Buck est une boisson longue et rafraîchissante qui mêle des citrons
frais et du « ginger ale ». On présente ici le Monk Buck de Biarritz
fabriqué avec du Cognac Hennessy et de la Chartreuse Jaune,
immortalisé par un bon vivant tel que Charles H. Baker: « Quelque
chose capable de vous provoquer et de vous donner l’audace de
prendre au petit matin ce bain plutôt glacé (c’est ainsi que nous l’avons
trouvé) que nous offrit la Méditerranée, un printemps, alors que nous
étions arrivés sur place en avance sur la saison ».
Originating from the Bucks Club in London in the 1920’s, The Buck
is a long, thirst-quenching drink using fresh lemons and ginger
ale. We present here the Biarritz Monk Buck, made with Hennessy
Cognac and Yellow Chartreuse and immortalized by bon viveur
Charles H Baker: “Something to cause nerves to join and
coordinate for that morning-after and rather chill swim (we’ve
found) which characterized the Mediterranean when we got there
too soon, one spring.”

THE STRAITS SLING

Créé en 1911 par Ngiam Tong Boom à l’Hôtel Raffles de Singapour,
c’est la version originale du Singapore Sling. Le verre parfait pour
accompagner le coucher de soleil en toute élégance; long et
rafraîchissant, c’est un mélange de London Dry Gin avec des-eauxde-vie de cerise, de la liqueur Bénédictine aux herbes et un « ginger
ale » légèrement épicée.
Created in 1911 by Ngiam Tong Boom at the Raffles Hotel in
Singapore, this is the original Singapore Sling. It is the perfect,
elegant sundowner; long and refreshing, combining London Dry
Gin with eaux-de vie de kirsch (cherry), herbal Benedictine
liqueur and lightly spiced ginger ale.

Un cocktail datant de la Grande Epoque des années vingt à Londres.
On frappe du jus d’orange sanguine frais et de la liqueur d’abricot
avec la chaleur du Calvados et du Tanqueray gin, puis on l’adoucit
avec du Cointreau pour créer un apéritif génial, merveilleux équilibre
entre les notes riches du sucré et de l’amer.
A vintage drink from the wild London cocktail scene of the
1920’s. Fresh blood orange juice and apricot liqueur is shaken
with warming Calvados and Tanqueray gin, then sweetened with
Cointreau to create a great aperitif with a wonderful balance of
rich sweet and sour notes.

Créé à l’origine vers 1880 pendant la Ruée vers l’Or en Californie (et
selon la légende, payé avec une pépite d’or), le Martinez est l’aïeul du
Dry Martini. Sans doute l’un des plus grands cocktails jamais inventés,
un mélange fascinant et inoubliable de gin avec du Vermouth rare
formule Carpano Antica, de la liqueur dry Maraschino et des bitters
piquants à l’orange.
First created in the late 1870’s during the California Gold Rush
(and paid for with a golden nugget according to the legend), the
Martinez is the grandfather of the Dry Martini. Undoubtedly one of
the greatest cocktails ever invented; it is an intriguing and
unforgettable mix of gin with rare Carpano Antica Formula
vermouth, dry Maraschino liqueur and piquant orange bitters
