aims to create a broad platform for the dissemination of the results of science-based archaeological research covering prehistoric and early historic societies from
the Middle East to Europe. By bringing together a wide array of authors this internationally peer-reviewed series promotes interdisciplinary scientific debate on a
large geographic and thematic scale. The newly founded Institute for Oriental and
European Archaeology (OREA) will provide the means for publication, open to
archaeologists specialized in Europe, the Aegean, Anatolia and the Middle East.

Archaeologia Austriaca is a peer reviewed, print and electronic open access journal that is published
on an annual basis. The journal includes articles, reports, special sections and reviews predominantly in
German and English. Archaeologia Austriaca covers all periods from the Palaeolithic to modern times,
which are subject to archaeological, anthropological and interdisciplinary investigations, including natural sciences application. Publication languages are mainly German and English. The journal is edited
by a scientific board consisting of leading staff of the Institute for Oriental and European Archaeology
of the Austrian Academy of Sciences OREA and the Institute of Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology
of the University of Vienna. It is published by the Austrian Academy of Sciences Press.
