Wichtige Hinweise
i Vor der Inbetriebnahme, dem Anschluss und der Bedienung von Testgeräten ist es unbedingt erforderlich, die Bedienungsanweisung und besonders die
Sicherheitshinweise sorgfältig durchzuarbeiten. Damit schließen Sie, zu Ihrer eigenen Sicherheit und um
Schäden am Gerät zu vermeiden, Unsicherheiten im
Umgang mit Testgeräten und damit verbundene Sicherheitsrisiken von vornherein aus.
Nachfolgend wird anstelle von „PC-Rechnereinheit“
nur die Kurzform „PC“ verwendet.

Benutzergruppe
Dieses Gerät wurde für das eingewiesene Fachpersonal
in der Kraftfahrzeugbranche entwickelt und gefertigt.
1.2
Vereinbarung
Gewährleistung
Die Verwendung von nicht freigegebener Hard- und
Software führt zu einer Veränderung unserer Produkte
und somit zum Ausschluss jeglicher Haftung und Gewährleistung, auch wenn die Hard- bzw. Software inzwischen wieder entfernt oder gelöscht worden ist.
Es dürfen keine Veränderungen an unseren Erzeugnissen vorgenommen werden. Unsere Erzeugnisse dürfen
nur mit Originalzubehör verwendet werden.
Andernfalls entfallen sämtliche Gewährleistungsansprüche.
Vorliegendes ATT-Prüfgerät darf nur mit den von ATT freigegebenen Betriebssystemen betrieben werden. Wird
das ATT-Prüfgerät mit einem anderen als dem freigegebenen Betriebssystem betrieben, so erlischt hierdurch
unsere Gewährleistungspflicht nach Maßgabe unserer
Lieferungsbedingungen. Des Weiteren können wir für
Schäden und Folgeschäden, die ihre Ursache in der
Verwendung eines nicht freigegebenen Betriebssystems
haben, keine Haftung übernehmen.
Durch Benutzung des Produkts erkennen Sie die folgenden Bestimmungen an:
Urheberrecht
Software und Daten sind Eigentum des Herstellers oder
deren Lieferanten und durch Urheberrechtsgesetze, internationale Verträge und andere nationale Rechtsvorschriften gegen Vervielfältigung geschützt. Vervielfältigung oder Veräußerung von Daten und Software oder
eines Teiles davon sind unzulässig und strafbar; im Falle
von Zuwiderhandlungen behält sich der Hersteller strafrechtliche Verfolgung und Geltendmachung von Schadensersatzansprüchen vor.

Sicherheitshinweise
Der Netzstecker dient zur Hauptunterbrechung des PCs. Die Wandsteckdose muss
für den Techniker gut zugänglich sein.
- Befolgen Sie alle auf diesem Produkt angebrachten
und in dieser Dokumentation aufgeführten Anweisungen.
- Ziehen Sie vor der Reinigung dieses Produktes den
Netzstecker. Verwenden Sie keine flüssigen oder aerosolhaltigen Reinigungsmittel. Benutzen Sie zur Reinigung nur ein feuchtes Tuch.
- Tritt einer der folgenden Fälle ein, ziehen Sie den Netzstecker des Systems aus der Steckdose und lassen Sie
das System von qualifizierten Technikern warten:

Die Leitung oder der Stecker sind beschädigt.

Es wurde Flüssigkeit in das System verschüttet.

Das System arbeitet trotz Befolgung der Anweisungen nicht ordnungsgemäß.

