Dr.
Ronny Baber
Dr. Baber studierte Biochemie an der Universität Leipzig. Während seiner
Dissertation am Institut für Laboratoriumsmedizin, Klinische Chemie und
Molekulare Diagnostik begann er seine Arbeit als Koordinator der LIFE-Biobank
am Leipziger Forschungszentrum für Zivilisationserkrankungen (LIFE). Nach der
Beendigung seiner Doktorarbeit erwarb er einen M.Sc. in "Clinical Research and
Translational Medicine" an der Universität Leipzig. Er ist nun Koordinator der
LIFE-Biobank und des LIFE-Präanalytiklabors. Herr Baber ist Mitglied in der
ESBB und DGKL.
Dr. Baber studied biochemistry at the University of Leipzig. During his
dissertation at the Institute of Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Chemistry, and
Molecular Diagnostics he started to work as coordinator of the LIFE-Biobank at
the “LIFE – Leipzig Research Center for Civilisation Diseases”. After finishing his
Ph.D. thesis he did a M.Sc. in “Clinical Research and Translational Medicine” at
the University of Leipzig. He is now coordinator of the LIFE-Biobank and the
LIFE-preanalytical laboratory. He is member of the ESBB and the DGKL.
PD Dr.
Dirk Bausch
PD Dr. Bausch ist Facharzt für Chirurgie und spezielle Viszeral-chirurgie und
leitender Oberarzt im Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Lübeck.
Nach dem Studium an der Universität Heidelberg erfolgte die
Facharztausbildung am Universitätsklinikum Freiburg sowie dem Massachusetts
General Hospital und der Harvard Medical School. Sein Spezialgebiet ist die
Therapie und Diagnostik von Erkrankungen der Pankreas. PD Dr. Bausch
engagiert sich bei der Pankreasforschung.
PD Dr. Bausch is a general and visceral surgeon and assistant medical director
at the Department of Surgery at the Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein,
Campus Lübeck. After studying at the university of Heidelberg, he continued his
medical studies at the Universitätsklinikum Freiburg and the Massachusetts
General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. His specialty is therapy/diagnostic of
pancreatic disease. PD Dr. Bausch is active in the field of pancreatic research.

Stefan Becker
Dr. Becker arbeitet als Oberarzt am Universitätsklinikum Essen. Neben einer
Facharztausbildung zum Arzt für Innere Medizin und Nephrologie ist er
Diabetologe und absolvierte einen Master in Business Administration an der
Open University in Großbritannien. Sein wissenschaftlicher Fokus ist die
interdisziplinäre Entwicklung und Untersuchung innovativer Konzepte zum
Therapie- und Arzneitherapie-management bei chronisch kranken Patienten
(www.i-ats.de).
Dr. Becker works as clinical physician at the University Hospital Essen. He
specialized in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Diabetology. He completed
postgraduate business studies at The Open University (UK). His research
activity focuses on the development and evaluation of novel strategies to
improve drug-therapy and -safety (www.i-ats.de).

Valentin Blank
Valentin Blank ist Arzt in Weiterbildung für Innere Medizin am Uniklinikum
Leipzig in der Klinik für Gastroenterologie und Rheumatologie. Er studierte
Humanmedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität in Gießen und promoviert an
der Philipps-Universität in Marburg über Kontrastmittelultraschall der Milz.
Valentin Blank is an assistant doctor for internal medicine at the university
hospital of Leipzig in the department of gastroenterology and rheumatology.
Dr.
Johannes Böer
Dr. Böer arbeitet als Stellvertretender Ärztlicher Leiter in der Zentralen
Notaufnahme Reutlingen. Als Facharzt für Chirurgie und Unfallchirurgie hat
er früh die Bedeutung der Notfallsonographie für die Weichenstellung und
Sofortdiagnostik von Patienten in der Notaufnahme erkannt und sich für die
Weiterbildung von Ärzten in diesem Bereich engagiert. Er ist aktives Mitglied
im Arbeitskreis Notfallsonographie der DEGUM und Referent und Tutor bei
Ultraschallkursen.
Dr. Böer works as an emergency physician in the ED in Reutlingen. He is
involved in the teaching and education of emergency ultrasound.
PD Dr.
Ole-A. Breithardt
PD Dr. Breithardt ist Facharzt für Kardiologie und Chefarzt an den
AGAPLESION Diakonie Kliniken Kassel. Die Facharztausbildung erfolgte an
der RWTH Aachen, wo er 2004 mit dem Thema "Echokardiographie bei
kardialer Resynchronisationstherapie" habilitierte. Seit Beginn seiner
klinischen Tätigkeit ist die Echokardiographie sein wissenschaftlicher
Schwerpunkt. Mitautor von internationalen Leitlinien zur CRT Therapie.
PD Dr. Breithardt is a board certified cardiologist and Head of Cardiology at
the AGAPLESION Diakonie Kliniken Kassel. He received post-graduate
medical training at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital, where he became
Assistant Professor (Priv.-Doz.) in 2004 with a habilitation thesis on
"Echocardiography in cardiac resynchonisation therapy". Clinical
echocardiography is his scientific focus, Dr. Breithardt is Co-Author of
international Guidelines for cardiac resynchonisation therapy.
Dr.
Sebastian Buhl
Dr. Buhl ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Ostbayerischen
Technischen Hochschule in Weiden. Er studierte Biologie an der Universität
Erlangen und promovierte dort 2010 am Lehrstuhl für Genetik. Dr. Buhl
arbeitete bis 2013 als klinischer Diagnostiker im Bereich Mikrobiologie.
Anschließend wechselte er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an die
Hochschule in Weiden und forscht dort im Fachbereich Medizintechnik zum
Themenbereich "Hygiene und Medizintechnik".
Dr. Buhl is a research fellow at the university of applied sciences in Weiden.
He studied biology at the University of Erlangen and received his doctorate in
2010 at the Department of Genetics. Until 2013 Dr. Buhl worked as a clinical
diagnostician in microbiology. He then joined the university in Weiden as a
research assistant in the Department of Medical Engineering and works on
the topic of "hygiene and medical engineering".

Prof. Dr. med.
Clemens Bulitta
Prof. Dr. Bulitta ist seit 2012 Professor für Diagnostische Systeme und
Medizintechnikmanagement an der OTH Amberg-Weiden. Er leitet dort das
Institut für Medizintechnik. Nach dem Studium der Medizin in Heidelberg,
USA und der Schweiz promovierte er 1994 an der Universität Heidelberg.
Nach Weiterbildung in der Chirurgie an den Universitätsklinika Essen und
Mainz, schloss sich ein zweijähriger Forschungsaufenthalt als DFGStipendiat an der Harvard Medical School an. Von 2001 bis 2012 war er in
verschiedenen Managementpositionen für Siemens Healthcare tätig.
Prof. Dr. Bulitta is appointed Professor Diagnostic Systems and Medical
Technology Management at OTH Amberg-Weiden. He is the chair of the
Institute for Medical Engineering there. He went to Medical School in
Heidelberg, USA and Switzerland and holds a PhD from Heidelberg
University. After residency training at Essen and Mainz University hospitals
he completed a 2 year research fellowship as DFG-scholar at Harvard
Medical School. Between 2001 and 2012 he worked for Siemens Healthcare
in various management positions.

