You are invited to join us for a very special VIP event where the impressive silhouette of the
former imperial palace and people in historical costume await you upon your arrival in Bad
Wimpfen. First up, a welcoming ceremony with Claus Brechter, mayor of Bad Wimpfen, in
the Rathaus (Town hall) reception room "where kings and emperors once held court”, then a
tour of an imperial residence of the former Staufer dynasty with guides in historical costume
showing us the "Blue Tower", Stone House, Royal Chapel, "Red Tower", Hohenstaufen Gate,
and the old town center of Bad Wimpfen which is under the protection of the Historic
Monuments Act. Enjoy a sightseeing tour through romantic narrow streets with decorative
flowers, fountains and half-timbered houses. Also, an introduction to herbal practices of the
past in historical surroundings and the sampling of a fine glass of herbal liquor with an
herbalist, who will even let us in on some of the medicinal secrets and anecdotes of her herb
garden.

Before dinner we will have the opportunity to take a stroll through the old town center with its
quaint shops and galleries, or to climb the "Blue Tower - Blauer Turm" and meet the only
female tower warden in Germany, Mrs. Blanca Knodel, and enjoy the view from the parapet
overlooking the old town and the Neckar River valley with its many castles. (€ 1.50)
We will be having a three course Swabian meal, with three items per course at the
Restaurant Friedrich, Hauptstrasse 74, 74206 Bad Wimpfen, 07063-245 at 18:00
Cost, includes bus transportation, events and meal: € 45 members, € 55 non-members.
Arrangements can be made for a vegetarian meal.
