This first and very successful MedTech summit aimed at bringing together Europe’s most promising MedTech companies, leading venture capitalists and senior industry professionals. The MedTech Summit aimed to assemble the ecosystem of European Medtech by bringing together the CEOs of the most promising MedTech companies, the investment professionals that finance this sector, and senior industry professionals from the global firms that drive the industry. Among the global firms represented at the Summit were Advanced Medical Optics (AMO), Boston Scientific, Edwards Lifesciences, Synthes, Zimmer, and of course Medtronic, the sponsoring partner for the event. The Summit also attracted representatives from over 30 investment firms from the United States, Europe, and Israel and generated a lot of positive interest in the media. Scott Parazynski, a medical doctor, MedTech inventor, and NASA Astronaut held the keynote address at the opening gala dinner that was staged at Château de Chillon in Montreux and demonstrated that medical technologies are vital in extreme environments such as space travel and exploration.
