In case you already have some questions, we created this little folder with
frequently asked questions (FAQ) for you:

Please make sure team members are wearing the wristband at all times. Access to the venue
without wristband will not be granted. In case of removal or loss, team members will have to buy
a ticket at the ticket counter at their own expense. You find our ticket fees under “Admission”.

For security reasons, only dancers, backstage pass holders and press will have access to backstage
areas.
Costuming
Referring to the official “IDO Dance Sport Rules & Regulations” (January 2014 release), the
costuming has to meet certain standards: “Costumes must cover the intimate parts of the
dancer’s body during the whole performance. […] Children should be encouraged to dress as
children and not like teens and adults. […] Costume materials that suggest sexual, deviate,
sadomasochistic or other adult themes are prohibited in the children’s division.” Violations may
result in disqualification.

There are two dancefloors for all solo, duo and small group competitions.
There is one dancefloor for formations and production.
Enter (right side)
All dancers meet on the right side of the dance floor (looking from the tribunes). In case that
assistance is needed, our security will guide you to the correct side.
Exit (left side)
All dancers leave the dancefloor to the left and exit the Grand Hall through the closest doors.
Start Times

Please make sure all dancers are ready and in full costume at least 60 minutes

Certificate:

Every contestant will get a certificate including the ranking approximately within 90 minutes after
elimination. Please see staff members at the check-in counter in the entrance hall of the venue.
Certificates are the official proof of ranking (Finalists will get the certificates at the winner’s
ceremony) and given only to the Team-Captains.

Due to the higher sound volume during the contest, ear-protection will be available at the checkin counter or with first aid staff for free.
First Aid:
First aid staff is on duty at all times during the competition. Positioned next to the dance floor,
they are approachable in any case of help or assistance needed. If an accident occurs, the injured
person might be brought to the closest hospital. This may create further expenses, which have to
be covered by a valid health insurance or in cash.
Food & Beverage:

The food outlets at RuhrCongress Bochum offer daily changing meals for € 6.00. To provide a faster
service at the outlets, meals have to be pre-paid at the cash counter at ground level, next to the
elevators. Due to this service, leaving the event for lunch will not be necessary.

IDOIDO-LicenseLicense- Book:

All dancers – solos, duos, small groups, formations and productions – have to be registered with
the IDO. Registration is handled through DIES, the “IDO Direct Internet Enrolment System”. Each
country’s team captain has to pay the outstanding license fees of € 20.00 per dancer with the IDO
head office before entering the competition. Payments can be made within the check-in
timeframe. After the payment has been made, the IDO-license-book is available at the IDO head
office.

Stamps for the IDO-license book are provided at the check in.

The IDO-Scruteneering team “TTC” (Jessica Langner, Michael Kohnen and Oliver Klein) from
Bochum uses the international and IDO-registered TOP-TURNIER System created by Stephan
Rath.

The official IDO language is English. Therefore, the whole competition will be hosted in English
language. This includes all communication or any written information.
Liability:
The organizer of the event, Bochumer-Veranstaltungs-GmbH, disclaims all liability for:

Missing or stolen items inside the venue
Any damages to personal property
Loss of personal items left unattended
Personal items left unattended in any public space, including backstage areas, wardrobes or
restrooms increase the risk of theft or loss. Therefore we suggest that you make sure to keep an
eye on your personal belongings at all times.

This year’s live stream will be available on www.hiphopworld-bochum.de and is free of charge.

Lost & Found:
Lost & Found will be provided at the check-in counter, on the ground floor within the entrance
hall of RuhrCongress Bochum.
Merchandising:
Merchandising :
Find the greatest new gear and souvenirs at the official merchandise outlets in the entrance hall
of the venue. The official merchandise of this year’s event is brought to you by “go4show –by
Sven Seewald” and will be available during opening times.
Opening Hours:
Please be aware that due to technical set-up of the equipment, there will be no admission to the
Grand Hall of RuhrCongress Bochum on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014.
During the event the venue opens daily one (1) hour before the first competition of the day.

Parking is available next to the RuhrCongress Bochum. Easily accessible and in walking-distance
to the venue, “Parkhaus Stadionring” offers enough space for cars and busses for as little as €
10.00 per day.

Busses may stop directly in front of the main entrance of RuhrCongress Bochum for passengers to
disembark. Parking in front of the main entrance is permitted due to safety reasons.

Presentation of

The official welcoming ceremony “Presentation of the Nations” will be held on Saturday,
September 27th, 2014 approximately around 06.00 PM.

Results can be found online on the IDO website under www.ido-dance.com. Result lists and
scruteneering tables will be automatically e-mailed to participating IDO-nations after the end of
the event.
Safety:
Safety:
Safety is our top priority. For fire-safety reasons, the use of heating equipment of any kind is
strictly prohibited within the venue.
Schedule:
During the entire event, we recommend you to keep checking the official schedule. It will be
continuously updated to provide you with the most current information available. You will find
the schedule next to the check in counter. All times are approximate and subject to change due
to the total number of participants enrolled. Changes will also be announced on the floor.

Security:
For the safety of our teams and guests, security will be around at all times. The security staff has
access to all areas including the wardrobes. For identification reasons they will randomly check
on wristbands. Anyone found in safety areas without wristbands or backstage passports will be
asked to leave the property immediately.
Team Captain’s Contacts:
Team captains will be asked to leave their cell phone number while checking in. This is in case
that the organization team will have to inform you about possible time changes or any issues
concerning a team or team members.
Videotaping
Private videotaping is permitted within the Grand Hall.
Visibility
Clearly visible from every seat in the Grand Hall, the dancefloor takes center stage at the IDO
World Championships in HipHop, Breakdance & Electric Boogie 2014 at RuhrCongress Bochum.
The seating is designed to give the best view to the most seats at all times. Therefore, we kindly
ask you to consider the following information:

While waiting, teams and team members will be allowed close to the dancefloor, but should
remain seated at all times during the competition.
Due to safety reasons, running is not permitted within the dancefloor area or sight lines.

The winner ceremony will take place after the finals. All finalists will be honored with a medal and
