Je vois Infinity Doughnut comme un
imaginatif système de navigation
aveugle. Nous regardons des formes, des
lieux et des liens pour considérer la
matière inanimée et humaine. C’est une
exploration spéculative et naïve de
l'environnement.
Le spectacle Infinity Doughnut
invite les performeurs et les spectateurs à
céder à son flot, à accueillir le
changement et la spontanéité. Je propose
aux participants un état de sensibilité
ouverte aux variations d’humeur, de
configuration spatiale et
d’interprétations mouvantes.
I see Infinity Doughnut, as a blind
and imaginative system of navigation.
We look at shapes, spaces and our
interconnections to explore inanimate
and human matter. This is a speculative
and naïve survey of our surroundings.
The performance event Infinity
Doughnut - invites performers and
audience to surrender to its flow, and to
accept change and spontaneity. I hope to
foster in participants a quality of open
sensitivity to fluctuations of mood,
configurations of space, and shifting
interpretations.

Katie Ward habite et travaille à Montréal.
C’est en 2011 qu’elle fonde la Compagnie
Katie Ward. Elle présente son solo Reality à
la Casa Del Popolo à Montréal et au Fluid
Festival à Calgary. Elle a créé et présenté sa
dernière pièce, Rock Steady, à Montréal
avant de tourner à Lennoxville (Québec), à
Créteil et à Maubeuge (France), et à
Nottingham (Royaume-Uni) entre 2010 et
2012. Sa nouvelle pièce d’ensemble, Infinity
Doughnut, sera présentée en première à
l’automne 2014. Elle a bénéficié de
résidences à Dance4 au Royaume-Uni, ainsi
qu’à Créteil en France.
Katie Ward lives and works in Montreal in
2011 she founded Compagnie Katie Ward.
Most recently Katie presented her brand
new 40 minute solo – Reality at Casa Del
Popolo and at Fluid festival in Calgary. Her
last creation, Rock Steady, was created and
performed in Montreal, in France and in the
UK. She is currently working on a new
ensemble work – Infinity Doughnut – to be
performed in the fall of 2014 she has been
awarded residencies at Dance4 – (UK) and
in Créteil (FR).
Plusieurs de ses chorégraphies ont été
présentées à Montréal, notamment Hawks
and Doves (Tangente, 2007), The Thrills:
Wilderness Retreat (Tangente, 2005) et
Collapsible Uprisings (Salle André-Pagé,
2004).
Katie est parallèlement cofondatrice du
groupe d’artistes The Choreographers. De
2008 à 2011, ils créent et présentent Man and
Mouse et Oh! Canada dans diverses salles
au Canada et aux États-Unis.
Katie a étudié la danse contemporaine à la
School for Contemporary Dancers à
Winnipeg, le théâtre au Primus Theatre à
Winnipeg; la chorégraphie, l’art visuel ainsi
que l’histoire de l’art à l’Université
Concordia. D’autres formateurs influents
l’ont inspirée, parmi lesquels Stephanie

Katie has several other creations under her

Katie was co-founder of the artists group –
The Choreographers. From 2008-2011 they
co created and presented two works: Man

Katie studied contemporary dance and at
Winnipeg’s School of Contemporary Dance,
physical theatre at Primus Theatre, and
choreography, visual art and art history at
Concordia University. Other formative
studies were with Stephanie Skura, Chrysa
Parkinson and Eric Franklin. In 2013 Katie
taught creative process in the Department of
Contemporary Dance at Concordia
University.

Patrick Lamothe
Patrick Lamothe est diplômé de
LADMMI en 1995. Depuis 2009
jusqu'à tout récemment il a eu la chance
de danser en duo avec Louise Lecavalier
"children " et "A few minutes of lock". Il
a été menbre de la cie O Vertigo de
Ginette Laurin de 2000 à 2007. À titre
de danseur indépendant, il a travaillé
avec le metteur en scène Robert Lepage
et les chorégraphes Jean-Pierre
Perreault, Harold Rhéaume, Lucie
Boissinot, Pierre-Paul Savoie,
Emmanuel Jouthe, Katie Ward, Mélanie
Demers et plusieurs autres. Patrick fait
partie du Psykotik Happening Cabaret
de Peter James et a collaboré a quatre
créations de la cie Mobile Home dont le
Duras Show. Performeur et musicien, il
était du projet "Spasmes" de Carole
Nadeau cie Pont Bridge sur l'univers de
Francis Bacon.
Patrick Lamothe graduated from
LADMMI in 1995. Since 2009 until
recently he had the opportunity to dance
with Louise Lecavalier in "Children "
and in "A Few Minutes of Lock”. He
was a member of Ginette Laurin’s
O’Vertigo between 2000 and 2007. As an
independent dancer, he has worked with
Robert Lepage and choreographers:
Jean Pierre Perreault, Harold Rhéaume,
Lucie Boissinot, Pierre-Paul Savoie,
Emmanuel Jouthe, Katie Ward, and
Mélanie Demers. Patrick is member of
Peter James’ Psykotik Happening
Cabaret; he has also collaborated in four
creations with ‘cie Mobile Home’
including le Duras Show. As a
performer and musician, he was part of
the project: "Spasmes" by Carole
Nadeau of ‘cie Pont Bridge’ based on the
world of Francis Bacon.

