Belangrijk
Neem de tijd om deze gebruikershandleiding door te nemen voordat u de digitale satellietontvanger
gaat gebruiken.
De handleiding bevat belangrijke informatie en opmerkingen over het gebruik.
Uw oude product verwijderen.
Het product is vervaardigd uit materialen en onderdelen van hoge
kwaliteit, die opnieuw gebruikt kunnen worden.
Het symbool van een vuilnisbak met een kruis erdoor op een product
of op de verpakking betekent dat het product voldoet aan de Europese
Richtlijn 2002/96/EG.
Stel uzelf op de hoogte van het bij u geldende systeem van inzameling
van elektronische producten.
Houd u aan de plaatselijke voorschriften en zet oude producten niet bij
het huisvuil.
De correcte vernietiging van uw oude producten voorkomt schade aan
milieu en volksgezondheid.
Het recyclingsymbool op verpakkingen en gebruiksaanwijzingen betekent
dat deze onderdelen gerecycleerd kunnen worden.
Zet ze dus niet bij het huisvuil..

De digitale satellietontvanger is vervaardigd volgens de geldende veiligheidsvoorschriften.Voor
een veilig gebruik dient u de instructies hieronder op te volgen. Bewaar deze gebruiksaanwijzing
zorgvuldig.
Gevaarlijk
• De digitale satellietontvanger bevat geen onderdelen die u zelf kunt vervangen of repareren.
Probeer hem niet te openen. Alle onderhoudswerkzaamheden dienen door vakbekwame
servicecentra te worden uitgevoerd.
• Zorg ervoor dat kinderen geen vreemde voorwerpen in een van de openingen stoppen.
WAARSCHUWINGEN:
• Controleer of de voltage achterop de digitale satellietontvanger overeenkomt met de spanning
van het lichtnet, voordat u het apparaat aansluit.
• Haal altijd eerst alle andere stekkers van de ontvanger voordat u de spanningskabel los haalt.
Kinderen kunnen zichzelf ernstig verwonden, omdat de kabel dan nog onder spanning staat.
• Aanbevolen wordt om bij onweer met bliksem de stekker van de digitale satellietontvanger uit het
stopcontact te halen.
• U dient de voedingskabel te vervangen als deze beschadigd is. Neem altijd contact op met
vakbekwame centra.
• Bescherm de digitale satellietontvanger tegen regen en vocht om brand of elektrische schokken te
voorkomen.
• Plaats de digitale satellietontvanger op een stevige ondergrond. Sluit de ventilatieopeningen niet af
met voorwerpen zoals kranten, tafelkleden, gordijnen, etc.
• Plaats de digitale satellietontvanger niet in de buurt van warmtebronnen zoals radiatoren, kachels
of andere apparaten die warmte afgeven. Zet de digitale satellietontvanger niet in de volle zon.
• Zorg ervoor dat er rond de digitale satellietontvanger een vrije ruimte van ongeveer 5 cm
blijft bestaan, zodat de lucht er ongehinderd omheen kan circuleren en oververhitting wordt
voorkomen.
• Hou de hoofdaansluiting aan de achterkant van het apparaat vrij toegankelijk, voor het geval het
apparaat snel moet worden uitgeschakeld.
• Zet geen brandbare voorwerpen (kaarsen, etc.) op de digitale satellietontvanger.
• Plaats geen voorwerpen met een vloeistof, zoals vazen, etc, op het apparaat. De digitale
satellietontvanger mag niet worden blootgesteld aan druppels of spetters. Gebeurt dit toch, haal
dan de stekker van de digitale satellietontvanger uit het stopcontact en raadpleeg uw verkoper.

3.1
HDMI/SCART-aansluiting

Open de batterijbehuizing.
Plaats de twee meegeleverde batterijen in de
behuizing conform de aanwijzingen (+/-).
Sluit de batterijbehuizing.
Opmerking
Richt de afstandsbediening rechtstreeks op de
afstandssensor op het voorpaneel en selecteer
de gewenste functie.
Pas op
Haal geen batterijen door elkaar en laat ze niet
lange tijd in de afstandsbediening zitten zonder
deze te gebruiken.
Doe batterijen niet bij uw huisvuil maar lever
ze in bij een speciaal inzamelpunt. Gooi geen
batterijen in het vuur.
3.2
Aansluiten
Gevaarlijk
Risico voor elektrische schokken!
Zorg dat alle apparaten van de netvoeding
losgekoppeld zijn voordat u aansluitingen
doorvoert.
Sluit de satellietantennekabel aan vanuit de
LNB naar de SAT IN-aansluiting aan de
achterkant van de digitale satellietontvanger.
Sluit de bijgeleverde HDMI-kabel aan op
de HDMI-ingang van het televisietoestel
en op de HDMI-aansluiting van de
satellietontvanger.
De bijgeleverde SCART-kabel dient te
worden aangesloten op de SCART-ingang
van het televisietoestel en op de Tv-SCARTaansluiting van de satellietontvanger.
Sluit uw digitale satellietontvanger op
de netvoeding aan door middel van de
bijgeleverde voedingskabel.
Opmerkingen
• Wanneer u uw digitale satellietontvanger
op de netvoeding heeft aangesloten, dient
u een paar seconden te wachten zodat het
apparaat naar stand-by kan schakelen.
• Om via een HDMI-aansluiting digitale
televisie te kunnen bekijken, dient u op
uw televisie de bron te selecteren die
overeenkomt met de HDMI-ingang. Kijk
hiervoor in de gebruikershandleiding van
uw televisie.
• De SCART-kabel dient aangesloten te zijn
om teletekst te kunnen ontvangen.

