Oergezellig poolhouse
Poolhouse pleine d’ambiance | A delightful pool house
Wie tegenwoordig investeert in een zwembad, wil ook een mooi poolhouse. Niet zomaar een traditionele barbecueplek, maar een soort
van tweede woning om een hele dag langs het water in door te brengen. Ook deze bewoners zagen zo’n rustiek poolhouse wel zitten.
Ceux qui investissent dans une piscine l’accompagnent souvent d’une belle poolhouse. Pas un de ces coins barbecues traditionnels, mais
bien une sorte de deuxième résidence où l'on passe toute la journée. L'idée d'en installer une chez eux a séduit ces habitants.
Anyone investing in a swimming pool these days also wants an attractive pool house to go with it. Not so much a traditional barbecue
spot, more a sort of second home where you can spend the whole day. These owners, too, liked the idea of such a rustic pool house.
“Normaal gezien voeren we de poolhouses van Lloyd Hamilton in eikenhout
uit”, vertelt Christine Pouleyn van Groep Pouleyn. “Hier hebben we echter
gebruikt gemaakt van afrormosia, de tropische houtsoort die we ook gebruiken
voor de tuinpoorten en de moderne poolhouses van Pouleyn, alsook voor
onze totaalprojecten met ramen, deuren en garagepoorten van Pouleyn. En
uiteraard ook voor de oranjerieën en home extensions van Lloyd Hamilton.
Heel wat mensen zien ons als twee firma’s en kloppen hier bijvoorbeeld aan
voor een oranjerie zonder te weten dat ze bij ons ook poorten, ramen en deuren
of totaalprojecten kunnen vinden. De twee bedrijven binnen Groep Pouleyn
werken nauw samen en daar is dit poolhouse een mooi bewijs van.”
Wie voor een poolhouse kiest, kan opteren voor een aangebouwd exemplaar
aan de woning of een volledig losstaand geheel. Deze bewoners kozen voor een
constructie los van het huis, waardoor ze meteen ook vrij waren in de keuze van
stijl en materialen zonder de architectuur van hun hoofdwoning in gevaar te
brengen. “De bewoners hadden enkele duidelijke verlangens”, aldus Christine.

“Ze wilden een hedendaags resultaat met strakke lijnen, maar met tijdloze
materialen. Met behulp van natuurhout en oude Bourgondische tegelpannen
zijn we in dat opzet geslaagd.”
Het leukste aan dit specifieke poolhouse is dat de bewoners, als ze dit zouden
willen, er hele dagen in kunnen leven. Binnen is er plaats voor een ruime eethoek,
een salon en een open haard. Samen met de uitstekende isolatie is het hierdoor
zelfs op frissere dagen heerlijk vertoeven bij het zwembad. In één oogwenk kan
die gezellige binnenplaats echter eenvoudig veranderen in een ruim overdekt
terras. Door de geïntegreerde vouwschuifwand over de hele lengte van het
gebouw volledig open te schuiven, zitten de bewoners onmiddellijk buiten en
kunnen ze van daaruit ogenblikkelijk een verfrissende duik nemen in het heldere,
blauwe zwembadwater. Met andere woorden: een oergezellig poolhouse.

« En règle générale, nous fabriquons nos poolhouses de Lloyd Hamilton avec du
chêne », raconte Christine Pouleyn du Groupe Pouleyn. « Pour cette réalisation,
nous avons employé de l’afrormosia, une essence de bois tropicale que nous
utilisons également pour les portails de jardin et les poolhouses modernes de
Pouleyn, ainsi que pour nos projets globaux intégrant des portes, des fenêtres et

des portes de garage de Pouleyn. Et bien-sûr pour les orangeries et les extensions
de maison de Lloyd Hamilton. Beaucoup de gens nous perçoivent comme des
sociétés différentes et s’adressent à nous pour une orangerie, par exemple,
sans savoir que nous fournissons aussi des portails, des portes et des fenêtres
ou encore des projets globaux. Les deux entités du Groupe Pouleyn travaillent
étroitement ensemble, comme cette poolhouse l’illustre bien. »
Ceux qui désirent une poolhouse peuvent opter pour un modèle annexé à la
maison ou pour un ensemble totalement indépendant. Dans ce cas précis, les
habitants ont décidé de construire une structure isolée de la maison, de sorte qu’ils
ont pu choisir plus librement le style et les matériaux, sans mettre l’architecture
du bâtiment principal en péril. « Les propriétaires avaient quelques attentes
bien précises », indique Christine. « Ils voulaient un résultat contemporain avec
des lignes strictes, mais des matériaux intemporels. Grâce à l’utilisation de bois
et de vieilles tuiles de Bourgogne, nous avons atteint cet objectif. »
Ce qu’il y a de remarquable dans cette poolhouse spécifique, c’est que les
habitants peuvent y passer des journées entières s’ils le désirent. L’intérieur offre
suffisamment de place pour un coin salle à manger spacieux, un salon et un feu
ouvert. Combiné à l’excellente isolation, ce dernier permet de passer d’agréables
moments près de la piscine, même lorsque le temps se rafraîchit. En un clin
d’œil, cet espace intérieur se transforme en grande terrasse couverte. En ouvrant
totalement la paroi coulissant en accordéon intégrée sur toute la longueur du
bâtiment, les habitants se trouvent immédiatement dehors et peuvent dans
l’instant piquer une petite tête dans l’eau bleu clair de leur piscine. Autrement
dit : une poolhouse pleine d'ambiance. ■
When planning a pool house, you can choose between a built-on extension to
the house or a completely separate building. These owners opted for a building
distinct from the house, so they were completely free in their choice of style
and materials without endangering the architecture of the main building. “The
owners had a few clear demands,” says Christine. “They wanted a contemporary
result with clean lines, but using timeless materials. We succeeding in meeting
these aims using natural wood and old Burgundian pantiles.”
“Normally, Lloyd Hamilton pool houses are built using oak,” says Christine
Pouleyn of the Pouleyn group. “However, here we used African teak, the tropical
wood that we also use for Pouleyn’s garden gates and modern poolhouses, as well
for our entire projects with Pouleyn's windows, doors and garage doors. And of
course for Lloyd Hamilton orangeries and home extensions. A lot of people see
us as two firms, and come to us for - for example - an orangery, without realising
that they can also find gates, windows and doors here, or indeed total projects.
The two companies within the Pouleyn group work closely together and this
pool house is a fine example.”
What’s so special about this pool house is that if they want to, the owners can
spend the whole day there. Inside there is space for a roomy dining area, a sitting
area and an open hearth. Together with the outstanding insulation, this makes it
possible to enjoy marvellous days by the pool even in cooler weather. However,
this comfortable indoor area can be instantly converted into a spacious covered
terrace. The integrated folding sliding door along the entire length of the building
can be slid right back, so that the owners are immediately sitting outside and
can take a refreshing plunge in the sparkling blue swimming pool water at any
instant.
