Over 20 years before the Dubai boom, abenteuer und reisen magazines were
already featuring extensive reports about the up-and-coming Emirate. Eight
years ago, one of our reports predicted that Abu Dhabi was about to make
the leap onto the list of top tourist destinations, while we first reported on
Myanmar, the big destination for 2013, in a report from 15 years ago entitled
“Beautiful Country, Terrible Generals.”
We don’t steer clear of exotic destinations such as Albania, Somaliland,

such as sustainability in the hotel trade, flight safety or the outlook as regards