3.3
Smartcard invoeren
Kies de gewenste taal door op de
pijltjestoetsen of , te drukken en
druk dan op de knop OK. De digitale
satellietontvanger controleert automatisch
de signaalkwaliteit.
De smartcard voert u zo in:
• Open het smartcard-klep aan de
rechterkant van het voorpaneel.
• Druk de smartcard zo diep mogelijk in de
sleuf. De rand van de kaart blijft zichtbaar.
Waarschuwing
Voer de smartcard in met de chip naar onderen.
3.4
Installeren
Schakel de ontvanger aan door op de stand-byknop van de afstandsbediening of het voorpaneel
te drukken.
De ontvanger staat aan: de led is groen.
De ontvanger staat in de stand-bystand: de led
is rood.
Tijdens een software-update: de led knippert.
Opmerking
In het geval van een slechte signaalkwaliteit zult
u gevraagd worden om uw kabelaansluitingen
te controleren. Indien het probleem zich
blijft voordoen, nem dan contact op met uw
satellietinstallateur of wijzig de signaalinstellingen.
Hiertoe selecteert u Uitgebreide
signaalinstellingen en drukt u vervolgens op
OK.
Als de signaalkwaliteit goed is, wordt het scherm

Uw digitale
satellietontvanger
gebruiken
Wanneer u uw digitale satellietontvanger
aangesloten heeft, kunt u de afstandsbediening
gebruiken om de meest gebruikte basisfuncties
te bedienen, zoals het aan- en uitzetten van de
ontvanger, het van zender veranderen en het
aanpassen van het volume.
4.1
Wanneer het zoeken voltooid is, zal op het
scherm een lijst van gevonden zenders worden
getoond. U kunt nu genieten van het gebruik van
uw digitale satellietontvanger.
Televisiekijken
Digitale satellietontvanger aanzetten
Om uw digitale satellietontvanger aan te zetten
vanuit stand-by, drukt u op de stand-by-knop van
het voorpaneel of de afstandsbediening.
Opmerking
Gebruikt u uw satellietontvanger niet, zet deze
dan op stand-by en bespaar energie.
Gebruikt u uw satellietontvanger voor lange
tijd niet, trek dan de voedingskabel uit het
stopcontact en bespaar nog meer energie.
Zenderkeuze
Om van zender te veranderen, gebruikt
u CH+/CH- of de cijfertoetsen van de
afstandsbediening.
Selecteer de zender die u wilt kijken door
middel van de pijltjestoetsen of , of de
cijfertoetsen van de afstandsbediening.

Volumebediening
Om het geluidsniveau hoger of lager te zetten,
gebruikt u de volumeknoppen VOL +/-. De
wijziging in volume wordt op het scherm
weergegeven aan de hand van een staafdiagram.
Druk op de knop om het geluid uit (mute) of weer
aan te zetten. Het icoon in de linkerbovenhoek van
het scherm geeft ‘audio mute’ (‘geluid uit’) aan.
Dit icoon verdwijnt na een paar seconden.
Opmerking
Het geluidsniveau kan ook worden aangepast
via uw televisietoestel. Gebruik hiervoor de
afstandsbediening van uw televisie.

Informatiebalk tonen
Wanneer u van zender verandert, wordt de
informatiebalk getoond. Om de balk op een
willekeurig moment te bekijken, drukt u op
INFO. Om de balk te verlaten, drukt u op
EXIT.

Links van de balk ziet u de lijst met actieve
zenders (Tv- / Radio- / Favorietenlijst). De

Zo wijzigt u de lijst met actieve zenders:

overzicht van de beschikbare lijsten te laten
verschijnen.
Druk op de pijltjestoetsen / om de
gewenste zenderlijst te selecteren.
Druk op OK.
Programma-informatie
Kies uit de lijst actieve zenders de gewenste
zender door middel van de pijltjestoetsen
of .
Druk op de pijltjestoets voor een korte
beschrijving van het huidige programma voor
de gekozen zender (huidige programma).
Kies uit de zenderlijst de gewenste zender
door middel van de pijltjestoetsen of .
Druk op pijltjestoets . Huidige
programma wordt geselecteerd.
Druk op OK.
Gebruik de pijltjestoets om naar Taal en
ondertiteling wijzigen, te gaan en druk op
OK.
Gebruik de pijltjestoetsen om de gewenste
taal en ondertiteling te selecteren.
Opmerkingen
• De beschikbare opties zijn afhankelijk van
het uitgezonden programma.
• U kunt instellen hoe lang de informatiebalk
wordt getoond. Kijk hiervoor in het
hoofdstuk Tv-scherm.

Druk op de knop MENU om naar het
hoofdmenu te gaan.
Druk op OK om het menu Instellingen te
openen. Het menu-onderdeel Favorieten
wordt standaard geselecteerd.
Opmerkingen
• Bij het allereerste gebruik of wanneer u
geen favorietenlijst heeft samengesteld,
zal alleen de optie Nieuwe lijst maken
verschijnen.
• Zie hoofdstuk televisiekijken voor
het bekijken van een zender uit uw
favorietenlijst.

Kinderslot
In dit menu kunt u specifieke zenders of
programma’s beveiligen met een code
(Kinderslot). Deze programma’s worden
beschermd met een PIN-code. U kunt deze
alleen bekijken na invoering van de juiste PINcode.
Er zijn vier opties beschikbaar:
• Favorieten
• Kinderslot
• Tv-scherm
• Satellietontvanger
Klik op de gewenste opties door middel van
de pijltjestoetsen / .
bevestigen.
Druk op de knop MENU en druk dan op
OK.
Selecteer Kinderslot.
Druk op de knop OK.
Voer de PIN-code in (dit is standaard 0000).
Druk op de knop OK.
4.3
Favorieten
Met deze optie kunt u uw favorietenlijst
samenstellen. Een favorietenlijst bevat alle
zenders die u graag bekijkt.
OK. Het menu-onderdeel Favorieten
wordt geselecteerd.
Druk op de knop OK.
Er zijn nu twee opties beschikbaar:
• Bestaande favorietenlijst (indien
aangemaakt).
• Nieuwe lijst maken

• Kinderslot
• PIN-code wijzigen
Opmerking
De optie Leeftijdsblokkering is een toekomstige
optie en zal in latere software update
toegevoegd worden aan dit menu.

