2016 Annual CCFCC/Saputo Junior Culinary Exchange: Gatineau/Ottawa / Montreal, Quebec Juniors, this is your chance to experience the culinary scene of * La belle province *. The exchange will take place from May 30th to June 12th, 2016. Spend one week in the Outaouais region, attached to the national capital and its famous Gatineau Hills, also cook in the magnificent Fairmont Le Château Montebello, the world’s largest log cabin, nestled in the heart of the scenic Montebello village! Learn the art of making award winning cheese and visit the only chocolate museum in Canada. On your second week, live the life of an up and coming young chef in beautiful and exciting Montreal during the Formula 1 Grand Prix and experience the city’s culinary night life in its famous *gastropubs* as well as at the spectacular Grand Prix paddock parties. This opportunity open to all CCFCC junior members rewards three deserving young chefs with an experience of a lifetime. All costs associated with travel, accommodation, food and events are covered by the CCFCC and sponsoring authorities. Submission Requirements: Please create a 2 minute video submission detailing: o Your personal info – where you are from, some of your past culinary experiences o Why you wish to participate in this exchange o Why you think you are a suitable candidate to represent your branch and province o How the exchange will relate to your career and/or academic goals Recipes for a three-course menu: o Appetizer must include a Saputo Cheese o Main Course must include a Saputo Cheese & Dairy Product o Dessert must include a Saputo Dairy Product o Please include a photo of at least one dish Your resume Two letters of recommendation from an adult mentor, coach or instructor who are familiar with your work and skills One letter from your current employer (if applicable) confirming your ability to secure time off for the 14 day exchange and confirming that your position is guaranteed upon your return Emergency Contact Information Form (attached) Submitting Applications: In the interest of fairness, no emails, scanned copies or faxes will be accepted – applications will be accepted by regular Canada Post mail only. The applications will be accepted by the selection committee on a first come, first serve basis. The selection committee will reveal the winning candidates on May 16, 2016 followed by a public announcement on the CCFCC National website by, May 17, 2016. L’échange aura lieu du 30 mai au 12 juin 2016. Passez une semaine dans la région de l’Outaouais et la capitale nationale, entourées des célèbres collines du parc de la Gatineau. Cuisinez au magnifique Fairmont le Château Montebello, la plus grande cabane en bois rond du monde, nichée au cœur du village panoramique de Montebello. Apprenez l’art d’élaborer des fromages primés et visitez le seul musée du chocolat au Canada. Au cours de la deuxième semaine, cet échange vous propose de vivre la vie d’un jeune chef de la relève dans la belle et palpitante ville de Montréal pendant le Grand Prix et de découvrir la tradition culinaire des ses nuits animées dans les fameux gastropubs ainsi qu’aux spectaculaires *paddock parties* du Grand Prix. Cette opportunité est offerte à toutes et à tous les membres juniors de la CCFCC. Trois jeunes chefs méritantes et/ou méritants seront récompensé(e)s avec une expérience unique et inoubliable. Tous les frais de voyage, de logement, de nourriture et d’événements seront couvert par la CCFCC et les commanditaires. Exigences de candidature : Veuillez créer un vidéo de 2 minutes précisant : o Renseignements personnels – d’où vous venez, certaines de vos expériences culinaires précédentes o Pourquoi vous désirez participer à cet échange o Pourquoi vous croyez être une bonne candidate ou un bon candidat pour représenter votre chapitre et votre province o La pertinence de cet échange par rapport à votre plan de carrière et à vos objectifs académiques Vos recettes pour un menu trois services : o Une entrée comportant un fromage Saputo o Un plat principal comportant un fromage et produit laitier Saputo o Un dessert comportant un produit laitier Saputo o Veuillez inclure la photo d’au moins un de vos plats Curriculum vitae Deux letters de recommandation d’un mentor adulte, d’un coach et/ou d’un instructeur qui connaissent votre travail et vos compétences. Le comité de sélection fera connaître les candidats gagnants dès le 16 mai 2016, et il fera ensuite une annonce publique sur le site Web national de la CCFCC le 17 mai 2016.
