HELVECO A brilliant history of success and a worldwide reputation
which started over 70 years ago, in 1939, in Biel (Bienne), Switzerland - the
cradle of the Swiss watch making industry.
1939 was the year that Arthur Imhof, who was then the Managing Director of
the Manufacture de Pendulettes d’Art Arthur Imhof, launched a brand “which
would go down in the history of Swiss watch making”. He called it HELVECO
in reference to the old name of his mother country, Helvetia, attributed to it
when it was founded in 1291 and used until the creation of Switzerland that
has succeeded so well from the 17th century up until the present day in turning the craft and skill of watch making into a true art.
As soon as they appeared on the market, HELVECO clocks and watches gained a
reputation for excellent quality. Although at first the timepieces only indicated the hours and minutes, many special devices were subsequently added such
as striking mechanisms and alarms, thanks to which they became references of
both beauty and technology not only in Europe, but also in Asia, Japan, and
North and South America.
The team behind HELVECO of today has set itself the aim of perpetuating the
approach adopted by the founder of HELVECO located in Biel (Bienne), at the
heart of an area of Switzerland which has produced generations of master
watchmakers, HELVECO is the heir guarantor of Imhof’s watch making skill.
Emphasizing on every small detail and aiming at technical perfection, the brand
also pays attention to the beauty of its products and the choice of materials
used. HELVECO is indeed a brand that typifies the distinction and high quality
of Swiss watch making.
In the year 2004, HELVECO was acquired by Mr. Rabih Aljord, who took charge
of reviving the brand by bringing more life using different concept designers
from various European countries the aim of which is the maintenance the true
European Spirit.
Besides the use of a Swiss designer who has a touch from the brands origin,
a French and an Italian designer were involved to complete the elements of
beauty, luxury and precision.
The injection of life to the HELVECO brand was then made possible by taking
the decision of adding writing instruments, leather goods, and accessories
for both ladies and gents and forming the new product mix that gives it a
unique character of multi product brand with luxury outlook for daily living.

HISTORIE
HELVECO – die Erfolgsgeschichte der Marke begann vor 70 Jahren in Biel
in der Schweiz. Von hier aus, der Wiege des Schweizer Uhrmacherhandwerks,
gelangte HELVECO zu weltweitem Ruhm.
Im Jahre 1939 schuf Arthur Imhof, der damals Manager der Firma “Manufacture de Pendulettes `d’Art Arthur Imhof” war, eine neue Marke, die “in die
Geschichte des Schweizer Uhrmacherhandwerks eingehen sollte”. Er nannte
sie HELVECO, nach dem alten Namen seiner Heimat, Helvetia.
Der Ruf exzellenter Qualität begleitete die Marke HELVECO schon vom ersten Augenblick an, als ihre Stand- und Taschenuhren auf dem Markt kamen,
obwohl diese zu Beginn nur Stunden und Minuten anzeigten. Später wurden
viele zusätzliche Vorrichtungen, wie Alarm und besondere Mechanismen, hinzugefügt. Diese Neuerungen wurden Sinnbilder sowohl für Schönheit als
auch für Technologie – nicht nur in Europa, sondern weltweit in Asien und
Amerika.
1998 trat HELVECO der “Swiss Watch General Trading Co.” bei, die sich
dieselben Ziele wie der Gründer der Marke gesetzt hatte. HELVECO mit Sitz
in Biel, dem Herzen des Schweizer Uhrmacherhandwerks, bürgt so für die
Fortführung der besonderen uhrmacherischen Fertigkeiten im Sinne Arthur
Imhofs. Jedem kleinsten Detail wird besondere Aufmerksamkeit mit dem Ziel
technischer Perfektion gewidmet. Darüber hinaus legt die Marke großen
Wert auf die Schönheit ihrer Produkte und die Wahl der verwendeten Materialien. HELVECO verkörpert auf diese Weise die ausgezeichnete und besonders
hohe Qualität der Schweizer Uhrmacherkunst.
Als im Jahre 2004 Rabih Aljord mit der von ihm gegründeten und unter
seiner Leitung befindlichen Firma Chronograph Int`L Co. mit dem Tochterunternehmen CIC Germany GmbH Helveco übernahm, beschloss er die Marke
neu zu beleben, indem er unter Mitwirkung europäische Designer verschiedene
gestalterische Konzepte vereinte und so den europäischen Geist der Marke
bewahrte. Designer aus der Schweiz, Frankreich und Italien perfektionierten
so die Schönheit, den Luxus und die Präzision der Marke.
2006 entwickelte sich HELVECO nochmals weiter. Schreibutensilien, Lederwaren und Accessoires bereichern seitdem die Produktpalette. Diese Produktmischung macht den einmaligen Charakter der Marke aus.