Prof. Dr. Burwinkel leitet die Professur Molekularbiologie des Brustkrebs an
der Universitätsfrauenklinik Heidelberg und die Forschungseinheit Molekulare
Epidemiologie am Deutschen Krebs-forschungszentrum (DKFZ) Heidelberg.
Sie studierte Humanbiologie an der Medizinischen Fakultät in Marburg,
promovierte dort 1998 zum Dr. rer. hum. und habilitierte 2006 in Heidelberg.
Seit 2006 leitete sie die Helmholtz-Universitäts-Nachwuchsgruppe am DKFZ /
Universität Heidelberg und seit 2008 die Stiftungsprofessur Molekularbiologie
des Brustkrebs. Schwerpunkte: Genetik von BC & molekulare Blut-basierte
Marker.
Barbara Burwinkel is head of the Molecular Biology of Breast Cancer Unit at
the University Clinic Heidelberg and the Molecular Epidemiology Unit at the
German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. She studied Human
Biology at the medical faculty in Marburg, did her PhD 1998 and her
habilitation 2006 in Heidelberg. Since 2006 she is junior group leader of the
Helmholtz University Group and since 2008 head of the founder
professorship Molecular Biology of Breast Cancer. Her research focus:
genetics of breast cancer and blood -based molecular marker for early
detection and prognosis of BC.

Dr.
Björn Busse
Dr. Busse leitet eine DFG geförderte ‘Emmy Noether-Forschungsgruppe‘ am
Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf. Busse und Team analysieren die
zellulären, kompositionellen und strukturellen Eigenschaften des
Knochengewebes, die dem Knochen seine charakteristische Materialqualität
und Frakturresistenz verleihen. Die Forschung zur Knochenqualität soll
Perspektiven aufzeigen, die bei der Suche nach neuen
Behandlungsmöglichkeiten von Skeletterkrankungen helfen. Dr. Busse war
Post-Doc an der University of California, Berkeley und wurde 2014 mit dem
‘ASBMR-John Haddad Award‘ ausgezeichnet.
Dr. Busse is head of the Bioengineering / Medical Technology division at the
University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, where he directs an Emmy
Noether-Research Group. His research focuses on osteology and
biomechanics, with an emphasis on the structural and compositional
properties of bone in health and disease. His work has been recognized with
several awards, including a fellowship at the University of California-Berkeley
and prizes on behalf of international bone research societies.
Dr.
Emanuel Delamarche
Dr. Delamarche ist Experte der Mikrofluidik und Nanotechnologie. Er leitet die
"Precision Diagnostic" Gruppe bei IBM Research - Zurich. Den Doktor in
Biochemie erhielt er 1995 für seine Arbeit in der Oberflächen-strukturierung
von Proteinen. Als Wissenschaftler bei IBM beschäftigte er sich danach mit
Lithographie, Oberflächenchemie und Mikrofluidik, wo er mit der
Miniaturisierung von biologischen Tests Pionierarbeit leistete und zahlreiche
Auszeichnungen erhielt. Des Weiteren unterrichtet er an der ETH Zürich im
Departement Gesundheitswissenschaften und Technologie.
Dr. Delamarche is an expert on microfluidics and nanobiotechnology and
currently leads the Precision Diagnostics group at IBM Research - Zurich. He
obtained a PhD on biochemistry in 1995 for work done at IBM on the
patterning of proteins on surfaces. He then pursued research as a research
staff member at IBM on lithography, surface chemistry and microfluidics,
where he pioneered several concepts for miniaturizing biological assays and
received numerous awards. In addition, he is a Lecturer at ETH Zurich in the
department of Health Sciences and Technologies.

Ulrich Dietz
Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietz studierte Humanmedizin in Curitiba (Brasilien). Er ist
Facharzt für Chirurgie und Viszeralchirurgie. Master of Science 1992 (UFPR,
Brasilien), Promotion 1994 (Medizin in Würzburg) und 1995 (Chirurgie an der
UFPR). Seit 2004 Oberarzt an der Chirurgischen Klinik I des
Universitätsklinikums Würzburg (UKW). 2007 Habilitation für das Fach
Chirurgie, 2013 ApL an der JMU. Er ist Lehrbeauftragter der Chir. Klinik I und
seit 2013 Stellvertreter des Studiendenkans. Prof. Dietz ist Leiter der Sektion
Hernienchirurgie an der Chirurgischen Klinik I des UKW.
Ulrich Dietz, MD, MSc, PhD is a graduate of medicine of FEMPAR (Brazil).
MSc degree 1992 at UFPR (Brazil), doctors degree 1994 in Wuerzburg
(Germany) and PhD 1995 (UFPR). General- and Visceral Surgeon. Since

Cornelia Dotzenrath
Prof. Dotzenrath ist Ärztin für spezielle Viszeralchirurgie und Endokrine
Chirurgie und Chefärztin des Referenzzentrums für Endokrine Chirurgie am
Helios Universitätsklinikum Wuppertal. Facharztausbildung: Universität
Düsseldorf , einjähriger Forschungsaufenthalt am Institut für klinische Genetik
des Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm. 1997 Habilitation, 2002 APL Professor.
Medizinische Schwerpunkte: Chirurgie von Schilddrüsen- und
Nebenschilddrüsenerkrankungen. Frau Prof. Dotzenrath ist u.a.
stellvertretende Vorsitzende der CAEK (chirurgische Arbeitsgemeinschaft
Endokrinologie).
Prof. Dotzenrath is general and endocrine surgeon and chairman of the

Jeanette Erdmann
Peter Ekolind, CEO at Avidicare AB, is born in 1964 and has a background
from the pharmaceutical industry with 14 years experience from several
business areas and pharmaceutical companies in different positions. During
eight years he was working with antibiotics of different kind and combined
with the following infection control experience from Getinge and Avidicare
since 2001 he have a deep knowledge about infection control and surgical
site infections.
Dr. Erdmann ist W3-Professorin für kardiovaskuläre Genetik und Direktorin
des Instituts für Integrative und Experimentelle Genomik an der Universität zu
Lübeck. Nach dem Biologiestudium (1985-1991) an der Universität Köln
erfolgte 1996 die Promotion am Institut für Humangenetik in Bonn. Seit dieser
Zeit ist ihr Forschungsinteresse die Genetik komplexer Erkrankungen. In den
letzten 10 Jahren war sie maßgeblich an der Identifikation von Risikogenen
für die koronare Herzerkrankung und Herzinfarkt beteiligt. Sie ist Autorin /
Koautorin von mehr als 200 Originalarbeiten.
Dr. Erdmann is W3 professor of cardiovascular genetics and director of the
Institute for Integrative and Experimental Genomics at the University of
Lübeck. After studying biology (1985-1991) at the University of Cologne, she
defended her PhD in 1996 at the Institute of Human Genetics in Bonn. Since
that time, her research interest is the genetics of complex diseases. Over the
past 10 years, she was instrumental in the identification of risk genes for
coronary heart disease and myocardial infarction. She is the author / coauthor of more than 200 original papers.

Andreas Faltlhauser
Andreas Faltlhauser ist Facharzt für Anästhesie und Intensiv- und
Notfallmedizin. Nach dem Medizinstudium in Regensburg und München
absolvierte er als Sanitätsoffizier an den BwKs Ulm und Koblenz seine
Facharztausbildung und in diesem Rahmen auch einige Auslandseinsätze.
Anschließend leitete er in Australien für einige Jahre eine Interdisziplinäre
Intensivstation. Derzeit leitet er am Klinikum Weiden eine neu aufgebaute
interdisziplinäre Intensivstation. Sein klinisches Forschungsinteresse gilt der
Vermeidung von Delir bei Intensivpatienten sowie der Therapie schwerer
Inflammationsreaktionen.
After graduation from TU Munich Med School Andreas Faltlhauser did his
training as an Anesthesiologist Intensivist at German Military Hospitals Ulm
and Koblenz. As a military medical officer he was deployed on several
occasions, partially serving in leading positions. After his military service he
headed an Interdisciplinary ICU in Australia for several years. Currently he
heads a newly developed Interdisciplinary ICU at Weiden Hospital. His
clinical research interest is with prevention of delirium in ICU patients as well
as with research on therapy for severe inflammatory reactions.

