I-MITRI “COUNTER ACTION”
Né à Paris en France I-Mitri déménage en Grèce encore enfant, il passe son temps entre la
capitale d'Athènes pour l'école et une vie très calme dans une petite île des Cyclades centrales.
Alors qu'il était encore adolescent, il intègre le groupe Atiko Minus projet (AMP). en tant
que batteur et chanteur. Après des années de concerts en Grèce et un album en 1999, son attention
se porte rapidement vers la production studio, fortement inspiré par la tradition jamaïcaine des
sound system et une certaine une fascination pour l'électronique.
Un vif intérêt pour les pratiques spirituelles conduit I-Mitri en Inde où il a vécu presque une
année, à étudier la méditation et le chant classique indien avant de voyager en Europe et en Afrique
pour finalement arriver au Royaume-Uni en 2001. Il étudie la musique, la technologie et
l’innovation et la composition électroacoustique à l 'Université De Montfort à Leicester où il a
également enseigné entre 2004 et fin 2007.
A l’heure actuelle basé à Leicester, il est très lié avec Vibronics avec qui il est souvent en
concert ou en studio. Il rencontre Richi Rootz -fondateur du label Counter action- en 2006 et
intègre naturellement la formation live du même nom. I Mitri chante, mixe, produit et enregistre
des percussions pour un nombre incalculable de labels, Counter Action, THC Records, Nuff Powa,
Roots Tribe, Urban Scrumping... Ses productions sont aujourd’hui jouées par Jah Tubbys, Iration
Steppas, Aba Shanti I, Channel One, Jah Voice et Hytal Bosrah parmi beaucoup d'autres!
En tant que DJ / Selector, il représente la tradition britannique des sound systems Dub, et
n’oublions pas que cet activiste est également le producteur et animateur de l’émission de radio
« United Nations of Dub ».
PARVEZ “THE DUB FACTORY”
Parvez, AKA, "The Dub Factory " est né à Birmingham (UK). A cette époque, le Reggae
était la musique majeure des quartiers, les lignes de basse résonnaient sur les murs, de jour comme
de nuit. Parvez commence sa carrière musicale à l'âge de 19 ans, passant de groupes de rock à des
groupes de reggae, il prend finalement son destin en main, multi-instrumentiste et chanteur de
talent, fortement influencé par des sommités telles que Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse et
Aswad, Parvez créé « The Dub Factory ».
Il compose alors un reggae roots plus frais, sans influence particulière, mais c’est de sa
rencontre et de sa collaboration avec Shanker Ram que ses propres racines émergent de sa musique
pour donner naissance au « Qawali / reggae ». Il prend très vite la route avec ce nouveau son et
connaît rapidement un certain succès, les bonnes vibes de la musique traditionnelle Qawali et du
reggae l’amènent en tête d’affiche du Sunplash en Allemagne, et en tournée dans toute l’Europe.
Il devient alors l’un des premiers sound systems Anglais à tourner très régulièrement en
France, nous sommes dans les années 1995. ISHQ records organisera même une tournée aux USA
pour « The Dub Factory » en 1999.
Puis il met sa carrière de producteur en stand by quelque temps, devenant l’un des MC
attitrés de Vibronics avec qui il tourne sans cesse, il a à son actif un nombre incalculable de
dubplate et collaborations de par le monde.

Biography
I-MITRI “COUNTER ACTION”
Born in Paris, I-Mitri moves to Greece as a child. He spends his time between school in
Athens, the capital, and a very calm life on a little island in the centre of the Cyclades.
When he was a teenager, he joined Atiko Minus Project (AMP) as a drummer and singer.
After years of gigs and an album in 1999, his attention is quickly drawn to studio producing,
strongly inspired by the Jamaican traditions of Sound systems and a certain fascination for
electronics.
A sharp interest for spiritual practices leads I-Mitri to India where he lived for nearly a year,
studying meditation and classical Indian singing before travelling Europe and Africa to finally land
in the UK in 2001. He studys music, technology and the innovation of electroacoustic composition
at the Montfort University of Leicester where he also taught between 2004 and 2007.
At this moment in time, based in Lecester, where he is in connection with Vibronics whith
whom he is often in studio or playing live with. He met Richie Roots (founder of the Counter-action
label) and naturally intergrates the formation of the same name. I-Mitri sings, mixes, produces and
records percussion for a innumerable amount of labels : Counter-Action, THC Records, Nuff
Powa, Roots Tribe, Urban Scrumping… His prods are played by Jah Tubbys, Iration Steppas, Aba
Shanti I, Channel One, Jah Voice and Hystal Bosrah amongst many others.
As a DJ/Selector, he represents the british tradition of Dub sound systems and lets not
forget that this activist is also the producer and animator of the radio show « United Nations Of
Dub ».
PARVEZ “THE DUB FACTORY”
Parvez, AKA, "The Dub Factory " was born in Birmingham, UK. At this time, Reggae was
the main music of the area, bass lines would bounce of the walls day and night. Parvez begins his
musical career at the age of 19, moving between rock bands and reggae bands. He finally takes
his destiny in his own hands, multi-instrumentalist and talented singer, strongly influenced by the
heights of such Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Steel Pulse and Aswad, Parvez created “The Dub
Factory”.
He composes a fresher roots-reggae, without any particular influences, but its from his
collaboration a meeting with Shanker Ram that his own roots shine through his music to give birth
to “Qawali/Reggae”. He is on the road very quickly and meets a fair success, the good vibes of the
traditional Qawali music and reggae lead him to be the headline act for the Sunsplash fest in
Germany, and on tour throughout Europe. He becomes one of the first british sound systems to
regularly tour France.. its 1995. ISHQ records even organize a tour in the USA for “The Dub
Factory” in 1999.
He then puts on hold his career of producer to become one of the MC’s of Vibronics with
whom he tours non-stop. At his active he has an incalculable amount of dubplates and
collaborations throughout the world.