Audrée Juteau
Audrée Juteau est danseuse et
chorégraphe, basée à Montréal. Elle a
collaboré à de nombreux projets comme
danseuse avec différents chorégraphes
dont Sonya Biernath, Jordi Ventura,
Erin Flynn, Dean Makarenko, Caroline
Laurin-Beaucage, la compagnie Bouge
de là d’Hélène Langevin, Aurélie
Pedron, Katie Ward, la fondation JeanPierre Perreault. Elle danse depuis 2004
avec la chorégraphe Deborah Dunn et sa
compagnie Trial & Eros. Comme
actrice, elle a joué dans le moyenmétrage Higglety Pigglety Pop or There
must be more to life, créé et dirigé par les
réalisateurs Chris Lavis et Maciek
Szczerbowski (Clyde Henry company).
Avec le groupe d’artiste The
Choreographers, elle a présenté les pièce
Man & Mouse, Oh Canada!et
différentes courtes pièces. Elle a été
récipiendaire de la bourse Danceweb
2010 du Festival Impulstanz de Vienne,
octroyée par l'organisation Jardin
d'Europe. Plus récemment, Audrée a
présenté sa nouvelle création Poisson au
Studio 303 - créée en résidence à Mains
d’œuvres (Paris), Studio 303 et Pigeons
International- et la pièce in situ Youme à
l’événement Piss & The Pool. Elle est
finissante 2003 de LADMMI et est
présentement étudiante à la maîtrise en
danse de l’UQAM en création et
approfondie sa démarche comme
chorégraphe.
Montreal based dancer and
choreographer Audrée Juteau has
collaborated on projects as a dance

produced by Spike Jonze. With the artist
group - the Choreographers - she
presented Man & Mouse, Oh Canada!
And several othere short pieces. Audrée
was the recipient of the Impulstanz
Danceweb 2010 grant given by Jardin
d'Europe. More recently, she presented
her piece Poisson at Studio 303 it was
created in residency at Mains D’Oeuvres
(Paris), Studio 303 and at Pigeons
Internationa. She also presented her sitespecific piece Youme at the Piss & the
Pool event. Audrée is a graduate of
LADMMI since 2003 and is presently
working on a Masters in Dance creation
at the Université de Québec à Montréal
as well as deepening her process as a
choreographer.
Dany Desjardins
Dany Desjardins
Dany Desjardins amorce sa démarche
artistique très jeune à travers le dessin et
le théâtre. Après ces études en arts
visuels à Alma, il complète un
programme en danse à Drummondville
et poursuit ses études à LADMMI à
Montréal. Depuis mars 2007, Dany a
travaillé pour la compagnie Marie
Chouinard, PPS Danse, Dave St-Pierre
inc., Bouge de là, KparK, Maribé - sors
de ce corps, et collaboré avec les
chorégraphes Catherine Gaudet,
George Stamos, Emmanuel Jouthe,
David Pressault et Katie Ward. Il
compose Shitoi & Dordur pour Danses
Buissonnières 2007_les classes. Avec
cette même pièce, il participe au Festival
TransAtlantique, Vue sur la relève et
remporte la bourse cirque du soleil en
2008. Il présente ensuite sa deuxième
pièce All villains have a broken heart
dans le cadre de Danse Buissonnière
2008_les gradués, et faisais partie de la
programmation du Off.ta en 2009. Du
CALQ, Dany reçu une bourse de
résidence à Berlin où il créa le solo On
Air présenté à Tangente, Piss in the pool
et le festival Transatlantique. Pow Wow
fut présenté au Théâtre Lachapelle en
octobre 2011 et travaille actuellement sur
un projet solo Winnin’ , programmé à
Lachapelle en 2014. A titre de conseiller
aux mouvements, il collabore avec la
compagnie La Tortue Noire et crée
Daidalos en 2012.
Through drawing and theatre Dany has
been engaged in an artistic process since
a young age. After studying visual art in
Alma, Dany Desjardins pursued and
completed studies in Dance in
Drummondville and then at LADMMI
in Montreal. Since 2007 Dany has