Das System wurde fallen gelassen oder das Gehäuse ist beschädigt.
- Verwenden Sie dieses Produkt nicht in der Nähe von
Wasser. Verschütten Sie keine Flüssigkeit auf oder in
das Produkt.
- Stellen Sie dieses Produkt nicht auf eine instabile Oberfläche.
- Im Gehäuse befinden sich Öffnungen zur Belüftung.
Diese Öffnungen dürfen nicht zugestellt oder verdeckt
werden. Stellen Sie dieses Produkt nicht neben oder
auf einem Heizkörper auf.
- Verwenden Sie nur die am Netzanschluss angegebene Stromquelle. Sind Sie unsicher, welche Art von
Stromquelle Sie haben, wenden Sie sich an Ihr örtliches
Energieversorgungsunternehmen.
- Dieses Produkt ist ausgerüstet mit einem 3-adrigen
Schutzkontaktstecker (Stecker mit einem Schutzkontaktstift). Dieser Stecker passt nur in eine geerdete
Steckdose. Dies ist eine Sicherheitsmaßnahme. Passt
der Stecker nicht in Ihre Steckdose, wenden Sie sich
an Ihren Elektriker, damit die Steckdose ausgetauscht
werden kann.
- Treten Sie nicht auf die Kabel und stellen Sie nichts
darauf.
- Verwenden Sie für dieses System ein Verlängerungskabel, so vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Gesamtstromstärke aller an dieses Verlängerungskabel angeschlossenen Geräte die zulässige Stromstärke für das
Verlängerungskabel nicht überschreitet. Außerdem
darf die Stromstärke für alle an diese Wandsteckdose
angeschlossenen Geräte insgesamt 10 Ampere nicht
überschreiten.
- Stecken Sie keine Gegenstände in die Lüftungsschlitze
des Systems.
- Versuchen Sie nicht, Ihr System selbst zu warten! Überlassen Sie die Wartung einem qualifizierten Techniker.

Der PC verfügt über einen Ethernet 10/100/1000 Netzwerkanschluss on board (11). Die Einbindung des PCs
in das Netzwerk der Werkstatt sowie die Installation der
Netzwerk-Software (AWN) erfolgt durch den Netzwerkadministrator und/oder durch den Kundendienst.

Das Aussehen und die Bedienung des PCs können leicht
von dieser Beschreibung abweichen. Die Grundfunktionalität ist jedoch identisch.
3.4
Netzwerkanbindung
PC-Tastatur
Die Tastatur ist aufgrund von verschiedenen Ländervarianten nicht im Lieferumfang des PCs enthalten.
Diese wird mit dem Haupterzeugnis in der entsprechenden Sprache bestellt und ausgeliefert. Die Tastenbelegung entnehmen Sie bitte der jeweiligen Bedienungsanleitung. Die Tastatur wird entweder in einen der
USB-Anschlüsse oder aber den violetten PS2-Anschluss
gesteckt.

Maus
Das Arbeiten mit einer Maus im Werkstattbereich ist aufgrund der anfallenden Verschmutzung kritisch.
Beim Einsatz einer Maus erfolgt z.B. das Starten von Programmen durch Doppelklicken mit der Maustaste.
Die Maus wird entweder an einem der USB-Anschlüsse
oder aber dem grünen PS2-Anschluss angeschlossen.

Softwareinstallation
Der PC 0 986 400 U50N verwendet Windows XP Embedded in Englisch, welches bereits vorinstalliert ist. Die Umstellung der Betriebssystem-Sprache ist folgendermaßen
vorzunehmen:
Unter dem folgenden DropDown-Menü werden die
Standards und Formate (z.B. Uhrzeit, Währung, usw.) des
jeweiligen Landes festgelegt.
„Regional and Language Options“ anklicken
Unter dem folgenden DropDown-Menü wird der Standort des PCs festgelegt.

Durch Anklicken von „Languages“ wird zur zweiten Registerkarte gewechselt.
Durch Anklicken von „Advanced“ wird zur dritten Registerkarte gewechselt.
Unter dem folgenden DropDown-Menü wird die Sprache der Menüs und Windowsfenster festgelegt.

Damit die Einstellungen bei allen User-Accounts durchgeführt wird, muss das folgende Häkchen gesetzt werden
Die Umstellung der länderspezifischen Tastatur ist folgendermaßen vorzunehmen:
Mit „OK“ bestätigen
Da sich die zur Sprachenumstellung nötigen Dateien bereits auf dem System befinden, muss keine CD eingelegt
werden.
Mit „Yes“ bestätigen
Damit alle Einstellungen wirksam werden, muss der PC
neu gestartet werden.

