Contenu
Numerous actors (such as air carriers, MRO or specialised companies) design their own major
modifications to be installed onto aircraft. These major modifications, which are not designed
by the type certificate holder of the concerned aircraft, are called STC (supplemental type
certificate).
This module intends to provide a wide knowledge about the STC, and to describe the
interactions between STC and existing organisations approvals (especially DOA, but also
POA, CAMO and approval of maintenance organisations).
Introduction to applicable international airworthiness regulations and STC key
notions
ICAO requirements for changed products
Reminder on EASA regulations and delegation system
EASA Part 21 subpart E

POA, MOA, CAMO and authorities) and of their interactions
General responsibility for control of aircraft configuration
Interactions between approved organisations during change project
STC project development and coordination with EASA
STC validation by foreign authorities
Reminder of the principles for design and certification, using DOA
documentary system
Demonstration of capability – DOA
