NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)
of section 21 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940,
the L i e u t e n a n t -G o v e r n o r i s p l e a s e d t o appoint
Thiru M. Balassoupramanien, to be the Drug Inspector
for all the local areas in the Union territory of Puducherry
for the purpose of the said Act with effect from the
forenoon of 29-12-2004.

The Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry is pleased to extend
hospitality to certain other dignitaries visiting this Union
Territory and for the said purpose, hereby makes the following
amendment to the G. O. Rt. No. 183, dated 29-12-1988.

Motor Vehicle Inspector, Transport Department, Karaikal is
declared to have passed the Transport Test held on 11-3-2007.
1. In paragraph 2 of the said Government Order, after
the existing Sl. No. 11, the figures and words, ‘12. Former
Chief Justices of India’ shall be inserted.
N. B.: Requests from unsuccessful candidates as to the
cause of failure or revaluation of answer papers will not be

ORDER
Whereas the Board of Trustees of Sri Ellaiamman Devasthanam, Ellaiamman Koil Street, Puducherry
has proposed to alienate the temple land comprised in Re-survey No. 158/4 of Saram Revenue Village in
Puducherry region to an extent of 00-12-10 Ha. in favour of the 42 residents who are enjoying and possession
of the land for more than a decade as detailed in the enclosed Annexure ;

2. And whereas a Notice No. 3550/CHRI/T.1/2004, dated 20–2–2006 was issued under section 25 (1)
of the Puducherry Hindu Religious Institutions Act, 1972, by the Commissioner, Hindu Religious Institutions,
regarding the proposed sale of the temple land in the Dina Malar on 21-2-2006 for inviting objections/suggestions
if any, from the public till the expiry of 30 days from the date of publication of the said notice in the newspaper;
3. And whereas no objections/suggestions received from the public as warranted under section 25 (1)
of the Puducherry Hindu Religious Institutions Act, 1972.
4. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred to the undersigned under section 25 (1) of the
Puducherry Hindu Religious Institutions Act, 1972, sanction is hereby accorded to the temple authority of
the abovesaid Devasthanam to sale the land comprised in Re-survey No. 158/4 of Saram Revenue Village in
Puducherry region in favour of the residents of 42 numbers as detailed in the Annexure and as proposed by
the temple authority at the rate of Rs. 55 per sq. ft. in respect of 42 residents as has been fixed by the
Government as a special case. Further it is ordered that—
(a) The sale proceeds received from the intended purchaser from time to time have to be remitted
into a nationalised bank in one account and thereafter the total amount should be converted
as fixed deposit in favour of “The Commissioner, Hindu Religious Institutions on account of
Sri Ellaiamman Devasthanam, Ellaiamman Koil Street, Puducherry”.
(b) The fixed deposit shall not be withdrawn from the bank on any account and shall be reinvested
again and again perpetuating the asset.
(c) The transaction shall be completed within the period of six m o n t h s f r o m t h e d a t e o f i s s u e
of this order. If delay occurs beyond the said period of six months in payment of sale proceeds,
interest at 12% per annum to the balance amount or sale amount shall be collected from the
intended purchaser concerned, as the case may be.
(d) The progress report on the alienation of the temple land shall be sent to this office by every
month till the completion of this alienation.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1)
of section 28 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and
Abolition) Act, 1970 (Central Act No. 37 of 1970), and in
supersession of the notification issued in G.O.Ms. No. 47/
90/Lab./G, dated 9-12-1992 of the Labour Department,
Government of Puducherry, save as respects things done
or omitted to be done before such supersession, the
Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, hereby appoints the

Terms and conditions
1. Tenders in sealed covers superscribed as “Tender
for purchase of old newspapers” and should be addressed
to the Programme Officer, National Programme for
Control of Blindness, 1st Floor, Primary Health Centre,
Murungapakkam, Puducherry-605 004.
2. The rate should be quoted separately for each item
and both in figures and words.
3. The tenders should reach the undersigned on or before
3.00 p.m. on 22-8-2007 and will be opened on the same day
at 3.30 p.m. in the presence of the tenderers or their authorised
representatives who may be present.
4. Cash deposit of Rs. 100 (Rupees one hundred only)
should be remitted by each tenderer at the Programme Officer,
National Programme for Control of Blindness, 1st Floor,
Primary Health Centre, Murungapakkam, Puducherry-605 004
at the time of submitting sealed tenders.
5. The earnest money deposit will be refunded to the
unsuccessful tenderers after finalisation of tenders. Tenders
received after the due date and time will be rejected.
6. The intending tenderers may inspect the said old
newspapers during office hours on any working day with
the permission of the undersigned between 3.00 p.m.
and 5.00 p.m. during the last 3 days before the date of
tender sale.
7. The successful tenderer should remove the old
newspapers at his own risk and cost within 24 hours on
receipt of the notice of acceptance of his tender by remitting
the total cost of the old newspapers and sales tax at the