4.1
Einschalten / Selbsttest
Drücken Sie zum Einschalten den Ein/Aus-Schalter an
der Frontblende. Die Kontrollleuchte für Betriebsbereitschaft des PCs an der Frontblende wird leuchten und
EIN signalisieren.
Bei ATT-Produkten, in denen dieser PC eingebaut wurde, müssen Sie den PC über den zentralen Netzschalter am Gerät einschalten. Dadurch werden alle Komponenten (TFT-Monitor, PC-Rechnereinheit, Drucker...)
einge¬schaltet. Voraussetzung hierfür ist, dass alle Komponenten mit ihren eigenen Netzschaltern eingeschaltet wurden.
Nach erfolgreichem Selbsttest und dem Laden des
Betriebs¬systems erscheint der Desktop von Windows.
4.5
- Um den Auslieferungszustand des Systems wiederherzustellen, muss die Recovery-CD 1 987 009 U3AN eingelegt und der PC neugestartet werden. Das System
bootet jetzt von der CD.
- Im folgenden Menü muss ‚Restore System‘ gewählt
werden um das System wiederherzustellen (Dauer ca.
2 Minuten).
- Wenn der Auslieferungszustand wiederhergestellt wurde muss die CD entnommen und der PC neu gestartet
werden.

4.2
Ausschalten
- Alle offenen Programme beenden.
- Klicken Sie auf Start / Beenden und wählen Sie Herunterfahren. Bestätigen Sie mit OK, um den PC auszuschalten.
- Der PC schaltet nach Herunterfahren von Windows XP
selbstständig ab.
4.3
BackUp erstellen
- Um ein BackUp des Systems herzustellen wird die Recovery-CD 1 987 009 U3AN benötigt. Mit der Recovery-CD besteht die Möglichkeit, den Festplatteninhalt
mit allen Windows-Einstellungen zu sichern und jederzeit wieder herzustellen.
- Um ein BackUp auf Laufwerk D: des Systems abzulegen, muss die Recovery-CD 1 987 009 U3AN eingelegt
und der PC neugestartet werden. Das System bootet
jetzt von der CD.
- Im folgenden Menü muss ‚Auto-Backup‘ gewählt werden um ein BackUP zu erstellen (Dauer ca. 2 Minuten).
- Wenn das BackUp erstellt wurde muss die CD entnommen und der PC neu gestartet werden.
4.4
Recovery des Systems durchführen
- Bei einem fehlerhaften System oder aber auch nur
falsch konfigurierten System, kann das zuvor gesicherte System (BackUp) wiederhergestellt werden.
- Um ein Recovery vom Laufwerk D: des Systems wiederherzustellen, muss die Recovery-CD 1 987 009
U3AN eingelegt und der PC neugestartet werden. Das
System bootet jetzt von der CD.
- Im folgenden Menü muss ‚Auto-Restore‘ gewählt werden um das System wiederherzustellen (Dauer ca. 2
Minuten).
- Wenn das Recovery durchgeführt wurde muss die CD
entnommen und der PC neu gestartet werden.

! Wir weisen ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass die Installation eines nicht von ATT freigegebenen Druckers
und dessen Treibers auf eigenes Risiko geschieht. Für
Folgeschäden haftet der Benutzer.
6
Beseitigung von Störungen
Dieses Kapitel enthält eine Zusammenfassung von Informationen, mit deren Hilfe Probleme beseitigt werden
können, die bei der Benutzung des PCs auftreten können.
! Wenn Sie das Problem mit diesen Hinweisen nicht lösen können, wenden Sie sich an den Kundendienst.
Geben Sie dabei bitte immer die Seriennummer an,
welche sich seitlich auf einem Aufkleber am PC befindet.
6.1
Wenn der PC nicht einwandfrei startet
Wenn nach dem Einschalten des PC der Monitor dunkel
bleibt und keine Fehlermeldungen angezeigt werden,
gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
- Prüfen Sie, ob der Computer und der Monitor eingeschaltet sind (achten Sie auf die Kontrollleuchten).
- Überprüfen Sie die Kontrast- und Helligkeitsregler des
Monitors.