Via de tv heeft u toegang tot teletekst. Kijk
hiervoor in de gebruikershandleiding van uw
televisie.
Opmerking
Om teletekst te kunnen kijken, dient u de
televisiebron te selecteren die overeenkomt met
de SCART-verbinding.
4.6
Satellietontvanger
Met deze optie kunt u technische informatie
bekijken en programma’s en software installeren.
De toegang tot deze optie wordt beschermd
door een Master-PIN-code (1234).

Favorieten
OK. Het menu-onderdeel Favorieten
wordt standaard geselecteerd.
Druk op de knop OK.
Er zijn nu twee opties beschikbaar:
• Bestaande favorietenlijst (indien
aangemaakt).
• Nieuwe lijst maken.
Voer een naam in door middel van de
pijltjestoetsen / / / en druk op de
knop OK.
Wanneer u de naam heeft ingevoerd, drukt u
◄ in totdat u de naam geselecteerd heeft.
Druk op de knop OK.
Opmerkingen
• U kunt maximaal 5 favorietenlijsten
samenstellen.
• De naam voor de favorietenlijst is beperkt
tot 6 karakters.
• Zie hoofdstuk Televisiekijken (zenderlijst)
voor het bekijken van een zender uit uw
favorietenlijst.
Tip
Om een naam aan uw favorietenlijst te
geven, kunt u ook de cijfertoetsen van uw
afstandsbediening gebruiken.
Opmerking
Bij het allereerste gebruik of wanneer u geen
favorietenlijst heeft samengesteld, zal alleen de
optie Nieuwe lijst maken verschijnen.
Een favorietenlijst samenstellen
Klik op Nieuwe lijst maken en druk dan
op OK om een nieuwe favorietenlijst samen
te stellen. Op het scherm verschijnt een
virtueel toetsenbord.
Een zender aan uw favorietenlijst
toevoegen
Gebruik de pijltjestoetsen of om de naam
van de gewenste favorietenlijst te kiezen. Alle
bestaande zenders komen in beeld.
Druk op om naar de zenderlijst te gaan.
Gebruik de pijltjestoetsen of om de
gewenste zender te selecteren.
Druk op de knop OK om de geselecteerde
zender aan uw favorietenlijst toe te voegen.
Wanneer u gereed bent, drukt u op .
Een zender uit uw favorietenlijst
verwijderen
Selecteer de naam van de favorietenlijst en
druk dan op OK.
Druk op .
Selecteer de zender die u wilt verwijderen
Druk op de knop OK.
Selecteer het virtueel toetsenbord door op
de pijltjestoets te drukken .
Opmerkingen
• De zenderlijst wordt op nummer
gesorteerd.
• Om terug te gaan naar Instellingen, kunt
u de pijltjestoets gebruiken .

door iedereen worden bekeken.

Selecteer op Kinderslot.
Druk op de knop OK.
Voer de PIN-code in (dit is standaard 0000).
Druk op de knop OK. Het kinderslot
wordt geselecteerd.
Om een geblokkeerde zender te bekijken, dient u:

U kunt alle instellingen gemakkelijk terugzetten
naar de fabrieksinstellingen. Alle door u
veranderde instellingen worden dan teruggezet
naar de standaardinstellingen zoals bij de eerste
installatie.
Alle favorietenlijsten zullen bijvoorbeeld worden
verwijderd.
Opmerkingen
• Indien u over een SCART-aansluiting
beschikt, is de HD-audio niet beschikbaar.
• HD-audio is nuttig wanneer u beschikt
over een HDMI-aansluiting op uw
televisietoestel en een SPDIF-aansluiting op
uw geluidsapparatuur.
Bevestig de fabrieksinstellingen door middel
van de pijltjestoetsen.
HD Audio
Met deze optie kan de SPDIF-audio worden
gesynchroniseerd met de HDMI-video.

Onderhoud
6.1
Schoonmaken
Gebruik voor het schoonmaken een zachte,
vochtige doek (geen natte doek). Gebruik nooit
schuurlinnen of spuitbussen.
6.2
Vervanging
De digitale satellietontvanger bevat geen
onderdelen waarop de gebruiker onderhoud
dient te plegen. Probeer de satellietontvanger
niet te openen. Alle onderhoudswerkzaamheden
dienen door vakbekwame servicecentra te
worden uitgevoerd.
6.3
Verwijdering
Uw product is vervaardigd uit materiaal
en onderdelen van hoge kwaliteit, die voor
hergebruik kunnen worden gerecycled.
Informeer naar de gescheiden inzameling van
elektrische en elektronische apparaten bij u in
de buurt.
Neem de lokale regelgeving in acht en plaats uw
oude apparaten niet bij het gewone huisvuil. Een
juiste verwijdering van uw oude product helpt
mogelijke negatieve gevolgen voor het milieu en
de volksgezondheid te voorkomen.

Sluit een SCART-kabel aan op de AUX-SCARTaansluiting aan de achterkant van de digitale
satellietontvanger en op SCART-ingang EXT1
van de recorder.
Waarschuwing
Om digitale televisie te kunnen opnemen,
dient u ervoor te zorgen dat de digitale
satellietontvanger aan staat.
Optie A – Optische digitale aansluiting
Uw geluidsapparatuur is voorzien van een
optische digitale geluidsingang:
Sluit de ♫ OPT-geluidsuitgang van de digitale
satellietontvanger aan op de desbetreffende
geluidsingang van uw geluidsapparatuur
door middel van een optische kabel (niet
meegeleverd).
Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van
uw geluidsapparatuur om de juiste digitale
geluidsuitgang te kiezen.
Optie B – Elektrische digitale aansluiting
Sluit de SPDIF-uitgang van de digitale
satellietontvanger aan op de desbetreffende
ingang van uw geluidsapparatuur door middel
van een enkele CINCH-kabel (niet meegeleverd).
Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van
uw geluidsapparatuur om de juiste digitale
geluidsingang te kiezen.

