Die offizielle Wiederveröffentlichung des Dub-Klassikers "Big Showdown" ist als 2CD-Edition mit 14
zusätzlichen Tracks im 6-Panel Digipak und ausführlichen Liner Notes erhältlich! Die Aufnahmen des
Originalalbums ("Scientist Vs. Prince Jammy - Big Showdown") von 1980 finden sich auf der ersten Disc, sie
wurden mit den Musikern der Roots Radics in Bestbesetzung im Channel One Studio eingespielt und im
King Tubby Studio abgemischt. Für jeweils fünf Dub-Mixe saßen Hopeton Overton Brown, besser bekannt
als Scientist (Tracks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9), und Lloyd James aka Prince Jammy (Tracks 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) an den Reglern. Für
die Produktion zeichnete Henry 'Junjo' Lawes verantwortlich, der auch die Idee hatte den musikalischen
Wettkampf von Jah Thomas als MC moderieren zu lassen. Auf der zweiten CD finden sich die
dazugehörigen Versionen der Sänger, vertreten durch Barrington Levy und den Deejays Clint Eastwood, Jah
Thomas und General Echo. Für dieses herausragende Re-Issue Projekt wurde die Top-Adresse, was AudioMastering in Europa angeht, die Firma Soundmasters in London, engagiert. Das dazugehörige Artwork von
Tony McDermott hat bis heute nichts an seiner Faszination verloren. Doppel-CD zum Preis von einer CD!

has been state-of-the-art remastered and is twinned with a second disc of the original vocal versions and a
selection of DeeJay cuts, including tracks making their CD debut. All music recorded at Channel One with
the Roots Radics and mixed by Scientist and Prince Jammy at King Tubby’s studio with producer Henry