He is currently working on a new solo
project entitled ‘Winnin’ to be presented

movement consultant he collaborates
with the company - La Tortue Noire - in
2012 they created Daidalos.
Peter Trosztmer
Peter Trosztmer
Ayant en main un Baccalauréat en lettres
classiques, Peter Trosztmer a d’abord
étudié la danse à l’Université Concordia
avant de déménager à Toronto pour
compléter ses études à l'École du
Toronto Dance Theatre. Depuis, il s'est
distingué en tant qu’interprète en danse
de très haut niveau et travaille avec de
nombreux chorégraphes nationaux et
internationaux. En tant que
chorégraphe, Trosztmer a créé cinq
œuvres solo encensés par la critique. Son
travail a été sélectionné dans le « top 5 »
des spectacle de l'année (La Presse 2006
et Voir 2012) et il a donné la Meilleure
performance en 2006 (The Hour). Son
travail sur le spectacle Norman a reçu de
nombreuses louanges, dont le Angel
Award (Festival de Brighton, 2009).
Peter continue à se définir en tant que
créateur, investi dans un travail sensible,
bien documenté et physiquement
accompli. Son article Collaboration as
Practice The Winding Road a été
présenté à la Conférence de 2012 de la
Société canadienne d’études en danse.
Peter fait actuellement des recherches
avec Zack Settle sur le repérage
interactif du mouvement avec son et
vidéo, à La Société des arts
technologiques à Montréal et travaille
sur une nouvelle pièce de groupe pour
son espace dans Griffintown et d'autres
sites architecturaux et des galeries.
With a B.A. in Classics, Peter
Trosztmer studied at the Concordia
University Department of
Contemporary Dance before moving to
Toronto to complete the School of the
Toronto Dance Theatre training
program. Since then, he has
distinguished himself as in interpreter of
the highest caliber and has worked and
continues to collaborate with many
national and international
choreographers. As a choreographer
Trosztmer has created five critically
acclaimed solo works. His choreography
was selected as a top 5 show of the year
(La Presse 2006 and Voir 2012). As well
he was recognized for the best
performance - (The Hour 2006). His
work on the multi media work Norman
also received many accolades including
an Angel Award at the Brighton Festival
UK (2009). Peter continues to define his
place as a creator who is invested in
work that is sensitive, deeply researched
and physically realized. His co-authored
article “Collaboration as Practice The
Winding Road” was presented at the
Canadian Society for Dance Scholars
Conference 2012. Peter is currently
doing research with Zack Settle, into
interactive movement tracking with
sound and video at La Sociéte de les arts
technologiques in Montreal and is
working on a new group piece for his
space in Griffintown and other
architectural sites and galleries of
interest.
Michael Feuerstack
Michael Feuerstack
Basé à Montréal, Michael Feuerstack
est un auteur-compositeur-interprète qui
joue plusieurs instruments en plus d’être
producteur. Michael est un
collaborateur de création de longue date
de Katie Ward. Il a créé de nombreuses
œuvres musicales originales pour ses
chorégraphies. Il a aussi composé des
œuvres musicales pour plusieurs autres
artistes, cinéastes et interprètes. En tant
que musicien, il a travaillé avec Bell
Orchestre, Wooden Stars, The Luyas,
Julie Doiron et une multitude d’autres
artistes. En tant que producteur,
Michael a travaillé sur les disques de
Bent By Elephants (2013) de Montréal et
Paper Beat Scissors (2012) de Halifax.
En plus de son amour manifeste pour les
collaborations, Michael est aussi
reconnu pour ses performances solo et
ses enregistrements, anciennement sous
le pseudonyme Snailhouse et maintenant
sous son propre nom. Son dernier album
s’intitule Tambourine Death Bed.
Michael Feuerstack is a Montreal based
songwriter, singer, multiinstrumentalist, producer and sound
interpreter. Feuerstack has a long
creative history with Katie Ward, having
made original music for many of her own
pieces and collaborations. He has also
created sound for many other artists,
filmmakers and performers. As a
musician, he has worked closely with
Bell Orchestre, Wooden Stars, The
Luyas, Julie Doiron and a multitude of
other artists. As a producer, Michael has
worked recently on records by Montreal
artist Bent By Elephants (2013) and
Halifax artist Paper Beat Scissors (2012).
Besides his apparent love for
collaboration, Michael was also known
for his own musical solo performances
and recordings, previously under the
pseudonym Snailhouse and now under
his given name. His most recent
recording is called Tambourine Death
Bed.