Veelgestelde vragen
Dit hoofdstuk beschrijft de meest gestelde
vragen en antwoorden over uw digitale
satellietontvanger.
Aansluiting
Het decodermenu is zichtbaar op het
scherm maar er is geen ontvangst.
Controleer de installatie.
Beeld vertoont blokvorming
Controleer uw schotelinstallatie en wees
verzekerd van een optimaal signaal.
Het beeld is niet scherp en de tekst op het
scherm is moeilijk leesbaar
• Raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding van uw
televisie.
• Gebruik de SCART-kabel die is meegeleverd
met de digitale satellietontvanger.
Opbouw
De led op het voorpaneel licht niet op.
• Controleer of de stekker goed in het
stopcontact zit. Haal deze stekker eruit en
steek hem er weer in om er zeker van te
zijn dat hij op de goede plek zit.
• Controleer of er wel spanning staat op het
stopcontact.
Het lukt niet om met de
afstandsbediening de digitale
satellietontvanger te bedienen
• Zorg dat de digitale satellietontvanger aan
staat.
• Zorg ervoor dat u uw afstandsbediening
op het voorpaneel van de digitale
satellietontvanger richt.
• Controleer de batterijen in uw
afstandsbediening.
U kunt niet alle zenders vinden die
volgens u beschikbaar zouden moeten zijn.
Probeer de digitale satellietontvanger opnieuw
in te stellen door de desbetreffende stappen uit
het hoofdstuk Installeren te volgen.
Veelgestelde vragen
Als u nog steeds zenders mist, neem dan contact
op met uw satellietprovider.
Sommige TV- en/of radiostations kunnen
soms niet ontvangen worden.
Deze diensten worden niet 24 uur per dag
uitgezonden en kunnen soms niet beschikbaar
zijn. Het is ook mogelijk dat u geen abonnement
heeft op een zender waardoor u geen ontvangst
heeft. Dit is geen storing.
Installatie
Er is geen geluid of beeld maar de led in
het voorpaneel is groen verlicht.
• Controleer de aansluitingen in het
stopcontact en de digitale satellietontvanger.
• Druk een of twee keer op de stand-by-knop
op de afstandsbediening.
• Controleer de SCART en/of HDMIaansluitingen.
Het beeld lijkt bij sommige zenders
uitgerekt of ingedrukt.
Controleer de instelling Tv-formaat van uw
digitale satellietontvanger. Als u beschikt over
een breedbeeldtelevisie, dient u wellicht ook
de instellingen van uw televisie te controleren.
Omdat het beeldformaat wordt beheerd door
de digitale satellietontvanger, dient u uw televisie
op “vol formaat” of een vergelijkbare instelling
in te stellen (raadpleeg de gebruikershandleiding
van uw televisietoestel).
PIN-code
U bent uw PIN-code kwijt.
Voer een reset naar de fabrieksinstellingen
uit om de PIN-code terug te zetten op de
standaardwaarde.
Opmerking
Als geen van de bovengenoemde
aanbevelingen lijkt te werken, probeer dan uw
satellietontvanger uit en weer aan te zetten
(stekker uit stopcontact trekken). Probeer nooit
uw satellietontvanger zelf te repareren.

Woordenlijst
Analoge audio
Geluid dat niet numeriek is omgezet. Analoog
geluid is beschikbaar vanuit de LINKS/RECHTS
geluidsuitgangen. De rode en witte aansluitingen
sturen geluid door twee kanalen, links en rechts.
Decoderen/coderen
Veel televisiezenders zijn gecodeerd.Voor het
decoderen heeft u speciale smartcards nodig
die door de verschillende aanbieders van
betaaltelevisie worden geleverd.
Digitale audio
Geluidssignaal dat in numerieke waarden is
omgezet. Digitaal geluid is beschikbaar wanneer
u de DIGITALE AUDIO OUT COAXIAL
gebruikt. Deze aansluiting stuurt geluid via
meerdere kanalen, in plaats van slechts twee
zoals bij analoge audio.
Dolby Digitaal
Een surround-geluidssysteem dat is ontwikkeld
door Dolby Laboratories en dat maximaal zes
kanalen met digitale audio bevat (links en rechts
vooraan, surround links en rechts, midden en
subwoofer).
DVB
Digital Video Broadcasting (digitale videouitzending)
HDMI
De ‘High-Definition Multimedia Interface’ is
een audio/video-aansluitingsinterface onder
vergunning voor het overbrengen van HDTVstreams.
Lengte-hoogteverhouding
Dit betreft de lengte-hoogteverhouding van
televisieschermen. De verhouding van een
standaardtelevisie is 4:3, terwijl de verhouding
van een HD- of breedbeeldtelevisie 16:9 is.
Met dit breedschermformaat kunt u op een
standaardscherm van 4:3 naar een beeld kijken
met breder perspectief.
PIN-Code
Een viercijferige code die gebruikt wordt
om de toegang tot bepaalde programma’s te
voorkomen (kinderslot).
SCART Loop-through
Functie t.b.v. een automatische signaal-bypass
voor het bekijken van een VCR- of DVD-speler/
recorder, aangesloten op SCART EXT2.
SDTV
Standard Definition Television (standaard
televisiesignaal).
Smartcard
Kaart die in de ontvanger moet worden
gestoken. Deze wordt geleverd door de
aanbieder van betaaltelevisie waar u een
abonnement heeft genomen.
HDTV
High Definition Television is een digitaal televisieuitzendsysteem met een hogere resolutie dan
die van conventionele televisiesystemen

