Unterkunftskosten!
Zur Auswahl stehen zwei vierwöchige Kurse im Juli und August 2012. Optional besteht auch
die Möglichkeit, beim ersten Kurstermin parallel einen Kurs in Chinese Herbal Medicine zu
besuchen.

Our partner university covers course and accommodation costs for 4 JKU students.
2 four weeks sessions are offered in July and August 2012. Students who join the Chinese
Language course in Session 1 (July) are very much welcomed to join the the parallel course
Introduction to Chinese Herbal Medicine.

2012 Summer Program at National Cheng Kung University NCKU National Cheng Kung University National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) NCKU is located in Tainan City, the historical and ancient capital of Taiwan. Tainan was the capital of Taiwan in 1661 until 1887 during the Qing Dynasty. Even, till today, Tainan is still the city retaining most of the nation’s cultural heritage. Since NCKU’s establishment in 1931, she has developed into a comprehensive and research intensive university with integrated academic fields in 9 colleges consisting of more than 90 departments and institutes enrolling approximately 11,000 undergraduate and 10,000 graduate students. Our graduates have been voted as the “Industry’s Favorite” every year since 1993. Currently, NCKU has around 550 international degree students from 68 countries worldwide. 2012 Summer Program 2012 summer program consists of a 2‐credit “Beginner’s Chinese” course with tuition waiver and free on‐campus housing during class period (only for Students from institutions that have concluded a mutual tuition waiver contract with NCKU). Students can choose either Session 1 or Session 2 depending on their schedule. A transcript in both English and Chinese will be issued to students by NKCU upon completion of this program. In addition to language and learning, opportunities exist to make friends and expand one’s international outlook. Eligibility Students form NCKU partner universities, who have learned Chinese for 6~12 months Duration Session 1 : July 2 ~ July 27,2012 Session 2 : August 6 ~ August 31, 2012 Tuition Fee and other fee Tuition fee: NT$15,700 Enrollment fee: NT$500 Placement fee: NT$350 4‐Week on‐campus housing: NT$5,000 ( tentative) a) Students from institutions that have concluded a mutual tuition waiver contract with NCKU will not be required to pay the tuition fee, enrollment fee, placement fee, and 4‐week accommodation which is also provided by NCKU. b) Others should pay all the related fees mentioned above. 2012 Summer Program at National Cheng Kung University Course Information: Chinese Language Course Summer Session 1 Summer Session 2 Course Date Jul.2 – Jul.27, 2012 Aug.6 – Aug.31, 2012 Weeks 4 weeks 4 weeks Total Hours 20 hrs/week 20 hrs/week Application Deadline April. 30, 2012 April. 30, 2012 Class Type Courses will be taught in small group (6‐15 people). Class Time 4‐week intensive courses are 4 hours per day. For a total of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Classes time schedule is as below: * 08:10‐10:00 * 10:10‐12:00 * 13:10‐15:00 * 15:10‐17:00 Optional Courses We also offer the following optional classes: (1) Culture Classes : Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, Taichi, Chinese Opera, Chinese Movie Appreciation, Cuisine and Culture etc.; (2) Language Courses: Chinese Conversation, Taiwanese Language, Simplified Character Workshop, Composition and Reading, Chinese Novel Selection, Writing Class, Pronunciation Class etc..