Artiste et chercheuse basée à Montréal,
k.g. Guttman est actuellement candidate
au doctorat en art (recherche artistique)
de l’Université Leiden et à la Royal
Academy of Art de La Haye, aux PaysBas. Sa recherche, recevant le soutien
du Conseil de recherches en sciences
humaines (CRSH), porte sur les
relations
entre cartographie, chorégraphie et
interventions in situ. Son travail a été
projeté, performé et exposé sur la scène
nationale et internationale par le biais
d’institutions comme Mediamatic,

k.g. Guttman is an artist and researcher
based in Montreal. She is currently a
candidate in the PhDArts program
(artistic research) of Leiden University
and the Royal Academy of Art in the
Hague, the Netherlands. Her work,
funded through the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council
(SSHRC), considers relationships
between mapping, choreography, and
site-specific interventions. Her work has
been screened, performed and exhibited
nationally and internationally through
institutions such as Mediamatic,
Amsterdam, Palais de Tokyo and
Galerie Khiasma, Paris, Ottawa Art
Gallery, Art Metropole, Tangente, and
the Canada Dance Festival. k.g. was a
company member of LeGroupe Dance
Lab from 1999-2004, under the direction
of Peter Boneham. From 2008-2013, k.g.
Guttman was an Assistant Professor in
the Department of Contemporary
Dance at Concordia University,
Montreal.
Paul Chambers
Paul Chambers
Paul Chambers est un éclairagiste et
artiste visuel, résidant à Montréal. Il fut
notamment directeur technique à
Tangente, vitrine incontournable du
monde de la danse contemporaine. Son
intérêt et sa collaboration à de nouveaux
projets ont toujours été une priorité pour
Paul. Participant à diverses productions
en tournée et collaborant à divers ateliers
pédagogiques, il a su développer autant
son sens artistique que son rôle de
mentor. Il se consacre actuellement à
d’autres projets, comprenant des
installations artistiques
multidisciplinaires ainsi que différentes
oeuvres, impliquant différents artistes
d’horizon et de discipline variés, tel que
la danse, la musique et les arts visuels.
Paul Chambers is a Montreal-based
lighting designer and visual artist as well
as Technical Director of Tangente,
Laboratoire de Mouvements
Contemporains, a pivotal organization
in the contemporary dance community.
Collaborating in new projects and
developing his artistry is a priority for
Paul. He has toured with various
productions, facilitated diverse
pedagogical workshops, and has found
himself frequently in the role of mentor.
Paul continues to collaborate in multiple
projects including multidisciplinary art
installations and performances with
musicians, visual artists, actors and
dancers.
Kathy Casey
Kathy Casey
Originaire de la Caroline du Nord,
Kathy Casey débute en 1979 avec le
Chicago Moving Company. Établie à
New York en 1980, elle danse pour
plusieurs chorégraphes avant de se
joindre à la Lar Lubovitch Dance
Company et Susan Marshall &
Company. Accueillie par Montréal
Danse en 1991, elle est nommée
directrice artistique de la compagnie en
1996. Maintenant, une grande partie de
son travail est de découvrir et d'inviter
des chorégraphes au langage singulier à
créer des pièces pour la compagnie et de
les assister dans leur démarche créatrice.
En plus de ses responsabilités au sein de
Montréal Danse, Kathy Casey est
appelée à agir comme conseillère
artistique pour plusieurs chorégraphes
indépendants de Montréal et Halifax.
Kathy Casey - Born in North Carolina,
Kathy Casey began her dance career in
1979 with the Chicago Moving
Company. Settled in New York in 1980,
she danced for many choreographers
before joining the Lar Lubovitch Dance
Company and Susan Marshall &
Company. Welcomed by Montréal
Danse in 1991, she was appointed
Artistic Director of the company in
March 1996. A major portion of her
work now is choosing choreographers
with unique and captivating voices and
then assisting them in the creation of the
works they create on the company or
during research projects. In addition to
her work with Montreal Danse, she also
works as an artistic counselor for several
choreographers in Montreal and, more
recently, Halifax.
