Genetic Stratification of Patient Populations Remove non-responders and toxic responders Clinical Research to Clinical Practice: Lost in Translation? « It takes an estimated average of 17 years for 14% of new scientific discoveries to reach day to day clinical practice » JM Westfall et al JAMA 2007;2007;297:403. Clinical Research to Clinical Practice: Lost in Translation? « Less than 33% of patients with coronary artery disease are prescribed aspirin... » « ...Let's be realistic: If If we didn't do it with aspirin, how can we expect to do it with DNA? » C. The word community comes from the Latin communis, meaning “common, public, shared by all or many”; In the broadest sense, the term community may describe any association of interacting living species sharing a common environment (ecosystem) or living in a specific area; There are different kinds of human communities: communities of geographic location (a small village, a city, a region), communities as organisations or communities of shared culture ECOGENE-21 specifically refers to human communities, a cohesive social entity of individuals or families sharing a same environment within the context of the larger society.