Markus Fleisch
Prof. Dr. Fleisch ist Facharzt für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtsmedizin mit
den Schwerpunkten "Spezielle Geburtshilfe Perinatalmedizin" und
"Gynäkologische Onkologie" und Chefarzt der Landesfrauenklinik am
HELIOS Universitätsklinikum Wuppertal. Stationen seiner klinischen und
wissenschaftlichen Ausbildung waren neben der Universitätsfrauenklinik
Düsseldorf unter anderem die University of California in Berkeley und das
University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Er ist Mitglied zahlreicher
medizinisch-wissenschaftlicher Fachgesellschaften u.a. der
Organkommission Uterus der AGO.
Prof. Dr. Fleisch is a board-certified obstetrician and gynaecologist with
subspecialty training in gynecologic oncology. He is Department Head of the
Landesfrauenklinik at HELIOS University Medical Center Wuppertal. Stages
of his clinical and scientific training included Duesseldorf University Medical
Center, University of California in Berkeley and the University Medical Center
in Tucson, Arizona. He is member of numerous scientific societies including
the chapter uterus of the AGO.

Antje Fuß
Diplom-Biologin Antje Fuß ist im Forschungs- und Lehrbereich des Missionsärztlichen Instituts in Würzburg tätig. Nach dem Studium an der Universität
Würzburg erfolgten Zusatzausbildungen zur molekularbiologischen und
mikroskopischen Diagnostik von parasitären Infektionen. Zurzeit arbeitet sie
in einem Projekt zur Elimination der Schistosomiasis auf einer Insel im
Viktoriasee, Tansania und fertigt in diesem Gebiet ihre Dissertation an.
Diplom biologist Antje Fuß works in the area of research and teaching at the
Medical Mission Institute in Würzburg. After studying at the university of
Würzburg she performed additional studies on molecular and microscopic
diagnosis of parasitic infections. Currently she works in a project on
elimination of schistosomiasis on an island in Lake Victoria, Tanzania and
does research in this area on her doctoral dissertation.

PD Dr. Gille ist Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie und Oberarzt am

Martin Götz
Prof. Dr. Götz studierte Humanmedizin in Heidelberg und München. Nach
ärztlicher Tätigkeit am Klinikum Großhadern, München, und der
Universitätsmedizin Mainz folgte M. Götz 2012 einem Ruf ans
Universitätsklinikum Tübingen, wo er die Interdisziplinäre Endoskopie und
den Schwerpunkt Chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankungen in der Inneren
Medizin 1 leitet. M. Götz hat über 150 wissenschaftliche Beiträge zu
endoskopischen Verfahren publiziert, ist Mitglied in den Leitungsgremien der
Fachgesellschaften und mit nationalen und internationalen Preisen
ausgezeichnet.
Martin Goetz trained at Heidelberg and Munich University. After specialist
training at Gastroenterology Departments at the Kllinikum Großhadern,
München, and Universitätsmedizin Mainz, in 2012 he accepted an
appointment as full professor of Endoscopy at the Universitätsklinikum
Tübingen with a clinical position as Head of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy and
Head of Clinical Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). He has published > 150
original publications, reviews, guidelines and book chapters and has been the
recipient of a number of distinguished awards from national and international
societies.

Jens K. Habermann
Prof. Dr. Dr. Habermann leitet das Interdisziplinäre Center für BiobankingLübeck (ICB-L), Universität zu Lübeck und UKSH, Campus Lübeck. Er
forschte an den NIH, Bethesda, USA, und am Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, zur Rolle genomischer Instabilität bei Tumoren für Präzisionsmedizin.
Ärztlich in der Humangenetik tätig, integriert er Biobanking in die klinische
Routine zur Therapieoptimierung. Prof. Habermann ist Vorstandsmitglied der
Europäischen Biobankengesellschaft ESBB.
Professor Habermann, M.D., Ph.D., directs the Interdisciplinary Center for
Biobanking-Lübeck (ICB-L) at the University of Lübeck and UKSH, Campus
Lübeck. At the NIH, Bethesda, USA, and the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm,
he investigated the role of genomic instability for precision medicine of solid
tumors. Practicing in human genetics, he integrates biobanking into clinical

Prof. Dr. Hackländer ist Facharzt für Radiologie mit Zusatzbezeichnung
Medizinische Informatik und Leitender Oberarzt am HELIOS Universitätsklinikum in Wuppertal. Nach dem Studium der Physik und Medizin erfolgte
die Facharztausbildung an der Universitätsklinik in Düsseldorf. 1987
Promotion in der Nuklearmedizin und 2007 Ernennung zum außerplanmäßigen Professor für Radiologie an der Universität Düsseldorf. Prof
Hackländer ist Vorsitzender der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Informationstechnologie
der Deutschen Röntgengesellschaft und Mitglied des Normenausschuss
Radiologie im DIN.
Prof. Dr. Hackländer is specialist in Radiology and medical informatics and
senior physician at the HELIOS University Hospital Wuppertal, Germany.
After studying physics and medicine he has his specialist training at the
University Clinic in Dusseldorf. 1987 doctorate in nuclear medicine and 2007
appointment as Adjunct Professor of Radiology at the University of
Düsseldorf. Prof. Hackländer is Chairman of the working group 'information
technology' of the German Society of Radiology and a member of the
standards Committee radiology in DIN.

Dr. Haug ist Facharzt für Nuklearmedizin und seit 2013 stellvertretender
Leiter der Abteilung für Nuklearmedizin am AKH Wien der med. Universität
Wien. Nach dem Studium an der LMU München erfolgte die
Facharztausbildung an der Klinik für Nuklearmedizin der Universitätsklinik
München. Sein Spezialgebiet ist die Radionuklidtherapie, insbesondere von
neuroendokrinen Tumoren, Prostatakarzinomen und Lebertumoren. Weitere
Schwerpunkte sind die Diagnostik onkologischer Erkrankungen mittels
PET/CT und PET/MRT mit einem besonderen Fokus auf
Tumorcharakterisierung und neue Radiopharmaka.
Dr. Haug is a nuclear medicine specialist and deputy head of the division of
nuclear medicine at the AKH Vienna. After studying at the university of
Munich, he continued his medical studies at the university hospital Munich.
His focus is radionuclide therapy of neuroendocrine tumors, prostate cancer
and liver tumors. A second speciality is diagnosis of oncologic disease with
PET/CT and PET/MRI, especially regarding prognostic stratification and new
radiopharmaceuticals.

Darmerkrankungen.
Prof. Holtmeier is the chief of the Department of Gastroenterology,

Studium an der FU Berlin erfolgte die Facharztausbildung an der
Radiologischen Klinik der FU Berlin. Promotion 1987, Habilitation 1994. Er ist
Vorstandsvorsitzender des gemeinnützigen Vereins Telemedizin in der
Euroregion POMERANIA und engagiert sich seit 2002 in EU-geförderten
deutsch-polnischen Telemedizin-Projekten, die viele Krankenhäuser in
Vorpommern und Westpommern vernetzen.
Norbert Hosten, MD, is Professor of Radiology and Chairman of the
Department Radiology at the University of Greifswald. After finishing medical
school in Berlin he spezialized at the Radiological Clinic of the Freie
Universität Berlin. He engages since 2002 in a German-Polish telemedicine
Project which connects more than 20 hospitals in Vorpommern and the
Województwo zachodniopomorskie. The project receives funding of the
European Union.