- Überzeugen Sie sich, dass alle Kabel und Netzkabel
fest eingesteckt sind.
- Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Stromversorgung für System
und Monitor vorhanden ist.
6.2
Wenn der Monitor nicht funktioniert
Wenn am Monitor nichts angezeigt wird, obwohl der PC
startet und die Tastatur und alle angeschlossenen Peripheriegeräte einwandfrei zu funktionieren scheinen,
überprüfen Sie folgendes:
-
Überprüfen Sie die Helligkeits- und Kontrastregler des
Monitors.
-
Überprüfen Sie, ob das Monitorkabel korrekt angeschlossen ist.
-
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Monitor an eine Steckdose angeschlossen und eingeschaltet ist.
-
Schalten Sie den Monitor aus und ziehen Sie das
Netzkabel aus der Steckdose. Ziehen Sie das Monitorkabel ab und prüfen Sie, ob die Stifte des Monitorkabels verbogen sind. Biegen Sie ggf. verbogene
Stifte vorsichtig wieder gerade.

Wenn die Anzeige nicht richtig ausgerichtet ist, zentrieren Sie diese mit den Reglern am Monitor (weitere Informationen hierzu finden Sie im Handbuch
zum Monitor). Überprüfen Sie auch anhand des
Monitorhandbuchs, welche Bildwiederholfrequenz
erforderlich ist. Rufen Sie die entsprechenden Funktionen des Betriebssystems auf, um die korrekte Bildwiederholfrequenz auszuwählen.
Wenn die Tastatur nicht funktioniert
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Tastatur korrekt am
Tastaturanschluss (und nicht am Mausanschluss) des
PC angeschlossen ist.

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich keine Tasten auf der
Tastatur verklemmt haben. Wenn dies bei einer Taste der Fall ist, lösen Sie diese, indem Sie sie mit dem
Finger vorsichtig nach oben drücken.
-
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass über die Tastatur keine
Flüssigkeit geschüttet wurde. Wenn dies der Fall ist,
lassen Sie Ihre Tastatur reparieren oder tauschen Sie
sie aus.
6.4
Wenn die Maus nicht funktioniert
-
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Maus korrekt am
Mausanschluss (und nicht am Tastaturanschluss) des
PCs angeschlossen ist.
-
Achten Sie darauf, dass der in der vorinstallierten
Software enthaltene Maustreiber korrekt installiert
ist.

6.5
Wenn die CD / DVD-ROM nicht gelesen wird
Kontrollieren Sie bei Störungen ob die CD / DVD auf der
nicht bedruckten Seite sauber ist und ob sie korrekt eingelegt ist. Ein erforderlicher Datenzugriff des PCs auf die
CD / DVD ist sonst nicht möglich.

Reinigung
Schalten Sie den PC und alle daran angeschlossenen
Geräte aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der geerdeten Schutzkontakt-Steckdose.
Der Gehäuseinnenraum des PCs darf nur
von autorisiertem Personal gereinigt werden.
Verwenden Sie für die Reinigung keine Scheuerpulver
und keine kunststofflösenden Reinigungsmittel. Achten
Sie darauf, dass keine Flüssigkeit in das Innere der Geräte gelangt.
Tastatur, Touchpad und Maus können Sie außen mit
Desinfektionstüchern reinigen.

