The English Book Club deals with a collection of
short stories written by the Canadian writer Alice
Munro. Hence the highly interesting literary
genre of the short story as well as cultural and
regional aspects of Canada will be subjects of the
course to gain a substantial background. The stories will be read in class and also be presented
from an audio CD to ensure an intensive understanding and a lively discussion. Therefore an
advanced knowledge of English is necessary.
