Both instruments are completely new designed and benefit strongly from our almost 25 year long experience. Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten fanden sich bis ins kleinste Detail: Diverse Pickups wurden gewickelt, um den ultimativen Sound zu erzielen, unterschiedliche Schaltungen für die Klangregelung entwickelt, etliche Halsprofile ausprobiert, Experimente mit der Griffbrettwölbung gemacht und das Korpusshaping bis zum Exzess modifiziert – so dass zu guter Letzt ein wahres Meisterwerk am abgewetzten Gurt baumelte: Die California ST ist unser Tribut an eine Legende. 18 Even if the legendary archetype had almost 60 years to grow – no reason to stop us from improving it a bit every here and there so we now can call it our »dream guitar«. Korpus und Hals weisen die Patina der letzten 30 Jahre auf, die Pickup-Abdeckungen tragen deutliche Spuren der Saitenschläge. Am Hals ist die Rückseite bis aufs Holz abgegriffen. Auf dem Griffbrett sind unübersehbare Einbuchtungen und Abschürfungen zwischen den Saiten zu sehen. Der Korpus sieht aus, als hätte der Bass einen Großteil seines Lebens mit Stage-Diving verbracht. Die Masterpiece-Instrumente haben ihren eigenen, verruchten Charme – die Arbeit an Ihnen findet mit voller Hingabe und Liebe bis zum kleinsten Kratzer statt, so dass der Bass bei Auslieferung tatsächlich eine eigene Geschichte im Herzen trägt – was ihn zum Unikat macht. Alle Masterpiece-Instrumente werden zusätzlich über einen langen Zeitraum eingeschwungen, was einen deutlichen Klanggewinn mit sich bringt.