Thomas Illig
Prof. Illig leitet seit Januar 2014 die zentrale Hannover Unified Biobank der
Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover (MHH) sowie die Forschungsgruppe
des Instituts für Humangenetik (MHH). Davor war er Abteilungsleiter für
Molekulare Epidemiologie im Helmholtz Zentrum München. Er verfügt über
eine langjährige Erfahrung in der Umwelt-, molekularen und genetischen
Epidemiologie als auch in der Humangenetik.
Since January 2014 Prof. Illig is leading the central Hannover Unified Biobank
of the Hannover Medical School (MHH), as well as the research unit of the
institute for human genetics (MHH). Previously, he was Head of Department
of Molecular Epidemiology at Helmholtz Centre in Munich. He has many
years of experience in environmental, molecular and genetic epidemiology,
as well as in human genetics.

Markus Juchems
Prof. Juchems ist Facharzt für Radiologie und leitet seit 2014 die Radiologie
am Klinikum Konstanz. Nach dem Medizinstudium in Budapest, Dresden und
Ulm erfolgte die Facharztausbildung an der Universitätsklinik Ulm. Dort
promovierte er in 2003, habilitierte 2010 und ist seit 2013 apl. Professor. Sein
klinischer Schwerpunkt ist die Diagnostische und Interventionelle Radiologie
des Abdomens mit Schwerpunkt Pankreas und Leber. Prof. Juchems ist
Vorstandsmitglied der AG GIT-/ Abdominaldiagnostik der DRG.
Prof. Juchems is a radiologist and chairman of the Department of Radiology
at Klinikum Konstanz. After studying medicine in Budapest, Dresden und Ulm
he started training to become a radiologist at University Hospitals Ulm. Prof.
Juchems is an expert in abdominal imaging and abdominal interventions. He
is a board member of AG gastrointestinal-/ abdominal imaging of the German

Klaus-Peter Jünemann
Prof. Dr. Jünemann ist seit 2001 Direktor der Klinik für Urologie und
Kinderurologie am Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel und
Experte u.a. für die Behandlung von Inkontinenz und für nervschonende
Prostatachirurgie. Sein Spezialgebiet sind die roboterassistierte
uroonkologische und plastisch-rekonstruktive Chirurgie sowie die
Metastasenchirurgie. Prof. Jünemann ist Sprecher des Kurt-Semm-Zentrums
für laparoskopische und roboterassistierte Chirurgie.
Since 2001, Prof. Dr. Jünemann is Head of the Dept. of Urology and Pediatric
Urology at University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel. His many
areas of scientific expertise range from incontinence treatment and nervesparing prostate surgery to robot-assisted urooncological and reconstructive
surgery and advanced disease surgery. Prof. Jünemann is Speaker of the
Kurt Semm Center for laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery.
Nico Karssemeijer
Nico Karssemeijer is professor of Computer-Aided Diagnosis. He studied
Physics at Delft University of Technology and graduated at the Radboud
University in Nijmegen. In 1989 he joined the Department of Radiology of the
Radboud University Medical Center, where he formed a research group in
computer aided detection (CAD). He is specialized in breast cancer imaging.
Nico Karssemeijer serves as member of editorial boards of scientific journals
and co-founded three companies.

Tobias Keck
Prof. Keck wurde in Nürnberg geboren. Nach dem Medizinstudium an der
Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen, mit Auslandsaufenthalten in
Stanford sowie an der UCSD, begann er die chirurgische Ausbildung an der
Universitätsklinik in Heidelberg. Nebenberuflich hat Prof. Keck einen
Abschluss zum Master of Business Administration in Hospital Management
(MBA) realisiert. Prof. Keck ist Leiter des Onkologischen Zentrums, Lübeck.
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich der minimalinvasiven
Chirurgie sowie in der Onkologie.
Prof. Keck, born in Nuremberg/ Germany, started his medical career at the
Department of Surgery at the University of Heidelberg. He was elected
Chairmen of the Department of Surgery at the University of Lübeck in 2012.
This department includes visceral surgery, general surgery, thoracic surgery
and vascular surgery as well as transplantation surgery. The main focus of
the clinical work of Professor Keck is minimal-invasive surgery and oncologic
surgery. The main focus of research of the Department lies within hepatopancreato-biliary oncology, oncologic research and minimal-invasive surgery.

Wolfgang Kleinekofort
Prof. Dr. Kleinekofort ist Dekan des Fachbereichs Ingenieurwissenschaften
der Hochschule RheinMain. Nach Physikstudium und Promotion 1996 an der
Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt war er von 1997 bis 2003
als Wissenschaftler in der Forschungsabteilung der Fresenius Medical Care
AG tätig. Seit 2003 ist Dr. Kleinekofort Professor für Medizintechnik und
wissenschaftlicher Berater im Gesundheitswesen. Sein Spezialgebiet sind
extrakorporale Organersatzverfahren und Systeme zur kontinuierlichen
Kaltperfusion von Organen.
Prof. Dr. Kleinekofort is dean of the Faculty of Engineering, RheinMain
University of Applied Sciences. After his PhD in 1996 at the Johann Wolfgang
Goethe-University in Frankfurt, he joined the R&D department of Fresenius
Medical Care AG from 1997-2003. Since 2003 Dr Kleinekofort works as
professor for medical technology and scientific consultant. His speciality is
extracorporeal organ replacement and perfusion technology.

Friedrich Köhler
Prof. Dr. Köhler ist Facharzt für Kardiologie und Oberarzt an der Med. Klinik
m.S. Kardiologie und Angiologie. Seit 2005 erforscht er Remote Patient
Management; zunächst 2005-2011 im FuE-Project "Partnership for the Heart"
(gefördert vom BMWi) und der klinischen Studie TIM-HF, seit 2009 im FuEProjekt "Gesundheitsregion der Zukunft Nordbrandenburg - Fontane"
(gefördert vom BMBF) und er ist Principal Investigator der TIM-HF II Studie
(NCT01878630). Seit 2011 ist er Professor für kardiovaskuläre Telemedizin
an der Charité und 2015 wurde er Fellow der European Society of
Cardiology.
Prof. Dr. Koehler is specialist for cardiology and senior physician at the
Medical Department-Division of Cardiology / Angiology. Since 2005 he is
researching in remote patient management; from 2005 to 2011 in the R&D
„Partnership for the Heart“ and since 2009 in the R&D Project "Health Region

Sebastian Koller
Sebastian Koller ist Wissenschaftlicher Leiter der Forschungsgruppe MITI
des Klinikums rechts der Isar, TU München. Auf das Studium des
Maschinenwesens an der TU München folgte die Anstellung als
Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der FG MITI und das Promotionsstudium
am Lehrstuhl für Medizintechnik der TU München. Sein Spezialgebiet
umfasst Mechatronische Supportsysteme in der Minimalinvasiven Chirurgie
und deren Integration in den klinischen Workflow. Herr Koller ist u.a. in der
Dt. Gesellschaft für Computer- und Roboterassistierte Chirurgie (CURAC)
und engagiert sich im Bereich Robotik.
Sebastian Koller is Scientific Head of the Research Group MITI of the
Klinikum rechts der Isar, TU Munich. The studies of mechanical engineering
(TU Munich) were followed by employment as research assistant at the
Research Group MITI and PhD studies at the Institute of Medical Engineering
at the TU Munich. His specialty includes mechatronic support systems in
minimally invasive surgery and their integration into the clinical workflow. Mr
Koller is also member of the German Society for Computer and Robotic
Assisted Surgery (CURAC) and is active in the field of robotics.

