Neue Entgeltstruktur am EEX-Terminmarkt für Emissionsrechte mit
Einführung von CER-Futures und Optionen auf European-CarbonFutures
Sehr geehrter Handelsteilnehmer,
die Energiebörse European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) und die Terminbörse Eurex AG bauen ihre Kooperation im Emissionsrechte-Handel mit der Einführung von CER Futures am 26. März 2008
und von Optionen auf European-Carbon-Futures am 14. April 2008 auf der Börsenplattform der
EEX weiter aus.
Deshalb ändert die EEX Ihr Preisverzeichnis mit Wirkung zum 26.3.2008, welches Ihnen ab sofort
zum Download zur Verfügung steht:

EUA-Futures:
Die derzeit bis 31.März 2008 gültige Fee Holiday für Börsen- und OTC-Geschäfte in EuropeanCarbon-Futures in Höhe von 50% wird bis zum Ende des Jahres 2008 verlängert. Damit beträgt
das reduzierte Transaktionsentgelt für Börsenhandel und Registrierung von OTC-Geschäften in
diesem Zeitraum 0,001 EUR/tCO2.
Ab 1. April 2008 bietet EEX eine auf 3 Monate begrenzte Fee Holiday in Höhe von 75% für die
Registrierung von OTC-Altgeschäften (Legacy Trades) an. In dieser bis 30. Juni 2008 geltenden
Periode beträgt das reduzierte Transaktionsentgelt für die Registrierung von OTC-Altgeschäften
lediglich 0,0005 EUR/tCO2. Bitte setzen Sie sich vor Eingabe des Legacy Trades in das EEXSystem mit der EEX Marktsteuerung in Verbindung.
Optionen auf EUA-Futures:
Mit Einführung der Optionen auf European-Carbon-Futures am 14. April 2008 bietet EEX eine Fee
Holiday in Höhe von 50% für Transaktionsentgelte für Börsen- und OTC-Geschäfte an. Diese gilt
bis Ende des Jahres 2008. Damit beträgt das reduzierte Transaktionsentgelt für Börsenhandel und
Registrierung von OTC-Geschäften in diesem Zeitraum 0,001 EUR/tCO2.
CER-Futures:
Mit Einführung der CER-Futures am 26. März 2008 bietet EEX bis zum Ende des Jahres 2008 eine
vollständige Fee Holiday in Höhe von 100% für Transaktionsentgelte für Börsen- und OTCGeschäfte an. In diesem Zeitraum werden keine börslichen Transaktionsentgelte erhoben.

EEX bietet Börsenteilnehmern, die mehrere Produkte am CO2-Terminmarkt quotieren spezielle
Market Maker Pakete an. Bitte wenden Sie sich bei Interesse an die EEX Marktsteuerung oder ihren Kundenbetreuer.

New Fee Structure at the EEX Derivatives Market for Emission
Rights with Launch of CER Futures and Options on European Carbon Futures

The European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) and the Exchange Eurex AG are expanding their cooperation in the area of emissions trading with the launch of CER Futures on March 26, 2008 as
well as options on European Carbon Futures on April 14, 2008 on the trading platform of the EEX.
For this reason the EEX will be changing its price list as of March 26, 2008. The price list is available for downloading at the following address:

With the launch of the new products, the following fee reductions, which were planned for a limited

EUA Futures:
The fee holiday which runs through March 31, 2008 for exchange and OTC trades in European
Carbon Futures in the amount of 50% will be extended until the end of 2008. The reduced fee for
exchange trading and registration of OTC trades during this period of time would be 0.001 EUR/
tCO2.
Starting on April 1, 2008, the EEX will offer a fee holiday of 75% which is limited to 3 months for
the registration of historical OTC trades (legacy trades). During this period of time the reduced fee
for the registration of OTC legacy trades is only 0.0005 EUR/tCO2. Please contact EEX Market
Supervision prior to entering any legacy trades into the EEX system.
Options on EUA Futures:
With the launch of options on European Carbon Futures on April 14, 2008, the EEX is offering a
fee holiday in the amount of 50% on fees for exchange and OTC trades. This fee reduction will remain in effect until the end of 2008. The reduced fee for exchange trading and registration of OTC
trades during this period of time is 0,001 EUR/tCO2.
CER Futures:
With the launch of the CER Futures on March 26, 2008, the EEX is offering a complete fee holiday
of 100% for fees for exchange and OTC trades. During this period of time no exchange fees will be
charged.
Market Making
EEX is now offering exchange participants, which quote several products on the CO2 derivatives
market, special Market Maker packages. Please contact EEX Market Supervision or your key account manager if you are interested.
