Public speaking Formations Professionnalisantes PUBLIC CONCERNE: Doctorants - Toutes disciplines DUREE: 2 Jours POURQUOI CETTE FORMATION? -The way one expresses orally reveals instantly the strengths and the weaknesses of one’s thoughts, of one’s re asoning... The first contact between two people is generally oral and therefore determines largely how the relationship will develop. Most people consider speech as a natural skill: some have a natural talent which others don’t have! The way a talk is o rganized follows some rules, whose efficiency has been demonstrated. -ALM’s training courses will give you an awareness of the overall mechanisms related to oral expression. They will i mprove talk strategies (planning, introduction, development, thought, conclusion), speaking in public (voice, body language, attitude) and listening. They will offer the ability to find and adopt the appropriate attitude when speaking in public in different conditions. They will meet the needs related to oral expression in professional situations. PROGRAMME Contenu This training course is organised in two sessions and deals with all the elements to be taken into consideration in order to appear professional when speaking in public. The two sessions can be done separately; however it is advisable to do them in the presented order. 1. GETTING TO KNOW ONESELF and ONE’S IMAGE With a special focus on the speaker, this module deals with the problems of stress, personal image, self positioning…. I t establishes the trainees’ capacities to express themselves orally. - Objectives : Analysing one’s image Valuing personal skills Choosing ways of expression (words, body language, b reathing, style…) - Content : Exposing everyone to its own voice and its own imagePresenting, by the means of exercises, the coherence between bothLearning positive habitsTake one’s image into consideration 2. THE SPEAKER AND ITS AUDIENCE The second level deals more specifically with speaking in public efficiently, and with finding adequate connection between the speaker’s objectives and the effects produced upon the audience. - Objectives : Developing communication skills and capacity to speak - Content :Knowing verbal and non-verbal aspects of oral expression. Taking the audience into consideration. Becoming self-assured, strong and accurate PEDAGOGY - Individual assessment and program. - Practical exercises, in-situation: formal public speaking (communication, press conference…), institutional public s peaking (short speech, presentation...) or freer public speaking (conversation...). - Individual and group exercises: role-play games, simulation… Compétences développées Learning the mechanisms of oral expression Dealing with speech control and discourse coherence Achieving speech harmony on every occasion Feeling comfortable during interviews and confrontations Learning how to manage a discussion, handle a meeting, express an opinion, and take part in a conversation… FORMATEURS Judith Nyee-Doggen est formatrice à ALM-FORMATION (www.almformation.com,) elle enseigne la linguistique f rançaise et vise notamment l’amélioration de la compréhension et l’expression écrites. Elle a également acquis une importa nte expérience dans l’enseignement du Français Langue Étrangère (FLE), tant à l’université qu’au sein d’associations et d’organism es de formation. Suzel Girard est formatrice à ALM-FORMATION (www.almformation.com), diplômée de l'Institut de formation de For mateurs SIPCA, certifiée CAST à l'Animation et à la Prise de parole, formée au coaching (MEDIAT-COACHING) et à la PNL (LE D OJO). Sylviane Sauges est maître de conférences à l'Université de Provence, Aix-Marseille I et formatrice à ALM-FORMA TION (www.almformation.com), elle est rattachée à l’Institut des Textes et Manuscrits Modernes ITEM (CN RS/ENS). Rédactrice, auteur, elle a publié des livres pédagogiques, des essais scientifiques et des ouvrages de vul garisation grand public. Elle anime notamment des ateliers de réconciliation avec l’écriture pour tout public. Ray Horn diplômé de l'université de Yale et de l'Université Sorbonne Paris IV il est formateur à ALM-FORMA TION (www.almformation.com) et enseignant en techniques d’expression et civilisation (anglaises et franç aises) auprès de différentes universités (Sorbonne, Fundación Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho (Caracas, Venezuela), Univ ersity of South Florida (Tampa, FL, USA)). Il assure des missions de traduction, d’interprétariat et de conseil li nguistique auprès de nombreuses entreprises. Pierre Belle D’abord enseignant dans le secondaire, il a travaillé dans l’édition et a acquis une grande pratique de la comm unication professionnelle.
