DIGITAL TELEVISION
Digital television is the broadcasting of
television programmes in digital form.
New programmes are only produced in
digital form. In just a few years analogue
television will have been replaced by digital television. You will not need a new
TV-set to receive digital television. The
only item required is a new Set-Top-Box.
BETTER TELEVISION
The so-called High Definition Television
(HDTV) stands for high-resolution television. Images are up to five times sharper
and have better outlines. The technical
development is a quantum leap and can
be compared with the change from
black/white to colour television. We
would be happy to inform you about our
current offer of HDTV programmes.
INDIVIDUAL TELEVISION
This is television just for you. Expand the
basic digital programme package with
your favourite Pay-TV channels. Enjoy
sports, movies, adult programmes, culture,
lifestyle or foreign languages. Treat yourself to an extra helping of television delight.
SELECTIVE TELEVISION
The EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) is
integrated in digiTV and appears directly
on your TV-screen. It will show you a list
of all programmes for the next several
days. By pressing a button on your remote
control you will be able to view detailed
information about the current or the following programme.
LARGER TELEVISION
The aspect ratio in high definition television is 16:9. With this you will be able to
enjoy the cinema effect at home. Older
television sets may not be able to fully
convert the aspect ratio. In this case black
bars will make the viewable image
smaller.
TELEVISION WHEN YOU WANT IT
You can easily record your favourite
shows with the so-called PVR (Personal
Video Recorder), simply by pushing a button. Or you can interrupt the programme
and continue watching at a later time.
EASY TELEVISION
The WWZ Set-Top-Box does not require
frequency changes. You no longer need to
reprogram new channels. Current changes
are directly forwarded to the Set-Top-Box.

DOLBY DIGITAL TELEVISION
Dolby digital is the term used for a multichannel sound system used in home theatres. With digiTV the sound quality will be
almost as good as in the cinema.
MULTI-LANGUAGE TELEVISION
Some programmes allow you to select
from several available audio languages.

Extensive Programme Selection
BASIS
The digiTV basic package contains about
60 channels, including all the channels
you know from analogue television. The
digital basic package won’t cost you more
than analogue TV, but you will be able to
enjoy the advantages of digital television.*
BASIS PLUS
The extended basic package contains
about 140 digital TV and 100 radio channels for only CHF 5.90 per month.
PAY TV
You will also be able to add additional
channels. If you enjoy watching sports,
documentaries, movies or music, digiTV
offers you more than 70 Pay-TV channels.

CABLE-TV-CONNECTION
digiTV requires a Kabel-TV-subscription
from Wasserwerke Zug or their partners.
SMARTCARD
The Smart Card (SMC) is your personal
key to digiTV. It is inserted into the SetTop-Box and decodes your selected channels.
SET-TOP-BOX (STB)
A Set-Top-Box (STB) is required to receive digital channels on conventional TVsets. The STB will fit any TV-set or video
unit. It is placed between the KABEL-TV
connection and the TV-set and also allows
you to receive digital radio channels.
Would you like to be independent from
the broadcasting schedule of TV-stations?
Then you should choose the HDTV Box
with PVR (Personal Video Recorder).
HDTV Box with PVR
With this Box you will be able to record
your selected programme and watch it
whenever you want. You may also interrupt a programme at any time and continue watching it later.

Our Set-Top-Boxes require very little power on
stand-by. Therefore, we already fulfil the EU CoC
(Code of Conduct).

INSTALLATION
The installation of the Set-Top-Box (STB) is
simple. The STB must be connected with the
TV-wall outlet and the TV-set. Upon request
we would be happy to send one of our local
sales partners to install the Set-Top-Box for
you.
AVAILABILITY
digiTV can be received in canton Zug and
the adjacent communities in cantons
Luzern, Zurich, Schwyz and Aargau. If you
are not sure whether you are connected to
the WWZ cable network, please call us. We
will be able to let you know immediately.
HD-READY?
There are three requirements for High Definition Television (HDTV):
• Programmes in HD-quality
• HD-ready Set-Top-Box
• «HD ready» TV-set
«HD ready» is the EICTA (European Information & Communications Technology Industry) approval label. If a TV-set carries this
label, it fulfils HDTV requirements.