PC transportieren
! Transportieren Sie alle Geräte einzeln und nur in ihrer Originalverpackung oder in einer anderen geeigneten Verpackung, die Schutz gegen Stoß und
Schlag gewährt. Packen Sie die Geräte erst am Aufstellungsort aus.

prohibiting illegal copy. To copy or sell data or software
as a whole or in parts is unlawful. On violation of this
rule, the manufacturer can take legal action and claim
compensation.
Liability
All data in this software is based on manufacturer and
importer specifications. ATT GmbH does not take liability for correctness and completeness of software and
data. Compensation for damage resulting from faulty
software or data is excluded. In any case the liability of
ATT GmbH is limited to the amount the customer has actually paid for the product. This limitation does not apply
to damage caused by intention or rough negligence on
ATT GmbH’s part.
Warranty
The use of hard- and software that was not homologated for use with our products causes changes that void
warranty and liability, even if that hard- or software has
been removed.
It is not permitted to modify our products. It is only permitted to use original accessories, otherwise warranty is
void.
The described ATT test equipment may only be used
with the operating system homologated by ATT. Using
it with a different operating system excludes warranty,
according to our terms of delivery. Furthermore, we can
not accept liability for damage and subsequential damage caused by the use of an operating system that
was not homologated for use with this equipment.

Safety hints
! The power plug acts as an isolator fort he PC. The
wall outlet has to be accessible for the technician.
- Follow the directions given in this document and on
the product.
- Disconnect mains power before cleaning the product.
Do not use liquid or aerosol detergents. Do only use a
damp cloth for cleaning.
- Do not use the product in the vicinity of water. Do not
let liquids get onto or into the products.
- Do not place the product on an instable surface.
- There are venting holes in the cabinet. It is not permitted to block these holes. Do not place the product
onto or next to a heater or radiator.
- Do only use the power supply specified on the
manufacturer’s ID. If you are uncertain what kind of
power supply is available, contact your local power
supplier.
- This product is equipped with a 3-core power plug
(power plug with protecitve earth connection). This
plug will only fit into a wall outlet that provides a protective earth connection. This is a safety measure. If
the plug does not fit into the wall outlet, consult a certified electrician to change the connection.
- Do not step onto the cables and do not put any objects onto them.
- If you are operating this product on an extension cord,
make sure that the combined amperage of all equipment plugged into the cord does not exceed its specified maximum amperage. Additionally the overall
amperage plugged into the wall outlet is not to exceed 10 Ampere.
- Do not place objects into the venting holes of the system.
- Do not try to do maintenance of the system yourself.
Have the maintenance done by a qualified technician.
- If one of the following occurs, unplug the power plug
from the wall outlet, and have the system maintained
by a qualified technician:

Cable or plug damaged.

Liquid entered the system.

In spite of following the instructions, the system does
not operate properly.

The system fell down or the cabinet is damaged.

The PC has an Ethernet 10/100/1000 network connection on board (11). Setup of the PC’s network properties
to fit the workshop network, as well as installation of the
special network software (AWN) is done by the network
administrator or by a qualified service technician.

Network connections
Keyboard
The keyboard is not in the scope of delivery of the PC
unit. It is part of the test equipment the PC is used with,
and is available in many specific language formats. Individual functions of the keys are described in the operating instruction of the test equipment. The keyboard
either comes with a USB cable, or with a PS/2 connector,
and is plugged into the matching socket on the PC.

Mouse
Using the mouse in a workshop environment is problematic due to dirt and dust.
When using the mouse, you can e.g. start programs by
double clicking the left mouse button.
Depending on the type, plug the mouse either into the
light green PS/2 socket, or into one of the USB connectors.

Pre-installed English Windows XP embedded is used on
PC 0 986 400 U50N. The conversion of the operating system language is to be made as follows:
Establish in the following drop-down menu, the standards and formats (eg, time, currency, etc.) for each
country.

Power On / Self test

Restoring the factory default
To turn the PC on, press the power button on the front of
the PC. The LEDs on the front cover will be lighting and
show “On”.
- To restore the factory settings insert the recovery CD
1 987 009 U3AN and reboot the computer. The system
now boots from the CD.
On ATT products, in which this PC is used, you can use
the central isolator switch, and the PC and other components (monitor, ….) will boot up. Components with separate isolator switch need to be switched on in order
to make this work.
- The following menu should be selected ‚restore system‘ to restore the factory settings (takes about 2 minutes).
After successful self test and loading of the operating
system, the desktop of Windows is shown.
4.2
Shutting down
- Close all open applications.
- Click on Start / Shut down, select Shut down and confirm OK to shut the PC down.
- After Windows was properly terminated, the PC will
automatically switch itself off.