Dr. med. Kopf ist Facharzt für Orthopädie & Unfallchirurgie im Centrum für
Muskuloskeletale Chirurgie (CMSC) der Charité in Berlin. Nach dem Studium
der Humanmedizin an der Universität in Magdeburg absolvierte er 3 Jahre
seiner Facharztausbildung in der Orthopädische Universitätsklinik
Magdeburg. Danach ging er im Rahmen eines Forschungsstipendiums für 2
Jahre an das Department of Orthopaedic Surgery der University of
Pittsburgh, USA. Er setze seine Facharztausbildung dann im CMSC der
Charité fort. Sein klinischer und wissenschaftlicher Schwerpunkt ist die
Sporttraumatologie des Knies.
Sebastian Kopf, MD, works as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Center for
Musculoskeletal Surgery (CMSC) of the Charité in Berlin. He went to medical
school in Magdeburg, where he also performed the first 3 years of his
residency. Afterwards he received a research scholarship and did 2 years
research at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh,

versorgt. Ursprung ist eine 1945 durch den Großvater der Familie Kramer
gegründete Praxis. Herr Kramer erhielt 2014 eine Professur an der
Universität zu Lübeck und übernahm dort labormedizinische
Lehrschwerpunkte. Herr Kramer vertritt eine ärztliche Labormedizin: Wichtig
sind ihm die Qualität der Analytik und die kollegiale Beratung im Sinne der

Johannes Kresimon studierte an der Technischen Hochschule Aachen
Architektur und schloss 1998 das Studium mit dem Diplom ab. Seitdem hat er
sich in seiner Laufbahn als Architekt und Projektsteuerer auf den Bau von
Gebäuden im Gesundheitswesen spezialisiert. Bei HDR TMK ist er für das
operative Geschäft sowie die Unternehmensentwicklung verantwortlich und
seit März 2016 Geschäftsführer.
Johannes Kresimon studied architecture at the Technical University of
Aachen and graduated in 1998 with a diploma. Since then he has specialized
in his career as an architect and project manager on the construction of

Bernhard Kübler
Dr. Kübler ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter beim Deutschen Zentrum für
Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR). Nach Studium des Fachs Biomedical
Engineering (FH Furtwangen) und Maschinenwesen (Uni Stuttgart) ist er seit
2003 Mitarbeiter beim DLR, Institut für Robotik und Mechatronik. 2010
Promotion zum Dr.-Ing. an der Uni Stuttgart, Institut für Biomedizinische
Technik. Er beschäftigt sich vor allem mit robotergestützter, minimal invasiver
Chirurgie, speziell mit haptischer Rückkopplung.
Dr. Kuebler is a research associate at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).
He studied Biomedical Engineering (FH Furtwangen) and Mechanical
Engineering (University of Stuttgart). He has been working at the DLR,
Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics, since 2003 and received his doctorate
in 2010 at the University of Stuttgart, Institute of Biomedical Engineering. He

Dr. Laimer ist Facharzt für Endokrinologie und Diabetologie und leitender Arzt
im Unversitätsklinikum Bern (Inselspital). Nach dem Studium an der
Universität Innsbruck erfolgte die Facharztausbildung an der
Universitätsklinik für Innere Medizin in Innsbruck. Nach der Habilitation im
Jahr 2009 an der Medizinischen Universität in Innsbruck legte er den
Schwerpunkt seiner medizinischen Tätigkeit in den Bereich Diabetestherapie
und Diabetestechnologie. Seit Oktober 2014 ist Markus Laimer am Inselspital
in Bern tätig.
Dr. Laimer is a Diabetes specialist and senior physician at the University
Hospital Bern. After studying at the University of Innsbruck. In 2001 he
became a research fellow at the Department for General Internal Medicine at

Dr. Leber ist seit 2008 Leiter der Abteilung „Krankenhäuser“ beim GKVSpitzenverband in Berlin. Nach dem Studium der Volkswirtschaft arbeitete er

„Risikostrukturausgleich“. Im Zuge der deutschen Einigung folgten
Tätigkeiten im AOK-System. 1996/97 war er Projektleiter des AOKHausarztmodells (Frankfurt). 1998 – 2004 leitete er die Krankenhausabteilung im AOK-Bundesverband, 2004 – 2008 den Geschäftsbereich
„Gesundheit“.
Dr. Leber is Head of the hospital division at the National Association of
Statutory Health Insurance Funds (GKV-Spitzenverband) in Berlin since
2008. He studied economics and holds a PHD (“Risk structure
compensation”). Between 1987 and 1990 he worked for the national Council
of Experts for health care. In the course of the German reunification WulfDietrich Leber worked for the AOK. In 1996/97 he was responsible for

Dr. Lee-Barkey ist Fachärztin für Innere Medizin und Diabetologie
(Diabetologin DDG). Sie ist leitende Oberärztin des Diabeteszentrums und
verantwortlich für den Bereich Ernährungsmedizin im HDZ NRW (Herz- und
Diabeteszentrum NRW), UK RUB (Universitätsklinik der Ruhr-Universität

Prof. Dr. Löser is a specialist in internal medicine, gastroenterology, sports
medicine, palliative medicine and nutritional medicine. He is head of the

Dr. med. Christian Löser is active editor/member of 14 medical societies,
author of more than 180 international scientific publications, author of 34

Kai Lopau
Dr. Lopau ist Internist - Nephrologe an der Medizinischen Universitätsklinik I
in Würzburg. Nach Studium und Facharztausbildung dort erfolgte 2002 die
Anerkennung zum Internisten, 2003 die Anerkennung für das Teilgebiet
Nephrologie. Seit 2003 ist er Oberarzt und leitet das
Nierentransplantationsprogramm in Würzburg. Weitere klinische
Schwerpunkte neben der Transplantation sind die Hypertensiologie und das
kardio-renale Syndrom. 2012 erfolgte die Habilitation über ein
transplantationsmedizinisches Thema.
Kai Lopau, MD, is consultant of Nephrology at the University of Wuerzburg,
Department of Internal Medicine I. After receiving his medical education in
Wuerzburg he qualified in Internal Medicine in 2002, in Nephrology in 2003.
Since 2003 he works as clinical nephrologist and directs the kidney transplant
program. Further areas of interest are hypertension and the cardio-renal
syndrome. In 2012 he habilitated on a kidney transplantation topic.

Dr. Lorentzen (born 1959), MD, PhD, radiologist
Herlev Hospital, Denmark.
Since 1990, he has been actively involved in various aspects of ultrasound,
mainly Doppler imaging and Interventional Ultrasound. His PhD thesis from
1997 is about Ultrasound guided RF ablation.
He is the President of the Danish Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DSDU).

