Banif – Banco Internacional do Funchal, S.A. informs on the
conclusion of the sale of its shareholding in Banif Mais SGPS,
S.A.
In accordance and for the purposes of article 248 of the Portuguese Securities Code, Banif
– Banco Internacional do Funchal, S.A. (Banif) informs that it concluded the sale of Banif’s
85,92% participation in the share capital of Banif Mais SGPS, S.A., the holding company
that owns 100% of the share capital of Banco Banif Mais, S.A., to Cofidis Participations,
S.A., a company incorporated in France, being the price of the sale of the total share
capital of Banif Mais SGPS, S.A. 400,000,000.00 (four hundred million) Euros.
This transaction is aligned with Banif’s strategic plan and is expected to have a positive
impact on the consolidated capital ratios of Banif, namely an increase in fully phased-in
Common Equity Tier 1 (CET 1) ratio of 98 basis points (bps), and an increase of fully
implemented CET 1 ratio of 126 bps.
Banif will maintain with Banco Banif Mais, S.A. a strategic partnership in the specialised
credit segment for auto loans and finance.
