Colour Management in the Digital World
Colour is an important stake in the area of image quality and therefore of upmost importance in professional

under different light conditions – all must look the same.
This is the main purpose of colour management in large, wide
format, flatbed and industrial printing and if applied in the right

importance of its invention pretty well. But did you know before the invention of paper, various cultures used
many different materials like stone, metal, wood, cloth…etc to record written information ?

The Origins of Paper
The word paper comes from the ancient Egyptian writing material called papyrus, which was woven from
papyrus plants. Papyrus was produced as early as 3000 BC in Egypt, and in ancient Greece and Rome.
Paper as we know it today comes from another source – China
It was created in China in 105 AD by Ts’ai Lun, an official of the Imperial Court using a tree bark made into a
pulp. Paper-making is considered one of their four greatest inventions.