Markus Luster
Prof. Dr. Luster ist Direktor der Klinik für Nuklearmedizin an der Universität
Marburg. Nach dem Studium an der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität
Essen war ML an der Universität von Madison, Wisconsin, USA im Bereich
pädiatrische Hämatologie / Onkologie tätig. 1993 zurück in Deutschland
wurde die medizinische Weiterbildung in Essen und Würzburg fortgesetzt,
seit dem Jahr 2000 als Oberarzt. 2008 erfolgte die Berufung zum Professor
an die Universität Ulm.
Prof. Dr. Luster is chairman of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the
University of Marburg. After qualifying from medical school at the University
of Essen, ML undertook training in paediatric haematology / oncology at the
University of Madison, Wisconsin, USA. In 1993 he returned to Germany at
the Department of Nuclear Medicine, University of Essen and Würzburg,
since 2000 as consultant. In 2008 ML moved to the University of Ulm to
become professor of nuclear medicine.

Seit 2010 ist er Vorstand der LifeCodexx AG. Seit 2005 baute er 6
internationale Biotech-Firmen erfolgreich auf und ist u.a. auch als Senior
Advisor bei weiteren Biotech-Unternehmen, wie z.B. Cytena in Freiburg,
aktiv. Davor war Michael Lutz viele Jahre bei Novartis Pharma und Evotec in
diversen Führungspositionen tätig. Er studierte Chemie und Biochemie an
den Universitäten Konstanz und Grenoble und promovierte in Bioorganischer Chemie an der ETH Zürich.
Dr. Lutz has many years of experience in establishing and leading innovative
biotechnology companies. He has been CEO of LifeCodexx AG since 2010.
Since 2005, he has successfully established six international biotech
companies and remains active as a senior advisor for other biotech
companies, such as Cytena in Freiburg, among others. Before that, Dr. Lutz
spent many years at Novartis Pharma and Evotec in various management
positions. He studied chemistry and biochemistry at the Universities of
Konstanz and Grenoble and received his doctorate in bioorganic chemistry
from the ETH Zurich.

Julia Mader
Julia Mader promovierte 2007 an der Medizinischen Universität Graz, wo sie
in weiterer Folge auch ihre Ausbildung in Innerer Medizin absolvierte. Derzeit
ist sie als Fachärztin in der Diabetesversorgung an der Abteilung für
Endokrinologie und Diabetologie in Graz tätig. Seit 2015 ist sie Assistenzprofessorin für Innere Medizin an der Medizinischen Universität Graz.
Ihr Forschungsgebiet umfasst die experimentelle und klinische Diabetologie
mit Fokus auf Diabetestechnologie.
Julia Mader received her MD at Medical University of Graz, Austria in 2007
where she subsequently did her training in Internal Medicine. She currently
works as consultant in diabetes care of the Division of Endocrinology and
Diabetology in Graz. Since 2015 she holds an Assistant Professor position at
Medical University of Graz. She has research experience in both
experimental and clinical diabetes. Her interests include insulin physiology,
diabetes technology and insulin use in the hospital.

Dr. Mahfoud studied medicine at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University,
Frankfurt, Germany. He completed his residency at the Department of
Internal Medicine and Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine,
Saarland University Hospital, Homburg, Germany. He is associate professor
and senior physician of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Saarland
University Hospital and Affiliate / Visiting Professor of the Harvard-MIT,
Biomedical Engineering, Boston, MA.
Dr. Mahfoud is a recipient of multiple national and international awards. His
special scientific interest includes pathophysiology, conservative and novel
interventional therapies of heart failure and hypertension. He is member of
several editorial boards and serves as board member of the European
Society of Cardiology Council on Hypertension‚ Working Group Interventional
Hypertension Treatment of the European Society of Hypertension, EuroPCR
Board of Directors, Co-Chairmen of the Resistant Hypertension Course

Dr.
Michael Markl
Dr. Markl is the Lester B. and Frances T. Knight Professor of Cardiac Imaging
in the Departments of Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern
University. Dr. Markl received his PhD in Physics from the University of
Freiburg, Germany (2000), and also served as a postdoctoral fellow at the
Lucas MRI/S Center at Stanford University, Radiology (2001‐2004). In 2004,
he returned to the University Hospital in Freiburg, Germany as the Director of
Cardiovascular MRI. Dr. Markl was recruited to Northwestern in 2011, and is
now the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging Research in the Department of
Radiology and directs Cardiovascular MR research in the Center for
Translational Imaging, a Northwestern University core facility housed in
Radiology.
A central objective of Dr. Markl's research program is to develop multi‐
parametric imaging techniques than can afford a better understanding of the
underlying mechanisms of cardiovascular disease development and the
impact of therapy. The work of his research group has been instrumental in
establishing '4D Flow MRI' for the comprehensive assessment of
cardiovascular hemodynamics in heart disease and stroke.
Further accomplishments include the development, validation, and
application of novel imaging tools for the evaluation of structure and function
of the heart. Clinical applications have provided new insights into the specific
links between pathology, therapy, intervention and functional changes within
the heart and cardiovascular system. To date, his accomplishments include a
total of >250 peer‐reviewed publications, 500+ conference abstracts, 7 book
chapters, 8 patents, and >100 invited presentations.
Dr. Markl is a recipient of the RSNA Research Trainee Prize, the I.I. Rabi
Award Young Investigator Award of the ISMRM, and the Distinguished
Investigator Award of the Academy of Radiology Research. He also is an
Honorary Fellow at the Dept. of Medical Physics at the University of
Wisconsin Madison, a Member of the Editorial Board of the ‘European Heart
Journal ‐ Cardiovascular Imaging’, and a Fellow of the ISMRM.

Bruno Michel
Dr. Michel hält einen Doktortitel in Biochemie und Computer Ingenieurwesen
von der Universität Zürich und arbeitete am IBM Forschungslabor in
Rüschlikon auf Rastertunnel-Mikroskopie, Soft-Lithographie und thermischelektrischer Integrationstechnologie mit derzeitigem Fokus auf
Mikrotechnologie / Fluidik und 3D Packaging. Im Rahmen der Smart System
Integrations-Initiative entwickelt er zukünftige daten-getriebene medizinische
Technologien basierend auf effizienten kognitiven Wearables.
Dr. Michel completed a PhD in biochemistry and computer engineering at the
University of Zurich joined IBM Research to work on scanning probe
microscopy, large-area soft lithography, and thermal and electrical packaging.
Main current research topics are micro-technology / fluidics, and 3D
electronic packaging. He started the smart system integration initiative at IBM
to develop next generation data driven medical technologies based on ultrasmall and efficient cognitive wearables.

Prof. Middeke ist Facharzt für Innere Medizin und Leiter des Hypertoniezentrum München, ein Excellence Centre der European Society of
Hypertension (ESH). Hach dem Studium der Humanmedizin an der LudwigMaximlians Universität (LMU) München erfolgte die Weiterbildung und
Habilitation (1987) an der Poliklinik der LMU. Sein Spezielgebiet ist die
Hypertensiologie. Die Schwerpunkte der Forschung umfassen die
Blutdruckregulation, Chronopathologie und Chronotherapie der Hypertonie
und die Telemedizin bei Herz- Kreislauferkrankungen. Prof. Middeke ist seit
1998 Schriftleiter der DMW.
Prof. Middeke is a specialist in internal medicine and head of the
Hypertension Centre Munich, an excellence centre of the European Society
of Hypertension (ESH). After studying medicine at the Lugwig-Maximilians
University (LMU) in Munich, he continued his medical education at the

Prof. Dr. Möslein ist Fachärztin für spezielle Viszeralchirurgie und Direktorin
des Zentrums für Hereditäre Tumorerkrankungen am Chirurgischen Zentrum
des HELIOS Universitätsklinikums in Wuppertal. Ihr frühes Interesse an den
klinischen, chirurgischen und wissenschaftlichen Aspekten der erblichen
Krebserkrankungen führte sie nach Japan, Heidelberg (Pouch-Operationen)
und später an die Mayo Klinik in Rochester (Mol-Genetik). Sie ist national und
international in den entsprechenden klinischen und wissenschaftlichen
Organisationen vertreten und gilt als ausgewiesene spezialisierte Expertin.
Prof. Dr. Moeslein is a certified surgeon for specialized visceral surgery and
is director of the Center for Hereditary Tumors associated with the Dept. of
Visceral Surgery at the HELIOS University Hospital in Wuppertal. Her early
interest in the clinical, surgical and scientific aspects of hereditary tumor
disease led her to Japan and Heidelberg (pouch surgery) and later to the

Zusatzbezeichnungen Sportmedizin, Spezielle Unfallchirurgie und Osteologie

Dr. Oheim is an Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon. He works as a consultant
at the University Hospital of Lübeck and Hamburg. Whereas his conservative
specialties are bone metabolism and disorders, his surgical specialties are
trauma and arthroscopic (shoulder) surgery.

