An important objective is to consider original material descriptions which are suitable for computational codes to simulate dynamic processes related to engineering applications. Themes The Workshop will cover an experimental as well as theoretical analyses and modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials and solids especially at high strain rates. The works based on specific industrial applications are welcome. The following main sessions are intended: 1. Experimental methods 2. Numerical simulations 3. Theoretical analysis 4. High speed impact and metal forming 5. Other industrial applications Time Table th

Location and Travel The workshop will be held in the historical Royal city of Cracow (Kraków), the former capital of Poland. There are numerous tourist attractions available in Kraków area, such as the Old Town, The Royal Castle Wawel, the Old Jewish District Kazimierz or salt mine in Wieliczka. The venue for the workshop is the Campus of AGH University of Science and Technology, Kraków, Poland. Flights to Kraków are available from main airports in Europe. There is also convenient railway connection with Warsaw by intercity trains. Accomodation There is a hotel at the University Campus with double or single rooms with special prices for the participants. There is also a large offer of hotels in center of Kraków. Call for Papers Workshop 2011 Two-‐page abstracts in English should be submitted to the Organizing Committee using E-‐mail. The abstracts should state concisely the purposes, methods, results and conclusions of the work with supporting figures and references. Expanded version of the selected papers will be considered for publication in the journals: Journal of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and MECHANICS. The fifth workshop will be organized at Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Metz (France) by Professor Alexis Rusinek. The topic of the workshop will be focused on the processes at very high strain rate and pressure as spalling, perforation and others.