On the PC unit, the following printers are pre-installed:

- 0 986 400 U40N HP Deskjet D1660
- To make a backup of the system recovery CD 1 987
009 U3AN is needed. The hard drive contents with all
Windows settings will be saved and restored at any
time.
- To create a backup on D: drive insert the recovery CD
1 987 009 U3AN and reboot the computer. The system
now boots from the CD.
- The following menu should be selected ‚auto-backup‘ to create a backup (takes about 2 minutes).
- If the backup was created the CD must be removed.
Restart the PC again.

Performing a Recovery process
- If the system is faulty or incorrect configured restore
with the previously saved system backup.
- To performing a recovery insert the recovery CD 1 987
009 U3AN and reboot the computer. The system now
boots from the CD.
- The following menu should be selected ‚auto-restore‘
to restore a backup (takes about 2 minutes).
- If the backup was finished the CD must be removed.
Restart the PC again.

6.
Troubleshooting
This section gives you an overview of information which
will help to solve problems that can come up when
using the PC.
i If the problem can not be solved by following these
hints, contact the aftersales service.
Do always quote the serial number, which can be
found on a sticker on the PC.
6.1
PC does not start properly
If the monitor stays dark after turning on the PC, no error
messages:
-
Check whether PC and Monitor are powered up, to
be verified on the power LEDs.
-
Verify the settings for contrast and/or brightness on
the monitor.
-
Make sure that the power cords and signal cables
are all properly plugged in.
-
Check wheter mains power is available at all.

Monitor does not work correctly

Cleaning
If the Monitor stays dark, although the PC starts up, the
Keyboard and other peripheric units seem to work ok,
please check this:
Switch off the PC and all units attached to it. Unplug the
power from the wall outlet.
-
Verify the settings for contrast and/or brightness on
the monitor.
! The inside of the PC may only be cleaned by authorized specialists.
-
Make sure that the signal cable is properly plugged
in.
-
Make sure that the power cord has power, and is
plugged in, and that the monitor is switched on.
-
Turn the monitor off, unplug the power cord. Unplug
the signal cable form the PC, and check that none
of the pins of the plug are bent. If necessary, you
can try to carefully rectify bent pins.
-

If the displayed image is not placed correctly, change
the settings according to the monitor’s manual. Do also
check in that manual, what refresh frequency the monitor is suitable for. That frequency is selectable in the
settings of the operating system.
Keyboard does not work
-
Make sure that a PS2 keyboard is plugged into the
keyboard socket, and not the mouse socket.
-
Verify that none of the keys is stuck. If so, you can
carefully release the key by pulling it up with your
fingers.
-

If there was liquid spilled over the keyboard, have it
exchanged.
Mouse is not functioning
-
Make sure that a PS2 mouse is plugged into the
mouse socket, and not the keyboard socket.
-
If preinstalled software has a mouse driver, make
sure it is installed correctly.
6.5
CD / DVD-ROM cannot be read
Verify that the CD / DVD is clean on the non-printed
side, and that it is inserted correctly. Otherwise, the PC
can not access the CD / DVD.

Do not use abrasive detergents, and no solvants. Make
sure that no liquid gets inside the unit.
Keyboard, Touchpad, and Mouse can be cleaned from
outside with desinfection towels. On the underside of
a PS2 mouse, you can unlock the fixing ring, and then
clean the meachnics and the ball inside with a lint-free
cloth.

Transport PC
! Transport all units only in their original packaging, or
in any other packaging that protects against shock.
Unpack the parts only in the location of use. Do not
drop a CRT Monitor (Danger of implosion).