Important
Danger
• Le décodeur satellite numérique ne contient aucun composant dont l’utilisateur pourrait assurer
seul la maintenance. N’essayez pas de l’ouvrir. Toute opération de maintenance doit être effectuée
par des services qualifiés.
• Veillez à ce que les enfants ne placent aucun corps étranger dans les ouvertures.
Attention
• Avant de brancher le décodeur sur le secteur, vérifiez que la tension corresponde à celle indiquée
à l’arrière du décodeur. Si la tension du secteur est différente de celle du décodeur, consultez
votre revendeur.
• Si vous débranchez le décodeur du secteur, veillez à le déconnecter de la prise murale et non
uniquement de la prise de courant alternatif située à l’arrière de l’appareil. Le câble restant sous
tension, les enfants peuvent se blesser avec l’extrémité libre.
• Il est recommandé de débrancher le décodeur en cas d’orage.
• Si le cordon d’alimentation est endommagé, il doit être remplacé. Consultez systématiquement un
centre qualifié.
• Pour prévenir tout risque d’incendie ou d’électrocution, n’exposez pas le décodeur aux
intempéries ou à l‘humidité.
• Le décodeur satellite numérique doit être installé sur une surface stable et les ouïes d’aération
ne doivent pas être obstruées par des objets tels que des journaux, une nappe ou des rideaux par
exemple.
• N’installez pas le décodeur à proximité d’une source de chaleur telle qu’un radiateur, un fourneau
ou tout autre appareil dégageant de la chaleur. Protégez-le de l’ensoleillement direct.
• Lors de l’installation du décodeur, veillez à laisser un espace d’environ 5 cm autour de l’appareil
afin de permettre à l’air de circuler librement et empêcher ainsi tout phénomène de surchauffe.
• Veillez à ce que la prise située à l’arrière de l’appareil reste accessible dans l’éventualité où un
arrêt d’urgence serait nécessaire.
• Ne placez aucun objet inflammable sur le décodeur (bougies, ect).
• Aucun objet contenant un liquide (comme un vase par exemple) ne doit être placé sur l’appareil.
Le décodeur ne doit jamais être mouillé ou éclaboussé. Si tel était le cas, débranchez votre
décodeur et consultez votre revendeur.

Préparer la télécommande
Retirez le couvercle du compartiment à piles.
Insérez les deux piles fournies selon les
indications (+/-) situées à l’intérieur du
compartiment.
Fermez le compartiment à piles.
Remarque
Dirigez la télécommande directement vers
le capteur situé sur le panneau avant et
sélectionnez la fonction souhaitée.
Avertissement
Ne mélangez pas les piles et ne les laissez pas de
manière prolongée dans la télécommande sans
l’utiliser.
Les piles ne doivent pas être jetées à la poubelle
avec vos déchets ménagers mais doivent être
remises à un point de collecte de piles usagées.
Ne les jetez pas au feu.
3.2
Branchez le câble de l’antenne satellite
murale à la prise SAT IN située à l’arrière
de votre décodeur satellite numérique.
Branchez le câble HDMI fourni à l’entrée
HDMI de votre téléviseur et à la prise
HDMI située à l’arrière de votre décodeur.
Branchez le câble péritel fourni à l’entrée
péritel de votre téléviseur et à la prise
péritel TV située à l’arrière de votre
décodeur.
Raccordez votre décodeur satellite
numérique au secteur à l’aide du cordon
d’alimentation fourni.
Remarques
• Une fois votre décodeur branché sur le
secteur, attendez quelques secondes pour
que l’appareil passe en mode veille.
• Pour regarder la télévision avec une
connexion HDMI, allumez votre téléviseur
sur la source correspondant à l’entrée
HDMI. Consultez le mode d’emploi de
votre téléviseur.

Insérer la carte à puce
Pour insérer la carte à puce :
• Ouvrez le compartiment à carte à puce
situé sur le côté droit du panneau avant.
• Insérez au maximum la carte dans son
emplacement. L’extrémité de la carte dépasse
de son emplacement.
Lors de la première installation, l’écran Choix
du langage apparaît:
Sélectionnez la langue souhaitée en utilisant
les touches ou , puis appuyez sur la
touche OK. Le décodeur satellite numérique
vérifie automatiquement la qualité du signal.
Mise en garde
Insérez la carte en prenant soin d’orienter la
puce vers le bas.

Installer
Allumez votre décodeur en appuyant sur se
trouvant sur la télécommande ou sur le panneau
avant.
Le décodeur est en marche :
la LED est verte.
Le décodeur se trouve en mode veille :
la LED est rouge.
Pendant une mise à jour du logiciel :
la LED clignote.

En cas de signal faible, vous serez invité à vérifier
vos branchements. Si le problème persiste,

Utilisation de votre

Une fois votre décodeur satellite numérique
branché, utilisez la télécommande pour activer
les fonctions de base les plus fréquemment
utilisées, comme la mise sous et hors tension, le
changement des chaînes et le réglage du volume.
4.1
Regarder la télévision
Réveil de votre décodeur satellite
numérique
Pour « réveiller » votre décodeur satellite
numérique et le sortir du mode veille, appuyez
sur du panneau avant ou de la télécommande.
Remarque
Afin de réduire la consommation d’énergie, il est
recommandé de mettre votre décodeur en veille
entre deux utilisations.
Pour optimiser les économies d’énergie, nous
vous recommandons d’éteindre le décodeur en
débranchant le cordon d’alimentation si vous ne
l’utilisez pas pendant une période prolongée.
Affichage du bandeau d’information
Le bandeau d’information est affiché à chaque
changement de chaîne. Pour afficher à tout
moment le bandeau, appuyez sur INFO. Pour le
fermer, appuyez sur EXIT.
Sur le bord gauche du bandeau, vous pouvez voir
la liste de chaînes active (TV / Radio / listes de
favoris). La chaîne en cours est en surbrillance.

Pour changer la liste de chaînes active:
Appuyez sur la touche ◄ pour afficher sur
la gauche la liste de chaînes disponible.

Le volume sonore est commandé depuis votre

Le décodeur satellite numérique ne contient
aucun composant dont l’utilisateur pourrait
assurer seul la maintenance. N’essayez pas de
l’ouvrir. Toute opération de maintenance doit
être effectuée par un centre qualifié.

matériaux et des composants de haute qualité
qui peuvent être recyclés et réutilisés.

