–21.00, at biz Winterthur Wednesday, 25 January 2017, 19.00–21.00, at biz Urdorf Careers advisers support pupils in the process of choosing a career. Interests, abilities, wishes and expectations are clarified in one or more joint discussions. Parents are usually present as well. Depending on the individual, interest, ability and/or personality tests are carried out. Careers advisers also help with applications or give tips for the apprenticeship search. Adults can also clarify questions regarding further training or reorientation wishes with vocational, study and careers advisers. Objectives and possible solutions are developed jointly. If necessary, they can also make use of targeted coaching. Advisers also carry out suitability, interest or personality tests on request. For personal individual guidance it is necessary to register with your regional Job Information Centre (biz).
