The new year is here and with it comes a whole new year of projects
and activities for the TESLA FORUM.
1. The first Tesla Medal for 2007 will be presented at the award
ceremony at Curtin University on Friday March 28th 2008.
Again we would like to thank Danica Graphics and Design
Studio for their ongoing generous support of this award.
Thanks also to Jovan Radanovic who has struck another batch
of Tesla Medals. These are admired and treasured by all
winners.
2. We are hoping to be able to present Curtin University with a
Tesla Bust this year and will keep you posted of our progress
with fund raising to enable this. Look out too for details of the
unveiling ceremony which hopefully will be around the 10th of
July 2008. In a separate message you will find our invitation
form for sponsors; you may want to make a donation or
forward the form to other potential sponsors (each
contribution will be much appreciated, whatever the amount
is!....and it is tax deductible!).
3. We are working in conjunction with the Science Teachers’
Association of WA to run a Tesla Quiz this year. This will be an
online quiz for Year 9 and Year 10 students related to Tesla
and physics. It will be run in August and will give you more
details later. Thanks to ABB for their generous
support of the prize money for this quiz.
4. Finally we would also like to give advanced notice of the
ANNUAL TESLA DAY DINNER 2008 that will be held at Hilton
Hotel in Perth on Saturday 12th July. Please make sure you
get your table numbers together early and we will let you
know very soon about ticket sale details. This year we will be
having a cut off date for sales. Tickets sell out fast and you
won’t want to miss out.