Martin Ostermeier
Dr. Ostermeier ist Teamleiter in der Innovationsabteilung für
Angiographiesysteme und C-Bögen bei Siemens Healthcare. Im Anschluss
an das Studium der Elektrotechnik an der FAU Erlangen schloss sich eine
Promotion an der Medizinischen Fakultät der FAU im Bereich der
Schmerzforschung an. Sein beruflicher Werdegang startete auf dem Gebiet
implantierbarer Herzschrittmacher, gefolgt von fast 15 Jahren Erfahrung auf
dem Gebiet Angiographiesysteme für Katheterlabore und Hybrid-OPs.
Zunehmend wichtig wird hier die Integration verschiedener Bildmodalitäten
sowie die medizinische Robotik.
Dr. Ostermeier has a team lead position in the Innovation department for
Angiography systems and C-arms at Siemens Healthcare. After studying
Electrical Engineering at the university (FAU Erlangen), he did his PhD at the
Faculty of Medicine at the FAU on pain research. He started his professional
career with implantable pacemakers, followed by nearly 15 years of
experience with Angiography systems for Cath Labs and Hybrid-ORs. In this
area, the integration of various imaging modalities becomes increasingly
important, as well as medical robotics.

Sirak Petros
Prof. Dr. Petros ist Leiter der Interdisziplinären Internistischen
Intensivmedizin und des Zentrums für Hämostaseologie am
Universitätsklinikum Leipzig. Nach dem Studium an der Addis Abeba
Universität, Äthiopien, erfolgte die Facharztausbildung für Innere Medizin am
Universitätsklinikum Leipzig. Dann erfolgte die Weiterbildung in der
Intensivmedizin und in der Hämostaseologie. Seine Spezialgebiete sind
Homöostase beim kritisch Kranken und erworbene Koagulopathien. Prof. Dr.
Petros ist Mitglied in zahlreichen Fachgesellschaften und engagiert sich in
der Intensivmedizin- und Hämostaseforschung.

Habilitation im Fach Radiologie, 2008 Ernennung zum "Außerplanmäßigen
Professor" der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Seine Schwerpunkte
gruppieren sich um die Diagnostik und minimal-invasive Therapie von
malignen Tumoren.
Prof. Dr. Schäfer is Professor of Radiology and Head of the Department of
Radiology at St. Georg Hospital in Leipzig. After studying at the University of
Frankfurt/Main, he continued his medical studies at the University Hospital of
Freiburg. His specialty is among others oncologic imaging and minimallyinvasive therapies. One major focus represents abdominal and pelvic MRI.
He is active in research on rectal cancer imaging and member of numerous

Dr. Schenk ist Leiter des Instituts für Experimentelle Chirurgie. Nach dem
Biochemie-Studium an der Universität Tübingen erfolgte die Promotion zum
Dr. rer. nat. an der Universität Hohenheim. Die Habilitation und die
Verleihung der Lehrbefugnis für das Fach Experimentelle Chirurgie erfolgte
durch die Universität Tübingen. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte von Dr.
Schenk liegen in der Experimentellen Intensivtherapie, der MedizintechnikEntwicklung sowie im Tissue-Engineering der Leber.

Dr. Schirbel ist Radiochemiker / Radiopharmazeut an der Klinik für

Jülich. Am Universitätsklinikum Würzburg ist er für die Versorgung der Klinik
mit radioaktiven Medikamenten zuständig und entwickelt seit vielen Jahren
gemeinsam mit dem Schwerpunkt Endokrinologie Radiopharmaka für die
Diagnostik und Therapie von Nebennierentumoren.

Hartmut Schlüter
Prof. Dr. Schlüter is heading the Mass Spectrometric Proteomics group in the
Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine at the University
Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf since 2008. After he had finished
studying chemistry at the University in Münster he received his PhD in
biochemistry 1991. In 1996 he got his habilitation in pathobiochemistry in the
faculty of Medicine at the University in Münster. From 1996 to 2000 he was
heading a research group at the Ruhr University in Bochum and from 2000 to
2008 at the Charité in Berlin.

Michael R. Schön
Prof. Dr. Schön ist Direktor der Klinik für Allgemein- und Visceralchirurgie am
Städtischen Klinikum Karlsruhe. Nach dem Studium an der Heinrich Heine
Universität Düsseldorf, erfolgte die Facharztausbildung an den
Universitätsklinik Heidelberg und der Charité in Berlin. Sein medizinischer
Schwerpunkt ist die onkologische Chirurgie mit dem Spezialgebiet der
minimalinvasiven Leberchirurgie.
Prof. Dr. Schön is Chairman of the Department of General Surgery at the
Städtischen Klinikum Karlsruhe. After studying at the Heinrich Heine
Universität Düsseldorf, he continued his education at the Universitätsklinik
Heidelberg and graduated from the Charité in Berlin. His surgical focus is on
oncological surgery with a special interest in minimal invasive liver surgery.

Roland SchulzeRöbbecke
PD Dr. Schulze-Röbbecke wurde 1954 in Remscheid geboren. Er studierte
Agrarwissenschaften und Medizin an den Universitäten Bonn, Freiburg und
Toulouse. Seine Laufbahn führte ihn vom Hygiene-Institut der Universität
Bonn über das Institut für Hygiene und Umweltmedizin der RWTH Aachen,
den Service dʼÉtudes et de Recherche en Environnement et Santé der
Universität Nancy zum Institut für Hygiene bzw. (ab 2005) Institut für
Medizinische Mikrobiologie und Krankenhaushygiene des
Universitätsklinikums Düsseldorf. Er ist der Krankenhaushygieniker des
Universitätsklinikums Düsseldorf.
Dr. Schulze-Röbbecke, born in 1954, studied in Bonn, Freiburg (both
Germany) and Toulouse (France) and graduated in agricultural sciences and
medicine. As a specialist in infection control and environmental medicine he
worked as a scientist in the university hospitals of Bonn (Germany), Nancy
(France) and Düsseldorf (Germany). Presently, he is head of the department
of infection control of the University Hospital Düsseldorf.

Rüdiger SchulzWendtland
Prof. Schulz-Wendtland is Head of the Department of Gynaecological
Radiology of the Institute of Radiology at the University of ErlangenNürnberg. He is a specialist in diagnostic radiology and gynaecological
radiotherapy with a strong interest in all methods in breast diagnosis and
therapy and of course mammography screening. He is active in German and
international teaching programs and President of the German Society of
Senology (DGS) since 2012.

