20.01.2010 NEW WALDSCHULE BUILDING IN CASTROP-RAUXEL 13:41 Uhr Seite 1 BUILDING CLIENT: Castrop-Rauxel municipal authority INSTALLATION: van Paridon GmbH, Goch PRODUCTS: WC modules, urinal modules, TECEplanus with urinal electronics A WATER-SAVING FLUSH School fitted with TECE flush components The building services concept for the Waldschule in Castrop-Rauxel does without sources of energy that are harmful to the environment. It helps to save valuable drinking water and ensures low operating costs over the long term. Forward-looking flush components from TECE also offer ways of drastically reducing the volume of flush water used. The flush technology comes from TECE, the flush water from the clouds – the newly built Waldschule in the city of Castrop-Rauxel counts on an environmentally friendly building services concept. While a photovoltaic system provides energy, a rain water tank provides the water for toilets and the garden. From their own schoolʼs example, the 250 or so pupils at the Waldschule can learn about what alternative sources of energy and water can do. Thanks to the alternative concept, the school will have low operating costs over the long term. A booster station pumps the rain water out of the tank into the pipes for toilets and urinals. The TECE concealed cistern with dual flush technology flushes away faeces with 6 litres and urine with a 3 litre flush. If less rain falls in the future and the tank provides less water, the new TECE drain valve and the right toilet ceramics can help to reduce water consumption significantly. The TECE technology also offers the watersaving option for urinals. The electronic actuationʼs pause function enables water consumption for the schoolʼs urinals to be reduced by up to 40 percent. Innovative flush technology: The TECE technology is hidden behind the toilet push plate (TECEplanus) with its two buttons. Gregor Kania is a qualified engineer for supply engineering at the real estate management department of the city of Castrop-Rauxel and provided support for construction of the new Waldschule with regard to building services: “We set high quality requirements in our invitations to tender. Functional reliability and the meeting of quality standards are at the very top of the list. After this, a repeat purchase guarantee and the general availability of spare parts are of course important factors. If possible, the manufacturer should still exist in 20 yearsʼ time.” www.tece.de DS001 002 59 a TECEArtikel_GB:TECE_Artikel1