Ce chapitre offre des réponses aux questions
les plus fréquentes concernant votre décodeur
satellite numérique.
Si vous ne parvenez toujours pas à accéder à
certaines chaînes, appelez votre conseiller client.
De temps en temps, la réception de
certaines stations de radio est impossible.
Ces programmes ne sont pas transmis 24 heures
par jour et ne sont donc parfois pas disponibles.
Ceci n’est pas un défaut.
Connexion
L’affichage à l’écran fonctionne mais il n’y
a aucune réception
Vérifiez l’installation

Vérifiez tous les branchements et câbles.
L’image n’est pas nette et le texte à

Le voyant du panneau avant ne s’allume
pas.
• Vérifiez que le cordon d’alimentation est
correctement branché. Débranchez ce
cordon et rebranchez-le pour vous assurer
qu’il est bien en place.
• Vérifiez le bon fonctionnement de la prise
murale
Installation
Pas de son ni d’image mais le voyant du
panneau avant s’allume en vert.
• Vérifiez les branchements à la prise murale
et sur le décodeur.
• Appuyez une ou deux fois sur la touche
marche/arrêt de la télécommande
• Vérifiez les branchements péritel/HDMI.
Sur certaines chaînes, l’image semble
avoir été étirée ou écrasée.
Vérifiez le réglage de l’option « format de
l’écran » du décodeur. Il peut également être
nécessaire de vérifier les réglages de votre
téléviseur s’il s’agit d’un modèle 16/9. Le format
d’affichage étant géré par le décodeur satellite
numérique, réglez votre téléviseur sur « plein
écran » ou sur un réglage identique (consultez le
mode d’emploi de votre téléviseur).
Code PIN
La télécommande ne fonctionne pas avec
le décodeur satellite numérique
• Assurez-vous que le décodeur est allumé
• Assurez-vous que vous pointez bien la
télécommande vers le panneau avant du
décodeur
• Vérifiez les piles de votre télécommande
Vous ne trouvez pas toutes les chaînes qui,
d’après vous, devraient être disponibles.
Procédez à un nouveau réglage du décodeur, en
respectant les étapes du chapitre Installation.
Questions fréquentes (FAQ)
Vous avez oublié votre code PIN.
Réinitialisez les paramètres initiaux afin
d’initialiser le code PIN à sa valeur par défaut.
Remarque
Si aucune des propositions faites ci-dessus ne devait
fonctionner, essayez d’arrêter et de remettre en
marche votre décodeur. Si ceci ne fonctionne pas,
adressez-vous à votre fournisseur ou à un spécialiste
en réparation qualifié. Ne tentez jamais de réparer
vous-même votre décodeur.

Glossaire
Audio analogique
Son qui n’a pas été numérisé. Un son analogique
est disponible à partir des sorties AUDIO à
gauche/à droite. Les prises rouges et blanches
envoient des sons à travers deux canaux, situés à
gauche et à droite.
Audio numérique
Signal sonore qui a été numérisé. Un son
numérique est disponible lorsque vous utilisez
UN CÂBLE COAXIAL DE SORTIE AUDIO
NUMERIQUE. Ces prises envoient des sons à
travers de multiples canaux, contrairement aux
prises analogiques qui n’en utilisent que deux.
Dolby Digital
Système audio surround conçu par les Dolby
Laboratories contenant jusqu’à six canaux de
son numérique (à gauche et à droite à l’avant,
gauche surround et droite surround, centre et
caisson de basses subwoofer).
DVB
Digital Video Broadcasting (Diffusion vidéo
numérique)
Format d’image
Le format d’image désigne le rapport entre la
longueur et la hauteur des écrans de téléviseur.
Le rapport d’un téléviseur standard est 4:3,
tandis que le rapport d’un téléviseur haute
définition ou à grand écran est 16:9. Le format
Letterbox vous permet de profiter d’images
grand format sur un écran 4:3.
Boucle PERITEL
Fonction permettant une commutation
automatique du signal pour une lecture à partir
d’un magnétoscope ou d’un lecteur/enregistreur
DVD branché à une prise péritel EXT2.
HD ready ou full HD
HD ready désigne la capacité des récepteurs de
télévision à afficher des images haute définition.
Carte à puce
Carte à insérer dans l’interface commune. Elle
est donnée par le fournisseur de télévision par
abonnement.
HDMI
L’Interface Multimédia Haute Définition (HDMI)
est une interface licenciable de connecteur
audio/vidéo permettant de transférer des flux
TVHD.
Code PIN
Code à 4 chiffres utilisé pour empêcher l’accès
à des programmes inadaptés (contrôle parental).
Le code PIN permanent doit être saisi dans le
menu du boîtier décodeur.
Décryptage/crypté
De nombreuses chaînes de télévision sont
brouillées. Pour les désembrouiller, vous avez
besoin de cartes à puce spéciales fournies
par différents fournisseurs de télévision par
abonnement.

Important
The Digital Satellite Receiver has been manufactured to meet the appropriate safety standards, but
the instructions below must be followed to operate it safely. These instructions must be kept for
future reference.
Warnings
• Before connecting the Digital Satellite Receiver to the mains, check that the mains supply voltage
corresponds to the voltage printed on the rear of the Digital Satellite Receiver. If the mains
voltage is different, consult your dealer.
• If you disconnect the Digital Satellite Receiver from the mains, make sure to unplug it from the
wall socket and not just from the AC socket at the back of the unit. Children could seriously
injure themselves, as the free end of the cable is still live.
• It is recommended to unplug the Digital Satellite Receiver from the mains during lightning storms.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced. Always refer to qualified centers.
• To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose the Digital Satellite Receiver to rain or moisture.
• The Digital Satellite Receiver should be placed on a firm surface, and the ventilation openings
must not be covered with items, such as newspapers, table clothes, curtains, etc.
• Do not install the Digital Satellite Receiver near heat sources such as radiators, stoves or other
apparatus that produce heat. Protect it from direct sunlight.
• When installing the Digital Satellite Receiver, ensure there is a gap of approximately 5 cm around
the Digital Satellite Receiver to enable air to circulate freely and prevent overheating.
• Leave accessible the mains connector at the back of the unit in case emergency shutdown is
required.
• Do not place any combustible objects on the Digital Satellite Receiver (candles, etc.).
• No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the unit. The Digital Satellite
Receiver shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Should this happen, disconnect the Digital
Satellite Receiver from the mains and consult your dealer.