Markus J. Schwarz
Prof. Dr. Schwarz leitet die AG Neurobiochemie und Psychopharmakologie
am Institut für Laboratoriumsmedizin des Klinikums der Universität München
(LMU). Zuvor leitete er die Laborsektion PsychoNeuroImmunologie und
Therapeutisches DrugMonitoring an der Psychiatrischen Klinik der Uni
München (LMU). Er habilitierte in experimenteller Psychiatrie und beschäftigt
sich seit mehr als 15 Jahren mit TDM von Psychopharmaka. Er ist Mitglied
der AG TDM der AGNP, die derzeit an einer aktualisierten Fassung der
Konsensusleitlinien für TDM von Psychopharmaka arbeitet.
Prof. Dr. Schwarz is head of the working group 'Neurobiochemistry and
Psychopharmacology' at the Institute of Laboratory Medicine, University
Hospital Munich (LMU). Before joining this institute, he was head of the lab
section on PNI and TDM at the psychiatric Hospital of Munich University
(LMU). He did his habilitation in experimental Psychiatry and is involved in
TDM of psychotropic drugs since more than 15 years. He is member of the
working group TDM of the German speaking AGNP, which is currently
working on an updated version of the consensus guidelines for TDM in
psychopharmacology.

Albert Sickmann
Prof. Dr. Sickmann studierte Biochemie in Bochum und promovierte zum
Thema „Proteomanalyse des humanen Liquor Cerebrospinalis“. Nach einer
Juniorprofessur in Bochum und einer Professur am Rudolf-Virchow-Zentrum
in Würzburg kam er 2008 ans Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften
(ISAS). Heute ist er wissenschaftlicher Direktor der Abteilung Bioanalytik und
Vorstandsvorsitzender des Instituts. Prof. Sickmann arbeitet daran, Analyseverfahren und -methoden im Bereich der Proteomik und Systembiologie zu
verbessern. Sein besonderes Interesse gilt dabei der Massenspektrometrie.
Albert Sickmann studied biochemistry in Bochum and did his PhD thesis on
"Proteome analysis of human liquor cerebrospinalis". He became a junior
professor in Bochum and later a professor at the Rudolf Virchow center in
Würzburg. In 2008 he joined ISAS (Leibniz-Institut für Analytische
Wissenschaften) and today is scientific director for Bioanalytics and chairman
of the institute's Executive Board. Prof. Sickmann works on improving
analytical methods in proteomics and systems biology, with a special focus
on mass spectrometry.

Petros Sirak
Prof. Sirak ist Leiter der Interdisziplinären Internistischen Intensivmedizin und
des Zentrums für Hämostaseologie am Universitätsklinikum Leipzig. Nach
dem Studium an der Addis Abeba Universität, Äthiopien, erfolgte die
Facharztausbildung für Innere Medizin am Universitätsklinikum Leipzig. Dann
erfolgte die Weiterbildung in der Intensivmedizin und in der Hämostaseologie.
Seine Spezialgebiete sind Homöostase beim kritisch Kranken und erworbene
Koagulopathien. Prof. Sirak ist Mitglied in zahlreichen Fachgesellschaften
und engagiert sich in der Intensivmedizin- und Hämostaseforschung.
Prof. Sirak is director of the Medical ICU and the Center of Hemostaseology
at the University Hospital Leipzig, Germany. Following his undergraduate
studies at the Addis Abeba University, Ethiopia, he continued his residency in
internal medicine at the University Hospital Leipzig. Following that, he
completed his fellowship programs in intensive care medicine and
hemostaseology. His specialties are homeostasis of the critically ill and
acquired coagulopathies. Prof. Sirak is member of various scientific societies
and is active in the field of intensive care and hemostasis research.

Hendrik Treede
Prof. Dr. Treede ist Facharzt für Herzchirurgie und Direktor der Klinik und
Poliklinik für Herzchirurgie am Mitteldeutschen Herzzentrum am
Universitätsklinikum Halle (Saale). Nach dem Studium an der Universität
Hamburg erfolgte die Facharztausbildung an der Herzchirurgischen Klinik am
Universitätsklinikum Großhadern in München und an der Herzchirurgischen
Klinik am Universitären Herzzentrum in Hamburg. Prof. Treede ist Mitglied
zahlreicher Fachgesellschaften und engagiert sich in der klinischen und
experimentellen Forschung zur Therapie struktureller Herzerkrankungen.
Prof. Dr. Treede is a board certified cardiac surgeon and Director of the
Cardiac Surgery Department at the Mid-German Heart Center at the
University Hospital Halle (Saale). After finishing his medical studies at
Hamburg University he underwent residency and attending positions at
University Hospital Munich Großhadern and University Heart Center
Hamburg. Prof. Treede is member of numerous scientific societies and an
active clinical and experimental researcher in structural heart disease.

Andreas Unger
Dr. Unger ist Facharzt für Chirurgie, Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie mit der
Schwerpunktbezeichnung Spezielle Unfallchirurgie. Seit 2009 ist er als
Oberarzt in der Klinik für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie am UKSH Campus
Lübeck tätig. Neben der traumatologischen Versorgung der Patienten ist der
operative Schwerpunkt von Herrn Dr. Unger die degenerative und
traumatische Wirbelsäulenchirurgie sowie die orthopädische Tumorchirurgie.
Dr. Unger beschäftigt sich wissenschaftlich mit der Entstehung von
Pseudarthrosen im Rahmen von nationalen und internationalen Studien.
Dr. Unger is a general surgeon and orthopedic surgeon. Since 2009 he is
working as a senior physician in the Department of Orthopedics and
Traumatology at UKSH Campus Lübeck. In addition to trauma care the
operative focus of Dr. Unger is the degenerative and traumatic spinal surgery
and orthopedic tumor surgery. Dr. Unger is an active researcher in the field of
origin of non-unions during fracture healing in the context of national and
international studies.
Waltraud Wernhart
Waltraud Wernhart ist Laborreferentin am Missionsärztlichen Institut
Würzburg. Nach der Ausbildung zur Biomedizinischen Analytikerin war sie in
der Pharmazeutischen Industrie im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung tätig,
bevor sie einige Auslandseinsätze mit Ärzte ohne Grenzen als MTA und
Projektkoordinatorin machte. Am Missionsärztlichen Institut arbeitet sie mit
dem Schwerpunkt Tuberkulose in Gesundheitsprojekten in der Einen Welt
und gibt ihre Erfahrung an medizinisches und Laborpersonal in ParasitologieKursen und Vorträgen über Labor weiter.
Waltraud Wernhart is laboratory consultant at the Medical Mission Institute.
After finalizing the collage for laboratory technologist she worked in research
and development in a pharmaceutical company. Thereafter she did several
missions with doctors without borders as laboratory advisor and project
coordinator. At the Medical Mission Institute she works in health projects in
the One World with a focus on tuberculosis and gives training courses and
lectures in parasitology and medical laboratory.

Dr.
Wim van Zwam
Dr. van Zwam is a neuro-interventional radiologist in the Maastricht University
Medical Center in the Netherlands. After studying medicine in Amsterdam his
first career was in tropical medicine working for Doctors Without Borders in
Somalia, Laos and Sri Lanka. In 2003 he finished Radiology specialization in
Maastricht and subspecialized in neuro-interventions (MSc in neurointerventional surgery in Paris). Since 2009 he is co-PI of the MRCLEAN
study on endovascular treatment in acute stroke.
