Bonjour à tous,
Quelques nouvelles de La Contrebasse Voyageuse partie fin juillet de Dartmouth en Angleterre pour arriver à Palavas
son port d’attache le 30 août dernier au petit matin.
La Manche, le golfe de Gascogne, le Portugal, l’Espagne, Gibraltar, les Baléares ; plus de 3500 kilomètres sur l’eau
pour tester « Vive la Vie » le voilier sur lequel la Contrebasse Voyageuse naviguera prochainement autour de la
Méditerranée.
Fin août nous avons fait escale à Mallorca pour rencontrer David LEON le compositeur de Palma de Mallorca qui va
travailler sur la partie espagnole de l’œuvre itinérante.
Le collectif des trois premiers compositeurs de cette création musicale va se mettre en place très prochainement. A
Montpellier Christophe Héral, à Palma de Mallorca David Léon et à Tunis Mohamed Ali Kammoun.
Le 23 septembre dernier le premier feuilleton mensuel de l’aventure musical a été diffusé sur France 3. Les images
sont disponibles sur le site de la société « Vols de Nuit » qui va produire le web documentaire et le documentaire
dont France 3 est coproducteur.

Lucas Mouzas et Pascal Carcanade nos 2 réalisateurs viennent d’obtenir une aide à l’écriture du CNC (Centre
National Cinématographique) ; le web documentaire devrait être en ligne début avril pour le début du voyage de la
Contrebasse Voyageuse autour de la Méditerranée.
Un grand merci à l'entreprise ATREID de Montpellier "Solutions Vidéo Pro" qui est devenue notre partenaire pour
l'aventure de la Contrebasse Voyageuse en Méditerranée.
Pour les quatre écoles héraultaises qui participent au projet (Montferrier sur Lez, St Bauzille de Putois, Vacquières et
La Grande Motte) l’aventure vient de démarrer par les spectacles donnés dans les écoles aux côtés de mes 2
contrebasses. A cette occasion, les enfants ont eu leurs premières séances d’initiation à l’écriture.
Prévision de voyage courant novembre pour rencontrer nos partenaires grecs, libanais et sans doute égyptiens afin
d’organiser la deuxième phase du projet.

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to give you the latest news about the Travelling Doublebass….in August we sailed over 3500 kilometers
from Dartmouth, England down to the Mediterranean via the English Channel, the Biscay Bay, Portugal, Spain,
Gibraltar and the Baleares Islands. My travelling doublebass and I adapted quite nicely to life on board “Vive la Vie”
and are looking forward to taking to the sea again next spring!
A highlight of our trip was meeting David LEON, the composer of Palma de Mallorca who will work on the Spanish
version of the travelling composition. The first three composers, Christophe Héral, from Montpellier, David Léon,
from Palma de Mallorca and Mohammed Ali Kammoun from Tunis, will soon begin collaborating on the musical
creation.
On September 23rd the first monthly televised report of the musical adventure was aired on the French TV channel
France 3. It can be viewed on the website of “Vols de Nuit”, who, in co-production with France 3, will be producing
the future documentary and web-documentary of this musical adventure.

Our two film-makers, Lucas Mouzas et Pascal Carcanade have just received a grant from the CNC (the National
Center of Cinema). The web-documentary should be on-line in April as I and my Travelling Doublebass take sail for
Palma de Mallorca.

Doublebass in the Mediterranean.
The project has already got underway for the participating schools here in the Hérault region of France. I and my
two doublebasses recently gave our multi-media musical show to the schoolchildren of Montferrier sur Lez, St.
Bauzille de Putois, Vacquières et La Grande Motte. Following the performance, the children participated in a miniworkshop, initiating them to lyric writing.
In November, I hope to meet our Greek, Lebanese and possibly Egyptian partners to begin organizing the second
part of our musical adventure.