Getting started
In this chapter, the basic steps to get you started
are described.
3.1
HDMI/SCART connection
Satellite Receiver
Lead from
satellite dish
Prepare the remote control
TV set
Connect the Satellite antenna cable from
the wall socket to the SAT IN socket at the
rear of the Digital Satellite Receiver.
Connect the supplied HDMI cable to the
HDMI input of the TV set and to the HDMI
socket of the Digital Satellite Receiver
Connect the supplied scart cable to the
scart input of the TV set and to the TV
scart socket at the rear of the Digital
Satellite Receiver.
Plug your Digital Satellite Receiver to the
mains using the supplied power cord.
Open the battery compartment.
Insert the two batteries supplied according
to the indications (+/-) inside the
compartment.
Close the battery compartment.
Note
Point the remote control directly at the remote
sensor on the front panel and select the desired
function.
Notes
• Once you have plugged your Digital
Satellite Receiver to the mains, wait a
few seconds for the device to switch to
Standby mode.
• To watch digital TV through an HDMI
connection, switch your TV to the source
corresponding to the HDMI input. Refer to
your TV user manual.
Caution
Do not mix batteries or keep them in the remote
control for long periods of time without use.
Batteries must not be disposed of with your
household waste but to a local separate battery
collection system.
Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.

• Open the smart card door on the right
side of the front panel.
• Insert the smart card into the smart card slot
as far as it will go.The end of the card will be
visible from outside the slot.

Selection screen appears:

In case of a poor signal quality, you will be
prompted to check your cable connections. If
the problem persists, call CanalDigitaal Technical
Support or modify the signal parameters. To do
so, highlight Advanced Signal Parameters,
and then press OK.
If the signal quality is good, the First Installation
window is displayed:
Select the desired language by pressing the
arrow keys or , and then press the OK
key. The Digital Satellite Receiver checks
automatically the signal quality.

Using your Digital Satellite
Receiver
Once you have connected your Digital Satellite
Receiver, use the remote control to operate
the basic, frequently-used functions, such as
switching on and off, changing channels and
altering the volume.
Watching TV
Digital Satellite Receiver wake-up
To wake up your Digital Satellite Receiver from
standby, press on the front panel or remote
control.
Once the scanning is over, the list of channels
which have been found will appear on screen.
You can now enjoy using your Digital Satellite
Receiver.
Note
In order to reduce power consumption, switch
your Digital Satellite Receiver to standby mode
whenever you are not using it.
For maximum energy saving we recommend you
to switch off the Digital Satellite Receiver by
unplugging the power cord if you are not using it
for a long time.
Channel selection
To change channels, use CH+/CH- or the
numerical keys of the remote control.
Select the channel you want to see with the
arrow keys or , or the numerical keys of
the remote control.
Volume Control
To decrease or increase the volume level, use the
volume keys VOL +/-. A change of volume is
shown on-screen using a bar graph.
To mute or restore the sound, press the
key.
The
icon in the top left corner of the screen
indicates audio mute. This icon disappears after a
few seconds.
Note
The volume level is controlled from your TV set.
It can also be controlled using your TV remote
control.

4.1
Displaying information banner
Every time you change channels, the information
banner is displayed. To display the banner
anytime, press INFO. To exit it, press EXIT.
From the active channel list, select the
desired channel using the arrow keys or .
Press the arrow key . Current Event is
highlighted.
Press OK.
Use the arrow key to move to Change
Language and Subtitles, and press OK.
Use the navigation keys to select the desired
language and subtitle.
On the left hand side of the banner, you can see
the active channel list (TV / Radio / Favorite
lists). The current channel is highlighted.
Channel lists
To change the active channel list:
Press the arrow key ◄ to display the
available channel list on the left.
Press the arrow keys / to select the
desired channel list.
Press OK.
Program information
From the active channel list, select the
desired channel using the arrow keys or .
Press the arrow key to have a short
description of the current program for the
selected channel (Current event).
Press the arrow key again to have a short
description of the next program for the
selected channel (Next event).
Language and subtitle
Notes
• The available options depend on the
broadcast program.
• You can define the display time of the
information banner. To do so, see the TV
Display chapter.
4.2
Settings
Press the MENU key to access the main
menu.
Press OK to open the Settings menu. The
menu item Favorite lists is highlighted by
default.
Four options are available:
• Favorite Lists
• Parental Control
• TV Display
• Set-top Box
Highlight the desired options using the
arrow keys / .
4.3
Favorites
This setting allows you to create favorite lists.
A favorite list contains all the channels you like
the most.

• Existing favorite channels list.

Parental Control
Select this option to keep children from
watching inappropriate channels. These channels
are PIN protected.You could only watch them
after entering the right PIN Code.
Highlight Parental Control.
Press the OK key.
Enter the PIN Code (by default 0000).
Press the OK key.
Five options are available:
• On Screen language
• Preferred Audio language
• Preferred Subtitle language
• Banner Duration

Set-top Box
This option allows you to view technical

PIN Code (1234).

This option allows you to define some TV

Favorites
The menu item Favorite Lists is highlighted
by default.
Press the OK key.
Two options are now available:
• Existing favorite channels list.
• New favorite.
Note
At the first use or if you did not create any
favorite list, only the option New favorite will be
displayed.
Create a Favorite list
Highlight New favorite and then press
OK to create a new Favorite List. A virtual
keyboard opens on screen.
Notes
• You can create up to 5 favorite lists.
• The favorite list name is limited to 6
characters.
• To view a channel from your favorite list,
refer to chapter Watching live TV (Channel
lists).
Tip
To name your favorite list, you may also use the
numerical keys of the remote control.
Add a channel to a Favorite list
Use the arrow keys or to choose the
desired favorite list’s name. All the existing
channels appear.
Press to go to the channel list.
Use the arrow keys or to highlight the
desired channel.
Press the OK key to add the selected
channel to your favorite list.
When you are finished, press .
Remove a channel from a Favorite list
Select the favorite list’s name and then press
OK.
Press .
Select the channel you want to remove with
the arrow keys or .
Press the OK key.
Notes
• The channel list is sorted by number.
• To go back to the Settings Menu, you can
use the arrow key .
Select the virtual keyboard by pressing .
Enter a name using the arrow keys / /

When you are finished typing your name,
press repeatedly until you highlight the
name.
Press the OK key.

