t Atlantic Canada Kyokushin Karate presents Nova Scotia Cup 2007 Dear Shihan, Senseï and Instructors Nova Scotia Kyokushin Karate on behalf of Atlantic Canada Kyokushin Karate would like to invite you and your team to our 1st Kata, semi-knockdown and knockdown tournament, th Saturday October 13 2007 at the Carrefour Du Grand-Havre School in Dartmouth, NS, located at 201 Ave Du Portage. The tournament will start at 10h00 am. Knockdown division will be held in the evening. This tournament will follow the Kyokushin Karate rules and is open to all styles of martial arts. We are honoured to be the host of this year’s junior fight trials for the Canadian Royama Kyokushin Kan Organization. The best fighters of each junior division will be picked to represent Canada in Japan at the world tournament in April 2008. Your participation to this tournament will increase the level of this event. It will also provide a chance to get all the different Martial Arts and Dojo closer. The championship is opened to all karate-ka. Each tournament gets the student to evaluate his willpower, self control, determination and his techniques. We would appreciate to receive your responses before September 31st. You will find attached the complete set of rules about this tournament. Cette compétition se déroulera le samedi 13 Octobre 2007 au Carrefour Du Grand-Havre à Dartmouth. La compétition débutera à 10h00 en matinée et la catégorie Knock-down aura lieu en soirée. La compétition respectera les règles du Karaté Kyokushin et est ouverte à tous les styles d’arts martiaux. Nous sommes honorés d’être les hôtes des qualifications junior pour l’organisation canadienne Royama Kyokushin kan. Les meilleurs combattants de chaque catégorie junior seront sélectionnés en vue de représenter le Canada lors du championnat mondial au Japon en avril 2008. Votre présence rehausserait le niveau de cette compétition et permettrait également un rapprochement entre les différents Dojos et styles d’arts martiaux. Disqualification will occur if one of these techniques is used a second time or if the judges consider that it was used on purpose. A karate ka may earn it when he legally puts his opponent out of combat for a duration that does not exceed 5 seconds. Ippon: It is a complete point. A karate ka may earn it when he puts his opponent KO for more than 5 seconds. Same rules for the 18 years old and more, except that brown and black belts don’t have to wear the helmet. Divisions Kumite; For all belt levels that will fight during day time, weight category will be arranged before the competition depending on the quantity of competitors Kids (Boys and Girls will be separated, they will fight during day time) (7-8-9-10 years old, all belts), Boys (11-12-13 years old, all belts), Boys (7-8-9-10 years old, all belts), Girls (11-12-13 years old, all belts), Girls Juniors; (14-17 years old, all belts), Boys Girls 125 lbs and less 114 lbs and less 126 to 140 lbs 115 to 130 lbs 141 and higher 131 and higher Adults semi-knockdown (18 years and older, brown and black belts), they will fight during day time and great finale will probably stand during the evening. Man Women 155 lbs and under 130lbs and under 156 to 180 lbs 131 to 150 lbs 180 and higher 151 lbs and higher COMBAT CONTACT Men and women will be separated (The ACKK organisation may proceed to some changes if necessary) TAKE NOTE: Official weight measurement will stand at the Carrefour Du GrandHavre, Friday October 13th at 6h00 pm. Weight measurement is necessary only for the karate ka who will participate at the evening event on Saturday. Those fights should begin around 7:00 pm. NOTE : A fighter who don’t make the weight will NOT be desqualified but will fight in the category he belongs to. Weight category for evening events Open 18 years and older Light Middle Heavy Men 160lbs and less 161 to190 lbs 191 lbs and up Women 130lbs and less 131 to 150 lbs 151 lbs and up For all belt levels that will fight during day time, weight category will be arranged before the competition depending on the quantity of competitors. Seniors (40+) Same as above TAKE NOTE: It is possible that junior brown and black belts full-contact competition will stand during the evening. This tournament will be under Kyokushin Karate rules, we would like for all participant to wear a traditional Karate Gi. If you need a Gi we will provide it for a reasonable price.
