Hospital Management ... for the people! Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien Specialist Departments The Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien is a non-profit limited company and a hospital of care level one. In addition to the surgical and internistic medical treatment offered by a hospital of this level, maximum orthopaedic and urological care (University) as well as specialized cardiological and gastroenterological care is also provided. With nine main specialist departments and two external physician departments for intensive care, as well as a geriatric clinic and a geriatric rehabilitation centre, the Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien treats around 13,000 in-patients and 18,000 out-patients every year. Our central emergency department, which is staffed around the clock, is the contact point for all emergency patients. The outpatient surgery centre (AOZ) at the Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien performs outpatient operations of the highest standards. In our day clinic B1, the non-surgical patients following outpatient treatments also receive the same excellent care. The close cooperation with resident physicians, healthcare providers and specialized practices from Erlangen and the surrounding areas ensures that our patients receive the very best treatment available. In addition, the Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien’s care facilities– the “Pflegezentrum St. Elisabeth” (St. Elisabeth Care Center) located inside the hospital and the “Marienhospital Seniorenpflegezentrum GmbH” (Marienhospital Senior Citizens’ Care Center Ltd.) at 32 Spardorfer Street – provide the highest level of care for up to 133 people.