Delete a Favorite list
Select the Favorite list’s name and then press
OK.
Select Delete with the arrow keys or .
Press the OK key.
Rename a favorite list
Select the Favorite list’s name and then press
OK.
Select Rename with the arrow keys or .
Press the OK key.
Proceed as indicated in Create a Favorite
list.
The channel will be locked. Each time you will
select it, a padlock will appear.
Note
It is not possible to indicate a channel number
using the Remote control. Only the arrow keys
or may be used here.
Parental Control
Note
By default no channel is locked. So, all channels
installed on your Digital Satellite Receiver can be
watched by anyone.
Set Parental Lock on a channel
Highlight Parental Control.
Press the OK key.
Enter the PIN Code (by default 0000).
Press the OK key. Parental Lock is
highlighted.
Press the OK key. The list of channels
appears.
Select a channel using the arrow keys or
To lock the highlighted channel, press the
OK key.
To watch a locked channel:
Access the contextual menu in the banner
using the arrows or .
Press the OK key.
Enter the Parental PIN Code.

Change PIN Code
Highlight Change PIN Code.
Press the OK key.
Enter the Current PIN code. If you have
never changed it, its default value is 0000.
Enter the New PIN code.

This option allows you to define TV settings.

This option gives technical information on your
Digital Satellite Receiver (Set-top Box versions,
Signal, Smart Card).
Advanced Parameters
If you have a HDMI connection, four options are
available.
Manual scanning
Highlight Advanced Parameters and then
press OK. Manual Scanning is highlighted.
Press the OK key.
Press the OK key again to start the scanning.
The same operations will have to be done as
during the first installation. For more details, see
chapter Install.
HD Audio
This option allows to synchronize the SPDIF
audio sound to the HDMI video.
Highlight this option with the arrow keys

Factory Reset
You can reset the device to default settings.Your
Digital Satellite Receiver will have all its settings
initialized like they were at first installation.
For example, all the favorite lists created will be
deleted.

Notes
• If you have a Scart connection, HD audio is
not available.
• HD audio is useful if you have an HDMI
connection to your TV set and an SPDIF
connection to your audio equipment.
Confirm the factory reset using the

Replacement
The Digital Satellite Receiver does not contain
any user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to
open it. All maintenance work must be carried
out by qualified service centers.

Disposal
Your product is designed and manufactured
with high quality materials and components,
which can be recycled and reused.
Please inform yourself about the local separate
collection process for electrical and electronic
products.
Please act according to your local rules and
do not dispose of your old products with your
normal household waste. The correct disposal

Digital Audio equipment
Connect the supplied scart cable to the AUX
scart socket at the rear of the Digital Satellite
Receiver and to the scart input EXT1 of the
recorder.
Warning
To be able to record digital television, you must
make sure the Digital Satellite Receiver is on.
Option A – Optical digital connection
Your audio equipment is fitted with an optical
digital audio input:
Connect the ♫ OPT audio output of the Digital
Satellite Receiver to the relevant audio input of
your audio equipment using an optical cable (not
supplied).
Consult the user manual of your audio
equipment to choose the proper digital audio
input.
Option B – Electrical digital connection
Connect the SPDIF output of the Digital
Satellite Receiver to the relevant input of your
audio equipment using a single CINCH cable
(not supplied).

Some radio stations cannot be received
from time to time
These services are not transmitted 24 hours
a day and can sometimes be unavailable. This
is not a fault.

The picture on some channels seems to
have been stretched or squashed.
Check the Digital Satellite Receiver TV shape
setting. If you have a wide screen TV, you may
also need to check the settings on your TV.
The display format being managed by the
Digital Satellite Receiver, set your TV to “full
screen” or to the similar equivalent setting
(refer to the user manual of your TV set).
PIN Code
You lost your PIN Code.
Proceed to a factory reset in order to
initialize the PIN Code to its default value.
Note
If none of the above suggestions seems to
work, try switching your Set Top Box off and
then on again. If this does not work, contact
either your supplier or a qualified repair
technician. Never attempt to repair your Set
Top Box yourself.

Glossary
Analogue audio
Sound that has not been turned into numbers.
Analogue sound is available from the LEFT/
RIGHT AUDIO outputs. The red and white
sockets send audio through two channels, the
left and right.
Aspect ratio
Aspect ratio refers to the length to height ratio
of TV screens. The ratio of a standard TV is 4:3,
while the ratio of a high-definition or wide TV is
16:9. The letterbox format allows you to enjoy a
picture with a wider perspective on a standard
4:3 screen.
De-scrambling/scrambled
Many TV channels are scrambled. To de-scramble
them you need specific smart cards provided by
different pay-TV providers.
HDTV
High-definition television is a digital television
broadcasting system with greater resolution than
traditional television systems
HD ready or full HD
HD ready concerns the ability of television
receivers to display high-definition pictures.
HDMI
The High-Definition Multimedia Interface is a
licensable audio/video connector interface for
transmitting HDTV streams.
PIN Code: 4-digit code used to prevent access
to inappropriate programs (parental control).
The Master PIN Code has to be entered in the
Set-top Box menu.
Digital audio
Sound signal that has been converted into
numerical values. Digital sound is available
when you use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
COAXIAL. These sockets send audio through
multiple channels, instead of just two channels as
analogue does.
SCART Loop-through
Function allowing automatic signal by-pass for
playback from a VCR or DVD player/recorder
connected to SCART EXT2.
Dolby Digital
A surround sound system developed by Dolby
Laboratories containing up to six channels of
digital audio (front left and right, surround left
and right, center and subwoofer).
Smart Card
Card to be inserted into the Common Interface.
It is provided by the pay-TV provider whom you
took out a subscription.
SDTV
Standard Definition Television.
